SV OU Old dog's back. Help me out!

Hey there! I'm Denothir, I'm a 28y old lad and the last Pokémon game I've played was Emerald. Never got into the competitive scene and I'm generally into Singles. Here's what I've came up with:

https://pokepast.es/4d5cc9ad95ec3a95

1. Meowscarada was my choice in Scarlet and kinda like it, it packs a punch with flower trick. I could swap it, but I think it has some potential.

2. Baxcalibur. Oh boy this guy just melts things. Dragon dance and Glaive Rush means making Pokémons explode. The damage of this guy just makes up for letting it be in the team.

3. Ceruledge. This dude just came out from an anime, got it in the team because it's very, very cool. Sword Dance and other attacking abilities could make this guy very dangerous. Got him a focus stash because he generally gets oneshotted.

4. Magnezone, this dude it's plain funny, didn't even know of this evolution lel. Nice Special Attack tho, but I would swap it.

5. Volcarona. I like bug Pokemons, and I like Volcarona art style. It packs a punch too and I need a special attacker! Quiver Dance + Bug Buzz it's nice.

6. Dondozo. The only bulky Mon, kinda out of the team. Definitely swap him, dunno!

Sorry for being a noob.

Thank you for sharing! What about the rest of the team? I'm really getting mawled..
The rest is more or less fine. Volcarona would roost her to heal her if you can. mewscarada I like the move set you gave it, as well as baxcalivur's. ceclurde is fine I guess. and magnezone was normally used to finish off other steel type pokemon.

Thank you so much! Do you think I should swap dondozo and Celuredge? And with what?

I dont understand why meowscarada isnt choiced, why magnezone, a pokemon that resist stealth rock has heavy duty boots. Why volcarona who is 4x weak to stealth rock doesnt have boots and why donzozo doesnt have curse or anything to make progress, just a do nothing stall pokemon

Maybe tinkanton, clodsire, Garganacl or Glimmora to make them tanks. And Celuredge maybe with dragapult or gholdengo.
I like Dragapult A LOT! It isn't banned or anything right? Also Tinkaton!

As mentioned: my last game was Emerald, I was a kid. I have zero clue of competitive pokemon. I'm learning :)

The best way to learn is by laddering, watching high level tournament replays while also keeping an eye on the viability rankings and meta discussions

hii! just a recommendation I would add a rapid spinner/ defogger to help with your teams stealth rock weakness. try defog corviknight as it can also help with a ground immunity if not, try rapid spin Great Tusk as it can threaten many meta pokemon like Gholdengo which would usually stop hazard removal.
hope i helped :)
ps: if you still need help check out the s/v viability rankings via smogon forums

Hello, welcome to Smogon! Your team interested me but there are a few changes I wanted to make before taking it to the ladder.

MAJOR CHANGES
First of all, I wanted to make this a dragmag (dragons + Magnezone) so if you feel overwhelmed because of the dragon overload, just know it has a purpose.

:Volcarona: -> :Dragonite:
Dragonite is probably the best dragon in the tier right now, with a +2 priority extreme speed Dragonite hits extremely hard after a dragon Dance. Dragon Dance and immense coverage allow Dragonite to be a great breaker.

Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch
- Roost

:Ceruledge: -> :iron-treads:
This team desperately needed some hazards, and hazard removal. Iron treads added some bulk to the team and is useful overall.

Iron Treads @ Leftovers
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off

MINOR CHANGES
There's a lot of them, so here goes

Baxcalibur @ Never-Melt Ice -> Heavy-Duty-Boots
Ability: Thermal Exchange
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake -> Substitute/Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Glaive Rush

HDB are much better as it's never guaranteed hazarde are going to be off with gholdengo in the format. Substitute can allow you to get up a barrier up if your opponent tries to sack and ice shard Is always useful.

Meowscarada @ Life Orb -> Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protean -> Overgrow
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flower Trick
- Knock Off -> Sucker Punch
- U-turn
- Play Rough -> Spikes

I changed Meowscarada for Overgrow Heavy-Duty Boots (when you switch move, Protean becomes a liability and Meowscadara is easily put in Overgrow range due to its paper thin defenses), which has the benefit of setting up Spikes to weaken checks.

Magnezone @ Heavy-Duty Boots -> Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy -> Magnet Pull
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe -> 252 Def / 172 SpA / 84 Spe
Rash Nature -> Bold Nature

IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Steel Beam -> Body Press
- Volt Switch -> Iron Defense

I made this a physdef body press set. To trap steel types.

Dondozo @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Liquidation -> Wave Crash
- Body Press
- Rest
- Sleep Talk -> Curse
Without these changes, dondozo is kind of a sitting duck.

That's the revamp! My advice isn't the greatest so the team might be garbage. But I hope you like it.

damn, pretty nice adjustments. im just worried about chi yu as none of your mons resist both chi yu’s fire and dark stab as dondozo takes 47-55 if it eats a specs dark pulse so i think quaquaval could definitely work well on the team instead of dondozo.
