ORAS OU ORAS Sticky Web

When Sticky Web was introduced, it quickly became one of my favorite hazards to use in any tier. Whether it was using it to allow Mega-Hera sweeps in OU or even bringing it to NU to allow Flareon and Ursaring to sweep, it always gives you a distinct advantage over your foe and forces them to think of a safe way to remove it. With ORAS OU being playable, Glalie caught my attention as the best Mon to take advantage of Sticky Web, which i'll get into later.

Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Sticky Web
- Encore
- Infestation

Starting off is Shuckle, who is arguably the best Sticky Web setter in the tier. Some would argue Galvantuala is better, but after it sets up webs, it's usually left to die. Shuckle is more reliable and is able to continue to set up hazards mid game. Encore prevents set up sweepers from attacking and allows Shuckle to switch out undamaged. Infestation is used over Toxic to damage Steel and Poison types while allowing Shuckle to trap an opponent and switch into something that can counter. SpDef is maxed out to ensure it lives 2 Hydro Pumps from Greninja.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Expert Belt
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind

This spot originally went to Breloom, but it was countered by mega Mence at every turn and often failed to reliably kill Ferrothorn. Aside from being fabulous, Keldeo provides the team with special attacking pressure. Keldeo is more useful than ever in ORAS OU. It counters many common mons in OU right now, partly thanks to Mega-Mence. Magnezone, Ferrothorn, Landorus-T, and even Mence itself all take massive damage from Keldeo. Scald is for burns, and Hydro Pump is used for when I don't think Scald can KO something. Icy Wind KO's Mence on the switch in and also OHKO's mega Sceptile, which I outspeed after webs. Expert Belt helps secure many KO's and allows me to bluff Choice Specs.

Glalie @ Glalitite
Ability: Inner Focus
Happiness: 0
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Super Fang

And now for the star of the team, mega Glalie. Being one of the most under looked megas in ORAS, it always catches my opponent off guard when they see it in the team preview. Frustration and Earthquake provide great coverage, able to 2HKO many common threats. Ice Shard is for priority and is usually able to 2HKO mence and Lando-T even after intimidate. Last but not least is Super Fang, which is used almost exclusively when i predict something to switch into Glalie. Glalie can't touch Rotom-W, but being able to half it's HP on the switch in is huge. EV's allow Glalie to out speed everything under webs that Jolly Mega-Cross could and conveniently allows it to survive a Sharp Beak Talonflame's Brave Bird after rocks.

252 Atk Sharp Beak Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 104 HP / 0 Def Glalie: 207-244 (63.3 - 74.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick

There's really not anything special about Gothitelle, just trapping and killing. HP Fire 2HKO's Ferrothorn, so I always have to make sure to preserve Gothitelle if I see a Ferrothorn on the opposing team.Thunderbolt OHKO's nonmega Slowbro. Specs and max speed are used to ensure it can deal massive damage after webs are up. If I don't use it to attack, Trick is used for crippling enemy walls or stop sweepers mid-setup. Magnezone could probably be used instead, so i'm open to switching this out.

bisharp.png

Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Iron Head

Nice and standard Bisharp set. Bisharp is defiantly the best Defiant user in the tier, able to punish defog users who want to get rid of my webs and retaliate with Sucker Punches. Pursuit and Sucker Punch do require a lot of mind games, but when played right, can change the tide of a battle. Iron Head is STAB for Fairies, simple enough. Knock Off Does around 60% to Zapdos and Ferrothorn, who together, wall most of my team.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock

Final member is Landorus-T, who I mainly use for momentum. Intimidate is great for Physical sweepers that want to come in and KO my more frail attackers. Lando is pretty much also my only stop to Talonflame and Excadrill, as they're able to KO most of my team together. If the battle is not going in my favor (Shuckle and Bisharp have fainted) then he can also set up late game rocks. More often than not, I lead with Lando-T to U-Turn on Taunt users who want to stop Webs from getting up. Edgequake coverage for offensive presence, which hurts even un-invested.

Threatlist:

Excadrill: Excadrill itself isn't a threat because it's dealt with by Keldeo, but Rapid Spin causes a lot of trouble.

Talonflame: Sure, I have ways of dealing with this, but it requires a lot of switching, which is when it uses Roost.

Ferrothorn: I have no way to get hazards off the field, so if I can't get Gothitelle in on time, it's free to use my side of the field however it wants.

Gyarados: I don't see it much, but since it's not affected by webs, all it needs is one D-dance and it can sweep my team.

Rotom-W: Definently the biggest threat to my team. Glalie has no way of dealing with it bar Super Fang and even then I still need to switch into Gothitelle or Keldeo to KO it.

Offensive Ice types: Weavile, Kyu-B, Mamoswine, etc. These all are able to do massive damage to my team even if webs are set up. Keldeo is really my only answer to these.

Hey VisualKnight. Your team is simply too slow paced to abuse Sticky Web. Opposing Bisharp is also a big threat because you give it a free +2 or if you simply don't set them up, Shuckle is pretty much dead weight. Your team also doesn't really have any hard hitters besides Glalie and Keldeo. Your team is also very weak to opposing Keldeo and a bunch of other things due to no defensive backbone. That's why I recommend using a Latios over Gothitelle as it allows you to have something speedy that can check threats like Keldeo and the like. I also recommend Scarf Keldeo over it's current set due to all the fast Megas right now that can outspeed it. To be honest I think you should replace Shuckle with something else as you already have a Stealth Rocker and Sticky Web is not very reliable since they can Defogged or Rapid Spinned away. A whole Pokemon just to set up Sticky Web isn't very ideal. It can work with the right members but your team like I said doesn't abuse it much so I'm just trying to work with what you have here without completely making a new team.

Anyways the changes:

Gothitelle --> Latios

Latios_espalda_G6.gif

Latios @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog/Earthquake/Roost

Latios is better than Gothitelle in this particular team for a few reasons. First it allows you to have a better check to Keldeo, Rotom-W and stuff like that. Not to mention it's faster and you can still hit Ferrothorn for a lot of damage with HP Fire. You can also run EQ to lure Heatran.

CM Keldeo --> Choice Scarf Keldeo

Keldeo_XY.gif

Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Icy Wind

Shuckle --> something else. To be honest I think something like Weavile would be a better choice over Glalie and then use another Mega over Shuckle but that would be changing the team too much. It's your choice though. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the rate!
I'll definitely try Latios because I agree Gothitelle does end up being dead weight quite often.
I try to use Keldeo whenever webs aren't up so Trying the scarf set couldn't hurt either.
I would really like Sticky Web to be the basis of this team though, as I've used it a lot in the past, so I'm going to continue with Glalie for a while and see how it goes.

i really like how your team looks on paper but the problem is that its lacking speed goth should be running scarf to trap gar and out speed keld i guess you wouldnt really need scarf since you have web but its also a nice option since web isnt always gonna be up and the opponent has the option to spin them away.
