Other Metagames ORAS Solid Game Team ⍟ Mega-Medicham ⍟

Hi there guys!

I'm looking for a very versatile and balanced team with some particular requirements.

I am not looking for a team to make on Pokemon Showdown or anything; I specifically want this for my ORAS game on my 3DS. I am looking to make this team based around Mega-Medicham, as he is one of my favourite pokemon and is definitely the strongest of my favourites. I think there will be a LOT of changes to this team.

I want this team to work for both doubles and singles. I do not want this team to include legendaries or event pokemon due to their availability and difficulty to breed. This team isn't mean for me to become a pro; I just want a team that's good enough to hold it's own online and be deemed "average" (maybe a simple team with good mechanics that can be taken to a decent level with player skill?), and of course be good in real life when I go to conventions or college (as I am planning to have this team ready before Anime North, a large anime convention.)

Here is the team:

Medicham-Mega (M) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Protect

> Meant to be the star of my team, mainly because he is my strongest favourite Pokemon and his ability and signature move gives him absurd raw power. I want him front and center with his crazy attack stat. Jolly + Speed EVs make it so he outspeeds most pokemon besides specially speed invested ones and high attack stat synergizes with ability. HJK gives him obscene power on anything that doesn't resist and Ice Punch and Thunder Punch give coverage to almost everything else. Protect is tons of utility in doubles, and still sort of useful in low-level singles.

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Taunt

> Meant to be high damage support, due to his high attack stat and speed with access to strong supporting moves. Fake out, knock off and taunt all provide enormous utility while allowing Weavile's great speed and attack to do tons of damage. Life Orb is good since he's so squishy his HP won't be missed anyways. Pressure is good for more support. Icicle Crash is good for coverage against dragons that are faster than medicham.

Quagsire (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpA
Sassy Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Toxic
- Protect

> Meant to be my mixed wall due to Unaware letting him ignore setups, decent typing and good recovery option. I'm a bit worried about him and want more input, but Leftovers + Unaware + split defensive EVs give good base bulk and recovery for him to function as a wall. Recover and Protect allow him to stall, and Scald and Toxic lets him maim attackers and wear away anything that can't burst him.

Gyarados (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Roar
- Thunder Wave

> Meant to fill in as some support and attack, as access to Twave and Roar seriously slows down any attempts to setup, and a strong water move gives coverage with stone edge to cover flying types. Intimidate and HP stat lets him provide tankiness to his team, along with Roar to get out setups and TWave to hurt speedy pokemon. Waterfall and Stone Edge is good for coverage, along with invested ATK stat. I don't like that he has Sitrus and want a diff item, but for now it's useful.

Arcanine (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Heat Wave
- Dragon Pulse
- Overheat
- Morning Sun

> Meant to be my special attacker as well as my AoE in doubles, access to Heat Wave and Dragon pulse with a decent SpA stat and a possible buffing ability lets him put out lots of damage if protected well. Puts out lots of damage with EVs, Life Orb and Flash Fire. Heat Wave + Drago Pulse gives him tons of AoE and coverage, with OverHeat giving him wallbreak potential. Morning Sun is kinda meh but could be useful as recovery.

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 64 HP / 192 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Zen Headbutt

> Meant to be my mixed attacker, as good access to strong AoE moves with good attack coverage as well as Zen headbutt lets him deal good coverage damage while also possibly becoming very strong with moxie. Moxie, Speed EVs and life orb lets him deal lots of damage. Draco and Outrage give huge STAB damage, and Zen + Earthquake give even more coverage. Not totally sure about this pokemon, but wanted more coverage so he fit.

Worries:
- Quaqsire is my only real wall. Is he bulky enough? I would have preferred something like Cresselia, and thats who I was looking for a replacement of, but thats obv not easily available like Quaq. Am I missing a good mixed wall?

- Gyarados is on an odd set. I was looking for someone like Lando-T, but obv way more available. Though maybe Im spreading him too thin as an intimidate-speedy-utility-attacker... Is there another pokemon or set that could work?

- Arcanine was meant to be a Heatran replacement and was meant as my special AoE attacker. He seems like he'd be okay, but Dragon Pulse might be kinda dangerous, morning sun is pretty situational, and isn't he a bit squishy? He worries me a bit.

- Salamence is meant to be my mixed attacker, modelled after like a Hoopa. Though maybe I'm having too much offense on my team at this point?

What do you guys think?

Hello SSoeiro !

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!

EDIT: Reopened!
