Operation - Robbing a Bank on A Rainy Day[Showdown]

This is why robberies happen less on rainy days. If you get in this team’s way, they will plow you down with their tactful style. Here’s what they had to say about how they run their operations:

Partners in Crime
Kingdra & Toxicroak

Kingdra (F) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 120 HP/136 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance
- Surf
- Protect
---
Toxicroak (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 16 HP/252 Atk/240 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Taunt
- Sucker Punch
- Cross Chop
---

Kingdra: So the here’s where it all begins, my partner Toxicroak over there first fakes out the victim, erm I mean opponent while I set everything up by performing a magical Rain Dance. Simple, but effective. Yes?

Toxicroak: Oh don’t forget about my Taunting abilities. Whenever I think someone is going to trick me by, I don’t know, this is silly, but let’s say they try to make everything backwards so Kingdra and I go last instead of first or they try to change the weather some how, I can just taunt them. Not like that is going to happen anyway, but still.

Kingdra: So after everything is set up I proceed to wipe everything out by surfing…yes surfing. Oh and I don’t even have to worry about those new Dark Void camera systems that automatically put you to sleep, because I carry a magical berry called Lum which wakes me up automatically.

Toxicroak: So many banks nowadays also have explosives planted in them as soon as you get into the building as well and I have a way of dealing with them as well. Kingdra protects herself while I switch out to:

The Lookouts
Rotom & Electivire
rotom.png
electivire.png

Rotom @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Light Screen
- Discharge
- Rain Dance
- Will-o-wisp / Reflect
---
Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Atk/176 Spd/80 SAtk
Lonely nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Cross Chop
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Thunder
---

Rotom: Yeah yeah, so as Toxi was saying over there, I come in while those explosions go off since I lol at them completely. You’re probably wondering “well, oh oh oh doesn’t that mustard hawk thing pull of this role better?”. The answer is no, can Zapdos take full blown explosions and not get hit by earthquakes when healing or have an immunity to normal and fighting? I think not.

Electivire: …I enjoy eating Rotom’s electricity-

Rotom: -Also here are some damage calcs to show I can take a hit as good as Zapdos can:

Weavile (120 Base Attack) with a neutral nature does 72.40% - 85.16% on Zapdos with Ice Punch (Defensive Roost Set)

Weavile (120 Base Attack) with a neutral nature does 70.07% - 82.24% on Rotom with Night Slash

Rotom: Pshh...Birds are so overated.

This will most likely be the 4 vs. 4 team I use for the showdown, but this is also a team I’ll be using for regular purposes as well so here are the other two Pokemon if you were curious.

The Backups
Ludicolo & Vaporeon
ludicolo.png
vaporeon.png

Ludicolo (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 152 HP/104 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Rain Dance
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
---
Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Icy Wind
- Helping Hand
---

Ludicolo: We’re basically the ones who stay in the van while the operation is going on. I can attack with 1.5 times the power I usually do with Vaporeon’s Helping Hand so Ice beam and Surf’s power is 142.5 instead of just 95.

Vaporeon: If any opertation goes hay wire and the opponents starts to chase after us then I can slow them down with my Icy Wind and make a Wish in the meantime.

To save you some time, here is your entire post cleaned up. Only took me a few minutes. Since I lack double battling experience, I thought this would be the best way to help.

I like the set up you have going with Kingdra and Toxicroak--I'ved used something very similar to it before to great success. Not entirely sure if Taunt is necessary with Fake Out, but, then again, Dusknoir is one of those common TR leads. May have a few problems against Bronzong + Hariyama, but what lead doesn't? Solid lead.

With Electivire and Rotom, make sure you don't screw up and harm your partner with Discharge or EQ. I'd suggest another attack on Rotom, but from the looks of it, you aren't getting walled by Ground types anytime soon. Are you sure you'll need another Rain Dancer in a 4v4 match? In 6v6, I think Ludicolo would work just fine as your second RDer--after all, you only need two at the most in doubles, from my experience.

I really don't like Vaporeon on here all that much, despite it's Water Absorb. I dunno, I know it's support, but it just doesn't seem threatening at all, especially against a TR team that won't give two craps about Icy Wind. Problem is, I dunno what you could really replace it with that would go well in that spot...hmm...I'll have to come back to this later. I hope at least some of that helped.

Acutally originally I didn't have Rain Dance on Rotom, but I felt that Electivire needed Thunder over Thunderpunch since potentially it could do more damage, and the fact that's a rain dance team. I had an old rain dance team from before that had only two rain dancers, but I also have a sunny day team that has three "sunny day"ers so I think it depends on the situation, it also helps because I have no damp rocks.

I had never thought of the Icy Wind Trick Room thing. Actually I was considering replacing Vaporeon as well, but I couldn't find something that fits the role well. The thing I do like about it though is that I have a pattern; one attacker and one supporter for each pair that I find to works really well in doubles and the wish passing aspect. Which is one of the reasons why it's still there.
