ORAS OU OU Balanced Team, might need some help

Well first of all let me tell you that this team started from Talonflame and if it´s possible I won't like any change at all with him unless it's necessary; second of all I don't know if this team is good enough or the one I had on mind was far better; maybe you guys could tell me which team was better, If it's possible to make like a combination of both or what to improve in this team or in the other team, all sugestions are welcome.

Talonflame @ Leftovers (Might change it for life orb)
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn

This is one of the most standar set's with talonflame so assume all of you know what it does, however if you don't I'll tell you; Brave Bird for Priority+STAB and maybe super effective damage (This is the most powrfull priority move.) Roost for recovery, Flare Blitz for a powrfull STAB move and U-turn for the hit and run technique.

621.png

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Clear Smog

This is also one of the most standar set's in Amoonguss but it makes a great synergy with talonflame, specially when SPATT's come in, it can wall very well many water and electric types; it has Spore for obvious reasons, Sludge Bomb for coverage and possible poison chance, Giga Drain for coverage and a little more sustain and last but not least Clear Smog to stop set up sweepers.

477.png

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 188 Def / 72 Spe
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Roost

Gliscor is a great partner for
Talonflame becuase it is a good check to most of his counter's such as Tyranitar, Excadrill, Heatran, etc... Anyway it has Knock Off for obvious reasons, it has EQ for a powerfull STAB and also a great coverage, toxic to Stall some pokemon and Roost because I don't want Gliscor to faint.

558.png

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- X-Scissor

This is a ''normal''
Excadrill if you have Tyranitar as the companion and I do, EQ for a powrfull STAB and coverage, Rock Slide also as coverage, Iron Head for STAB and X-Scissor as coverage move; not much to say about this one.

248.png

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Atk / 96 SpA
Naughty Nature
- Pursuit
- Flamethrower
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam

This set is a Lure Bulky
Tyranitar, seeing that my team struggles a little with Landorus it has Ice Beam also because its a good coverage move, it has Flamethrower for Ferrothorn's because outside of Talonflame I dont have anything to deal with it also because I don't want the massive recoil damage, Pursuit for traping Latis and Gengar's and EQ as a good move to have; this Tyranitar also gives a check to weather teams.

121.png

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Seeing the lack of Special Sweepers I decided to put
Starmie because not only it has great Speed and Special Attack but because it is also a Hazard remover, my team isn't affected too much with hazards but Talonflame so I decided that it is important to give him a little help; Scald as STAB and chance to burn, Thunderbolt for coverage as well as Ice Beam, Rapid Spin to help Talonflame.

After I finished this team I noticed that I don't have a Mega Evolution something super important also I have a great disadvantage with Mega Lopunny, Mega Metagross, Mega Venusar, Mega Charizard Y, Keldeo and Landorus Therian so I started thinking if I should remove
Excadrill, Tyranitar and Starmie for (First remplacement) Conkeldur/Keldeo, (Second remplacement) Mega Metagross/Gallade/Venusaur and (Third remplacement) Mandibuzz/Skarmory/Mew; however if you guys have any other sugestions I'll gladly accept it.

Some of you might think that my teams gets owned because I don't have a Mega but so far I have got very few defeats with this team although I have suffered to win...
Team Wins & Looses - 17/6.

[Side Note: This team might be great for OU No Mega Tier]

Ok first up, your talonflame set is kind of bad. I would run sword dance over u-turn if you really wanted to keep that set, mainly cos talon is just far too weak with no boosting option or band. Scarf excadril with tyranitar is also sub optimal, run sand rush instead imo, and give it rapid spin. this frees up your spinner slot and you can take off starmie for a mega. offensive starmie should be running analytical anyways.

hello, interesting sand team we have here, as you've already said it, the team needs a mega to work even better, giving a thorough look at the team noticed that Gliscor does not seem to be so beneficial to the team, of course, has an excellent immunity to ground, but lose offensive presence to the team, many also spread need to be optimized; I found several problems in dealing Specs Volcanion , and you have a bad match up against Ferrothorn+ bulky ground builds, these builds can get their hazards on the field, putting pressure Talon, and Starmie preventing them from working as they would like, also stall builds give many problems seen your lack of a Stallbreaker hard to deal with for these teams; I noticed that suffers Sd Bisharp, if he comes at + 2 is difficult to deal with, although you have Excadrill, and Gliscor, and you could not even beat him trying to get him to sleep with Spore, as many Bisharp are running Lum berry; the team also lacks a rock setter, which is very important for every team, help to put pressure on the opposing team, making indirect damages; Finally, Weavile and Kyurem-b are smaller threats, since you have decent checks to beat them, but I think you need a more secure checks, and is more synergistic in a sand team. My rate will improve the team against these threats, making them more easy to deal with and make this even more competitive team.

