XY Ubers ORAS Ubers (peaked 1400)

So since ORAS OU is awful right now, I decided to go to ubers... peaked 1400 (Rank 119) in Showdown, and wanting more... thoughts?

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Modest Nature
- Aeroblast
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Roost
So what started this team is I had caught a modest Multiscale Lugia in Alpha Sapphire and decided to build a team around it. Simple physical wall but Modest instead of Bold. This is one of my main win strategies, with just the amount of damage he can take and the damage Lugia can dish out with 2 or 3 calm minds set up. I am afraid of Groudon's because rock polish Primal Groudon completely walls my set.

Zekrom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Outrage
- Volt Switch
- Sleep Talk
The more I use this set the more I fall in love with it. I was debating Scarf or Band, but Scarf seemed to help a little more. Typical Scarf set with Sleep Talk to counter those Darkrais. This is my next win condition. Usually a very late game sweeper. I have been in numerous games were its 3-1 and I have rocks and spikes ups, I send in Zekrom as Last hope, and end up OHKOing the rest of the team.

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes (Volt Switch?)
- Stealth Rock
Big thing to have for UBERS. My typical lead, when team has opposing Ho-oh or Yveltal, and the extra damage does a lot to other pokes. I toxic first turn on EVERY Deoxys because its always turned out well for me, plus with defensive Magic Coat Deoxys the toxic doesn't effect me. Although Taunt Yvetal hurts, I'm able to switch out and take care of it with Zekrom. I like to have spikes on the field but lately I have been contemplating having Volt Switch for that Pivot.

Kyogre-Primal @ Blue Orb
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 240 HP / 112 SpA / 156 Spe
Modest Nature
- Origin Pulse
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Roar
Seems like every UBERS battle has to have One of the Primals, and this is my main counter for Primal Groudon of course, It helps me protect Forretress from fire type moves, and this SpA and Spe, it 2HKO other Primal Kyogres with Stealth Rocks, with being able to take a few thunders itself. I put it Roar over Water Spout because 1 it did a good 1% to Mega Kangaskhan so that mad me angry, and also so far it has helped Primal-Groudon from setting up.

Xerneas @ Leftovers
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Toxic
This was a big just through in there to counter Outragers, Lati@s Dracos, and Defensive Steel Types. Unfortunately with the little SpA EVs it 2HKOs all steel bugs, but is able to do decent damage. Aromatherapy, helps with Dark Voided pokes (other than Zekrom) and when Lugia gets Toxic'd. I am really skeptical about Xerneas because honestly he does little work for my team. This is a poke I am willing to hand away because of its lack of help to the team

Deoxys-Attack @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Psycho Boost
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch
- Knock Off
Main Revenge Killer. Fire Punch for opposing Mega-Scizor or Forretress although I am starting to feel like this is actually a bad move to include with Deoxys. Psycho Boost to does massive amounts of damage. and Extreme Speed + Knock Off for good damage with priority and item knowledge. This guy does some major work with the focus sash.

SO! my main threats are defensive steel types, especially Skarmory. I have some problems with Primal Groudon when I am playing right. I have tried Mega-Khan and Arceus-Fire and a little Arceus-Fairy, but I can't seem to get the right fix. Thoughts?

Hey man, couple things about your sets first. Admittedly I haven't used CM Lugia in ORAS, but nothing changed drastically enough for it to become good. The issues are that base 90 Special Attack is too low even when boosted (and you won't get to accumulate many boosts because of Toxic spam or phazing), and the fact that Aeroblast only has 8 PP. More balanced or defensive teams can easily stall out 8 PP and then Lugia is even weaker. What Lugia should be taking advantage of is its enormous defenses. With Toxic and Roost it can stall out many threats on its own, or it can phaze dangerous sweepers with Whirlwind and overall just stop teams.

That said, your team doesn't really fit with Lugia that well. For example, Deo-A, Zekrom, and even 3 attacks Kyogre all want to be on some sort of offensive team, and do not complement Lugia very well (no Defog, no Magic Bounce to ensure Multiscale is intact, etc. Rapid Spin Forry is a bit too unreliable). Your best bet honestly is to swap out Lugia. I know you wanted to make a team around it, but if so you need to build a more defensive / stallish team where Lugia really shines.

Defensive Xerneas is in a similar vein but still can work. Your set is a bit reminiscent of Mexican Xerneas, but some key differences make your set less useful. Without investment, Xerneas is significantly weaker. That means it has to take more hits among other things, but you have no reliable recovery. Fully defensive Xerneas usually likes RestTalk with Aromatherapy and Moonblast, giving a chance to wake up early and check a lot of physical / special attackers. I haven't run this sort of Xern in ORAS so I can't really attest to its usefulness, but either way your team could probably make good use of Geomancy, since you don't have a really solid way of winning.

You could maybe swap out Lugia for Latios or Latias so you have something for Primal-Groudon, as Kyogre can't actually switch in very reliably. Calm Mind Roost + STABs could be a cool option for just nuking everything super hard and also taking on opposing Kyogres well.

Lastly, Forry is a bit meh IMO. It just doesn't check much (needs Gyro Ball for Xerneas), and in particular is food for Mega Gengar. You could benefit from a solid Xern check in Primal-Groudon, which will provide Stealth Rock and phaze Xern out. These changes introduce two Ground-weaknesses and only one immunity, making you particularly weak to opposing Primal Groudon with Dragon Claw, so you have to play Zekrom especially carefully so that Groudon doesn't get many free switches. Finally, without hazard removal you can use Life Orb Deo-A for a bunch more damage.

Anyway, I made a lot of changes and sort of remade your team into offense, but your original build leaned slightly more toward offense anyway and I'm not really good at building stall. I think these changes give you a bit more reliable ways to win, so I hope they helped!

Xerneas @ Power Herb
EVs: 212 Def / 252 SpA / 52 Spe
Modest Nature
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power Fire
- Focus Blast

The EVs are a bit arbitrary, but you don't really need the amount of Speed given in the analysis. Defense investment lets you take physical moves much better than HP, at the cost of a bit of special bulk. However, ESpeed does less meaning it is harder to revenge kill.

Latios @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Calm Mind

Latias also works, basically a huge nuke after just one CM boost. Speed for base 100s since you don't really want / need to speed tie.

Groudon @ Red Orb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Precipice Blades
- Lava Plume
- Roar

Deals with Xerneas in particular

When you're partially investing in two stats within the range they both can reach either with positive or neutral nature, you NEVER want the positive nature in the lower one. Lugia with 4 SpA, 252 Def, and Modest nature reaches 238 SpA and 359 Def, yet you can reach that same SpA with Bold and 88 SpA EVs instead. This leaves 168 EVs for Def, and combined with Bold nature you get 371 Def.

Anyway, I made a lot of changes and sort of remade your team into offense, but your original build leaned slightly more toward offense anyway and I'm not really good at building stall. I think these changes give you a bit more reliable ways to win, so I hope they helped!

Thanks a lot! I will definitely play with your sets. I started building the team around Zekrom anyway so I am okay with switching out Lugia. (RIP Pokemon Movie 2000 though)
