XY OU OU Balance with Mega Manectric

So I'm usually really bad at creating teams, and recently I decided to try really hard to make one that works. This team has been doing pretty decent, but I want to make it better. My main problem is being unable to touch Stall, especially Mega Venusaur, but I don't like playing Stall anyway so that isn't a huge issue.

manectric-mega.gif

bulbear (Manectric) (M) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]

I love this thing for how insanely fast it is. Mega Manectric can be a great check to Talonflame and Gyarados, lowering its Attack with Intimidate and threatening a KO with Volt Switch. It also can absorb Thunder Waves and other Electric Moves from the likes of Thundurus-T and beats Skarmory and Togekiss, the two main Pokemon Garchomp has trouble with. Hidden Power Ice is predictable but reliable, as Landorus, Gliscor, and many Dragons all die to it. Volt Switch and Intimidate together are too good.

garchomp.gif

whale (Garchomp) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

Garchomp is my second favorite Pokemon of all time (first is Shuckle) and this is my favorite set. Substitute enables him to set up on Mega Mawile and Rotom-Wash and anything else that tries to ruin Garchomp's sweep. Dragon Claw over Outrage because it's already limiting with only dual STAB and I don't want to become locked if I'm forced to Outrage against something immune to Ground and the opponent has a Fairy type in the back.

skarmory.gif

final (Skarmory) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Defog
- Roost

Both of those above guys hate two things, hazards and Mamoswine. Skarmory handles both with ease. Sturdy with Whirlwind handles any would-be sweeper and Brave Bird over Counter for reliability. Skarmory is also the only member of the team who can reliably take on Excadrill if it has Sand Rush, as everything else is outsped and dies. Roost for recovery.

terrakion.gif

zeke (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Quick Attack

Here's where I started to consider threats. I have an Intimidate user and a Defog user and nothing at all for Bisharp yet. If Garchomp goes down and Bisharp gets any type of Attack boost it's good game; I don't want Skarmory to lose Leftovers and get down to one HP. Few Pokemon can take a +2 Sucker Punch, but what if you force them to NOT Sucker Punch? Scarf Terrakion is here to save the day, being able to not only beat Bisharp but many other setup sweepers as well if they so happen to get to +1. Charizard, Mega Gyarados, and speedy Pokemon like Greninja all die to this monster.

azumarill.gif

loaf (Azumarill) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

Azumarill is the perfect lure when equipped with Assault Vest. Go for a Play Rough and then hit the incoming Steel-type with a Knock Off or Waterfall. Perfect for Aegislash switch-ins, as while it doesn't KO it does enough to the point where Garchomp can finish it off. With the Assault Vest Asumarill can even take a Life Orb Thundurus-I's Thunderbolt and knock it out with Waterfall and Aqua Jet.

heatran.gif

passhun (Heatran) (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Roar
- Toxic
Specially Defensive Heatran can come in on Talonflame without fearing Burn like Tyranitar does. Balloon also allows Heatran to check Excadrill instead of helping its Sand Rush like Tyranitar would. Toxic for any Latias that doesn't have Substitute, Roar for any that does. (And other defensive Pokemon, of course)

Awesome team but have you considered expert belt manectric? It works better for me

That is a not so great idea lol. The main things that make Mega Manetric an overall good Pokemon is the huge boost in speed and its access to intimidate. Getting rid of both of these leaves Manetric a very mediocre Pokemon. Also sorry Ayn Randy Savage I would usually make a full rate since you have not received one yet but I happen to be extremely tired so possibly later lol.

Maybe in a lower tier, sure, but not OU.

That's okay, thanks anyways! I'm hoping for a full rate soon.

This team is pretty good. Though I would use Overheat instead of Flamethrower on Manectric for more power as you can just Volt Switch out from the stat lowering.

Hiya, so... I'll be blunt. Mega Venusaur walls your entire team. Sure you may think that terrakion can get a cheecky SE or maybe even garchomps EQ on it, lowering into 2HKO range? But the likelihood is that terrakion with a scarf wont dent Mega Venusaur much and it can heal off any damage and OHKO you back. Hmm then perhaps an SD from garchomp behind a sub would help? it only does 80% ish max. Outrage does OHKO however chances are that a steel/fairy type or opposing lando-ts will break your sub and could hp ice or switch into a fairy if you choose to go for outrage at plus 1. On the note of fairies only skarmory can handle a few of them...mega voir 2HKOs it, so i would watch out for that.

So...replace garchomp with latias/os maybe? Probably latios since you have a defogger and specs psyshock will kill mega venusaur. Other than that the team looks good however the lack of recovery vs stall may worry you, what with stall being the new meta and all. So perhaps take out heatran for a wish passing celebi, with u turn that can nicely round of your voltturn core and offer another check to venusaur and in general powerful fighting types like conkeldurr.

Thats all i think... :)

Can't Chomp just get behind a sub and sd to +6? Im pretty sure mega venu cant break a sub with one giga drain. (some dont even carry it)

It is true that you can get to plus 6 but as a whole it will be walling your team and is worth considering to take out for a special attacker. However the situation you suggest is very idealistic and you will be phased by skarmories and before you know it youll have taken rocks/substitute/small resisted hit damage to the point where priority will knock you out. If you do opt for this set then might i suggest then using him as a suicide SD lead with focus sash, rocks, SD and 2 STAB moves. Not to mention unaware clefable ends your sweep and so does quagsire which will break your subs/stall you out.

Overall: you need to be a bit more realistic with the way you fling garchomp around, im sure some replays would help :)

If garchomp can bring ven

If garchomp can bring it to half skarmory can come in take a maximum of 15.2 an then ko with brave bird. I don't think it is such a big problem.
