Hello, and welcome to my first RMT (and post!) on these forums. I am not really new to competitive battling, as I have been playing since December 2012. Also, if somebody could tell me how to post a picture of a Pokemon, it would be appreciated!
The team:
Excadrill @ Rocky Helmet
Mold Breaker
192 HP/160 Def/156 SpD
Impish
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Rapid Spin
Excadrill here is my lead. It can almost always set up Stealth Rock without a problem because Mold Breaker ignores those pesky Magic Bounce users. Rocky Helmet so that Rapid Spin users can take damage while doing little to Excadrill. The EVs allow it to survive Adamant Talonflame's Flare Blits that has no boosts or damage boosting item. Earthquake is a reliable STAB, while Rock Slide takes care of Talonflame and will always OHKO the common sets. The flinch chance is nice against slower Pokemon. Rapid Spin to remove opponent's hazards that are on my side.
Keldeo @ Fist Plate
Justified
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 SpD
Timid
-Substitute
-Calm Mind
-Surf
-Secret Sword
Standard SubCM set. Keldeo makes an effective late-game sweeper once all faster threats are out. Substitute is to block status. Calm Mind to boost that Special Attack and Defense. Surf and Secret Sword are mandatory STABs that make it a pretty good mixed attacker. Splash Plate is so people can think I am choiced when I use an attack first, and later use Sub when a Pokemon who could stop it switches in.
Latios @ Choice Specs
Levitate
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
Timid
-Draco Meteor
-Psyshock
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power [Fire]
My other special attacker, a bit of an unusual set with Shadow Ball. EVs and nature are standard, while Draco Meteor nukes and Psyshock takes care of the blobs. Thunderbolt is for the water types who might give some trouble to this team. Hidden Power [Fire] is there to hit Scizor, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
252 HP/252 SpD/4 Att
Careful
-Earthquake
-Tailwind
-Toxic
-U-turn
Gliscor makes a pretty good switch-in to most physical attackers, even without investment. EVs are to maximize it's special bulk while the item and ability allow it to heal. Earthquake is a STAB, but is pretty weak. U-turn allows it to get out of tight situations. Tailwind can make Latios faster to nuke stuff much more effectively for a few turns, and U-turn goes pretty well with Tailwind because it lets Gliscor switch to something that can smash stuff. Toxic for some status to get rid of tough walls.
Scizor @ Life Orb
Technician
252 HP/252 Att/4 SpD
Adamant
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Bug Bite
-Pursuit
Scizor is my trapper and main damage dealer. It's use is to weaken the opposing team with powerful, priority Bullet Punches. Bug Bite for another STAB. Pursuit has helped a lot, OHKOing fleeing Espeon and Latios. Item, ability, EVs, and nature are all standard.
Charizard @ Charizardite X
Blaze ===> Tough Claws
252 Att/252 Spe/4 HP
Jolly
-Dragon Dance
-Flare Blits
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
Charizard is used to take out particularly annoying Pokemon (I'm looking at you Rotom-W and Sableye), and just stuff I can't generally take out. Dragon Dance to boost, Flare Blits and Dragon Claw for STAB. I'm thinking of replacing Dragon Claw with Outrage so I can use it once Steels are gone, thoughts? Earthquake is so I don't get walled by Heatran.
All in all, this team is probably my best so far, and has done quite well. I have a way to get around pretty much everything, but if you see a threat I don't, please let me know with a relatively good check/counter to it.
