Defensive Utility (Wigglytuff) @ Leftovers
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Dazzling Gleam
- Heal Bell / Stealth Rock

[SET COMMENTS]
Wigglytuff distinguishes itself from defensive staples by being one of the few clerics in the tier, rare access to Wish, decent bulk, and a helpful typing. The combination of Wish and Protect can heal both its teammates and itself; Protect can also scout for Choiced item users like Magmar and Krokorok. Dazzling Gleam is preferred over other options to cover targets like Krokorok, Vibrava, and Mightyena. Heal Bell makes Wigglytuff a cleric, allowing Wigglytuff to heal its teammates and absorb status; Stealth Rock can be used if the team needs to fit an entry hazard setter.

Wigglytuff fits best on defensive and balanced builds, giving needed longevity for its teammates over the course of a game, though it should not be relied on as the team's sole physical wall. Defensive stalwarts like Swalot and Bronzor form great defensive cores with it; both can take on opposing Poison- and Steel-types while being reliable backbones against physical attackers. If running Heal Bell, Wigglytuff can, in return, can heal them from Rest cycles. Attackers like Krokorok, Electabuzz, and Magmar greatly appreciate Wigglytuff's large Wishes, giving them a cushion against attacks and addressing their lack of recovery. Wigglytuff is crippled significantly by entry hazards, so hazard removers like Dustox and Vibrava can make it less reliant on Wish + Protect cycles for longevity. If running Stealth Rock, wallbreakers like Simipour and Sawsbuck can greatly benefit from the residual damage being able to consistently 2HKO threats like Servine and Swalot, respectively, while also benefitting from Wigglytuff's Wishes.

Other Options
=============

Knock Off can be used over Dazzling Gleam on the defensive set to give it added utility, though this makes its matchups against Dark- and Dragon-types like Krokorok, Mightyena, Vibrava, and Dragonair more complicated. Thunder Wave can similarly be chosen over Heal Bell or Stealth Rock to have a better matchup against offensive teams, but its utility is more difficult to fit than the aforementioned moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types and Poison-type coverage**: Swalot is arguably Wigglytuff's greatest check, able to consistently avoid the 2HKO after Stealth Rock from any of its moves and retaliate with threatening STAB moves, which can be further accentuated with Assault Vest. Other Poison-types like Dustox and Ivysaur can threaten Toxic or their own STAB moves to exhaust Wish and Heal Bell PP, but struggle against coverage from offensive sets.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Bronzor and Klang can use Wigglytuff's defensive sets as setup fodder and take pittance from its attacks. However, they are greatly threatened by coverage from offensive sets.

**Wallbreakers**: Special or mixed wallbreakers like Magmar, Simipour, and Simisage can blast through Wigglytuff with powerful STAB moves without too much trouble, especially if it's not running defensive sets. Even with full bulk investment, physical attackers like Choice Band Furfrou and Swords Dance Sawsbuck can deal a lot of damage to Wigglytuff.

Wigglytuff's decent bulk combined with a helpful typing and a deep utility movepool make it important glue to bulky and balanced builds. The combination of Wish and Protect can heal both its teammates and itself; Protect can also scout for Choiced item users like Magmar and Krokorok. Dazzling Gleam is preferred over other options to cover targets like Krokorok, Vibrava, and Mightyena. Heal Bell makes Wigglytuff a cleric through removing status conditions for its team, allowing Wigglytuff to heal its teammates and absorb status; Stealth Rock can be used if the team needs to fit an entry hazard setter.

I think the first line should better emphasize Wiggly's niche on top of having great bulk & typing. Wigglytuff is one of the only clerics in the tier and is the only Wish user, which make it important glue to bulky and balance builds.

Wigglytuff fits best on defensive and balanced builds, giving needed longevity for its teammates over the course of a game, though it should not be relied on as the team's sole physical wall.