First, since your weakness to Specs Volcanion, and the lack of a mega evolution slot that works well in a sand team, i'd suggest you to use BoltBeam mega Latias over Gliscor, mega Latias is a great mega evolution, has a bulk impressive and a very variable moveset, I chose BoltBeam because your team has problems with Garchomp, Volcanion and BD Azumarill, also mega Latias helps the team to better deal Keldeo, this set runs Thunder wave, useful to have more speed control to beat mega Lopunny, Tornadus Therian; Another very good option is to use CM Stored power+ Reflect type, this set is capable of making MLatias a feared Stallbreaker, who can copy the opponent typing, so that it can cope with in 1v1 for example Ferrothorn, Heatran and Clefable, without effects from Leech seed, and Toxic, and in the case of Heatran, also by the burn. Latias is very synergistic in the team, it has a lot of synergy with Ttar that traps Alakazam, latios and Latias, and even with Excadrill, which eliminates Heatran, Metagross, and fast threats. I'd suggest using 192 spe timid to outspeed max spe Chomp and kill it with Ice beam.

After adding mega Latias, we have made the team even more weak to Bisharp, Weavile and Kyurem-b, also missing us a Wallbreaker which can beat Ferrothorn + bulky ground as I mentioned above, then suggest using Specs Keldeo over Starmie, Keldeo is check in excellence for Weavile and Bisharp in ou, also is a great Wallbreaker hard hitting the offensive teams, has much use in sand teams, which to eliminate, and put pressure on bulky steel as Skarm, Ferrothorn, which are problematic for this archetype, has good synergy with Mlatias, tyranitar Excadrill and also is a good check of mega Lopunny, Terrakion, which are very common now, Keldeo puts pressure bulky ground as lando, Garchomp, hippo, which are boring to deal with for Excadrill in exchange Excadrill provides a cleanup to electric Pokemon, and being also fast in sand even beats the scary Tornadus Therian and Mzam.

amoonguss.png
(this can be an optional )
finally, given the weakness to Analytic Starmie, Gyarados, Kyurem-black and sand Offense, I would suggest to use Ferrothorn> Amoonguss, Ferrothorn also helps your team against Rain teams, which are very hard to deal with, also Ferrothorn is a better counter to Manaphy, and it becomes really annoying for bulky teams that ride mega Slowbro, it also provides Spikes, these combined to Stealth Rock, form a hazard stacking core, which puts pressure to stall and offensive builds also becomes really problematic for teams that do not have grass type, because it can literally use Leech seed everywhere, finally, it is a good switch for Latios , Dragonite (if they do not run Fire coverage).

Now we think optimize spreads n and the set of the Pokemon that were upon already in the team, we start from Tyranitar, given that you are missing a rocker, and also a countermeasure for mega Zam, I recommend to use Chople berry support Tyranitar, this set allows you to have a good bulk to counter latios's draco, and Chople berry allows you to beat in 1v1 mega Zam, Tornadus-Therian, Gengar, and mega Garde, i'd suggest you to use Ice beam as 4th move slot, it helps you to deal better with landorus-t; Now we fix Excadrill, then Sand force+Scarf in a sand team seems a very limited choice, I would suggest to go for Sand rush, helping to tackle offensive teams, being a great revenge killer, suggest using Air balloon as item, this should help your match up against other Sand teams, i' suggest using this set: Iron head / Rapid spin / rock slide / earthquake, this set provides you an hazard remover, and a good coverage useful to beat Flying-types as Torn-t, Talonflame, Charizard Y; Finally i'd suggest you to use BU + WoW SpD Talonflame, the team lack a stallbreaker, so this is a perfect choice to deal better with fat teams, i' suggest running 64 spe for outspeed and burn jolly Exca without sand up, also Talonflame is a great check to Clefable, and a good counter for mega Scizor, this capability is very useful because it allows you to weaken all the counters for sand team, as Slowbro, Rotom-w, Skarmory, Landorus-t, Tankchomp and Hippo with Will-o-Wisp.
