[OVERVIEW]

While Oranguru's vast movepool, decent Special Attack, and bulk are appealing, it struggles to find its place in the tier. Its mediocre typing leaves it susceptible to Dark-types such as Skuntank and unable to reliably check Fighting-types like Hitmonchan. Its Special Attack, while decent, leaves it unable to do much prior setup, and its ability is rather situational. As an offensive Psychic-type Trick Room setter, it is outclassed by Beheeyem, which sports a better ability and Special Attack.

[SET]
name: Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Nasty Plot
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Focus Blast / Thunderbolt
item: Fightinium Z / Electrium Z / Colbur Berry
ability: Inner Focus
nature: Quiet
evs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
ivs: 0 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With this set, Oranguru attempts to be a Trick Room sweeper thanks to its access to Trick Room, Nasty Plot, and decent coverage options. However, this is done better by Beheeyem, which also has access to Trick Room and Nasty Plot while sporting higher offensive presence, a better ability, a better typing, and more coverage options.
