Ok, I've learned my lesson (RMT)

So my experiment was an utter failure. I've learned you can't just try to counter everything, it's impossible. So I've gone back to my intuition, made what I believe to be a smart team and have so far used to to go 5-0 since I created it.

Swampert - The Stalwart Lead
@ Leftovers
Relaxed
Torrent
HP: 240
Def: 216
SpAtk: 52

Earthquake
Surf
Ice Beam
Roar

Comment: Type coverage and bulk means Swampert will be able to at least dent any opposing lead, or make them switch with Roar. Phazing is definitely needed to stop sweeps, like CM Jirachi (without psychic). MixTanking is great, especially when the 4 of the other 5 pokemon have resists to grass. Swampert will usually be able to come back later on where paralysis from Zapdos is greatly appreciated.

Gyarados - The Key Player (Physical)
@ Leftovers
Adamant
Intimidate
HP: 156
Atk: 108
Def: 100
Spe: 144

Waterfall
Stone Edge
Dragon Dance
Taunt

Comment: Early, mid or late game, Gyarados can come in and bring the pain. Bulky, Intimidate, Taunt and Dragon Dance mean he can defend, support and destroy with ease. Paralysis support gives Gyarados more reign over previously speedy pokemon. Sleep support gives freedom to set up and Reflect can stop Thunderpunchers and Stone Edgers when compounded with Intimidate.

Latias - The Key Player (Special)
@ Leftovers
Timid
Levitate
HP: 148
Spe: 252
SpAtk: 108

Calm Mind
Recover
Dragon Pulse
Reflect

Comment: Team support with Reflect compounded with Gyarados's intimidate to help shut down the all to common physical threats. Calm Mind also makes Latias all the tougher and in the late game, it's only a matter of time for Dragon Pulse to work it's way up to destructive levels. Special sweepers are hard to make tough but Latias does it in spades and can help the team out too.

zapdos.png

Zapdos - The Offensive Glue
@ Leftovers
Bold
Pressure
HP: 252
Def: 220
Spe: 36

IV: Atk: 14, SpAtk 30 (for HP Grass)

HP Grass
Discharge
Roost
Heatwave

Comment: Heatwave keeps Scizor and other steels in check. HP Grass thwarts Swampert who is very hard to kill otherwise. Those two coverages, Fire and Grass, compliment the rest of the team's type coverage. Discharge over Thunderbolt since paralysis is very good for Breloom to set up and it helps Scizor and Swampert get a leg up on the competition. Roost just makes Zapdos all the harder to take down.

breloom.png

Breloom - The Defensive Glue
@ Toxic Orb
Adamant
Poison Heal
HP: 44
Atk: 252
Spe: 212

Spore
Focus Punch
Leech Seed
Substitute

Comment: Super stalling, status absorbing power. Leech Seed can help spread recovery to others. Breloom shuts down Blissey, giving Latias and Zapdos wiggle room. Spore will also give Latias and Gyarados room to set up in the late game and can generally be useful to stop big threats in a pinch. Paralysis from Zapdos makes Breloom a big pain to get out and he can screw up anyone with his style and resistances.

Scizor - The Finisher
@ Choice Band
Adament
Technician
HP: 252
Atk: 252
Spe: 4

Bullet Punch
U-Turn
Pursuit
Superpower

Comment: I am pretty sure Bullet Punch on Scizor is right up there with Spore in terms of brokenness. Scizor picks up where anyone leaves off capable of finishing anyone. Reflect and paralysis support really helps since Scizor isn't fast outside of Bullet Punch and Reflect can stop random fire punches like Dusknoir. Superpower is over Brick Break since only dedicated Dual Screeners will stop the whole team and they are rare enough to not be feared. Also, Taunt and Spore can shut them down well and Zapdos can stall like a champ to wear the counter down. Basically, Superpower can whack around anyone for big damage, even opposing Scizor. Bullet Punch also helps Scizor absorb random paralysis.

Overview: Each member has very different counters. Key players are Gyarados and Latias. Why? They are the two who can single handedly support the team while boosting themselves to end any battle. Also, the same Zapdos I use is great to use against my team, which is why Latias is of the most importance. Using complimentary typing, supporting move pools and pokemon who can hits like a champ and dish out major pain give this team it's backbone. The aim here is adaption, being able to take on most teams well. Spinners and Stealth Rock not needed, this team is tough to stop.

I look forward more comments.

I'm sorry, but Gyarados is just not a good lead overall. You say you can Taunt Stealth Rock users, but Gyarados really isn't that fast. You'll find yourself getting Taunted by Azelf and Aerodactyl more often than not. Also, Metagross's "weakened explosion" will still OHKO Gyarados easily.

Why don't you just switch up Gyarados and put Swampert in the first slot? Swampert is one of the most time-honoured leads that exist, and you've got him last. He's sad back there :(

Hmm, the :( makes your point seem much more valid haha. I'll do that, and edit my post.
