XY OU ORAS OU Balanced Team

Edit: I accidentally put this in the wrong Forum if someone could place this into the ORAS OU RMT it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone this is my first RMT so sorry if i dont do things 100% correctly in this thread. Firstly my original aim was to build a team comp centered around Specs Sylveon and Talonflame and after a bit of testing this is what i came up with.

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock
- Baton Pass

I have always loved the Choice Specs Set for its sheer power and how it turns Sylveon into a powerful wall breaker. The given speed EV's are used to outspeed and OHKO uninvested Tyranitar Hyper Voice is your STAB that covers everything outside of bulky steels and poisons.Working off of a 117 due to pixilate this move hits like a truck allowing Sylveon to decimate anything that does not resist it. Hidden Power Fire is my preferred choice over Hidden Power ground as i have enough ways to deal with Heatran and Magnezone takes high damage from HP fire anyway. Psyshock is a filler move used mainly for prediction against pokemon that may switch in on a predicted Hyper Voice or in a straight up 1v1 with Gengar if i am not already locked into a move. Baton Pass is used to keep momentum when up against Volt-Turners or on predicted bulky steel switch ins that aren't taken down by HP fire.

gliscor.gif

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 188 Def / 72 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
I picked Gliscor as my Stealth Rock user as i needed something that could act as a strong lead whilst still being able to tank hits from strong physical threats in the mid to late game. Earthquake is used as the attacking move giving Gliscor some pressure and allows it to deal with the pokemon that would otherwise counter my team (namely heatran). Roost is used for additional recovery and taunt so Gliscor can prevent hazards from being setup early game and to prevent him for being set-up fodder to powerful set-up sweepers.

Starmie_XY.gif

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpD / 244 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
- Reflect Type

I have always been interested in this set and as i was in need of a bulky spinner i felt like trying it out. The speed IVs are just enough to outspeed Scarf Magnezone and below allowing Starmie to opt for a Reflect type to not only avoid the KO but even resist the hit Correct usage. Special Defence EV's are mainly used to lower the chance of OHKO from Latias Draco Meteor. Scald is used as the primary STAB to opt for burns against pokemon that do not threaten it and recover is thrown in for reliable recovery. Losing STAB after using Reflect type does hurt however it is mainly used to aim for burns and stall out other defensive pokemon anyways.

Talonflame_XY.gif

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Sleep Talk

Talonflame is used as my Physical wall breaker alongside Sylveon whilst also acting as an additional pivot for my volt-turn combo. All of Talonflames moves are fairly self-explanatory except Sleep Talk which was thrown in as a filler move over roost/tailwind to help me deal with common sashed spore users (smeargle in particular). As i was never really using the 4th move slot anyway it allows me to use manectric as a lead against Smeargle or breloom volt switching and then bringing Tflame in to take the sleep and finish them off.

manectric-mega.gif

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I had trouble picking the final 2 members of this team and honestly i'm 50/50 on replacing them atm. Manectric is used to give me a strong and super fast revenge killer as well as to add some Special attack threat into the team for when Sylveon falls. Its main strength is acting as the primary pivot of the Volt-Turn combo with Talonflame whilst being able to take down pokemon that resist its STAB's with a combination of Overheat for Steel and grass types along with Hidden Power Ice for Dragon and ground types that would otherwise give it a hard time.

20140809163653

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- ExtremeSpeed

Dragonite was thrown in to add some additional offensive presence and bulk when multiscale is active that can transition into a strong physical set-up sweeper. Lum Berry is used to allow Dragonite to set-up a dragon dance without fearing a burn or paralyze instantly.Dragon Claw is taken as the STAB over Outrage as i am not a fan of being locked into the move with so many Steel and Fairy type pokemon being popular in the current meta. Earthquake is used mainly to deal with the Bulky Steels that are popular whilst giving me a way to get around Fairy types not named Clefable.

Any advice on this team would be greatly appreciated.

I might change Gliscor to Landorus-T. Your team is kind of on the offensive side, and Gliscor doesn't add to that. Landorus-T is a better setter of Stealth Rock in my opinion because he can force a lot of switches with his Earthquakes that come from a base 145 Attack stat. Landorus-T also gets Intimidate and U-Turn, which lets him shut down physical attackers by switching back and forth between Landorus-T and Mega Manectric, while doing chip damage with the Volt-Turns.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge / Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

I prefer Stone Edge over Knock Off for coverage, since if you expect a switch, you will probably be U-turning out anyways. Knock Off is never a bad move though, it Cripples a lot of Stall mons (Chansey in particular).
