Calm Mind allows Tapu Koko to take advantage of its high Speed to become incredibly hard to play around for opposing offense teams, as it even outspeeds and OHKOes fast revenge killers like Greninja and Weavile. Tapu Koko makes use of Twinkle Tackle as a remarkably efficient neutral hit that threatens Ground-types like Garchomp, Landorus-T, Seismitoad, and the uncommon Hippowdon after a boost. Twinkle Tackle is additionally useful for other neutral targets that are not Ground-types, like Serperior, Mega Charizard X, and opposing Tapu Koko. Dazzling Gleam also generally synergizes well with Tapu Koko's Thunderbolt, as it can hit Dragon-types like Kommo-o and Mega Latias super effectively and Ground-types and Grass-types like Landorus-T and Serperior neutrally. Roost allows Tapu Koko to consistently set up on special attackers like Zapdos and Assault Vest Magearna by making use of Special Defense boosts to outheal anything thrown at it.

Set Details
========

A Timid nature is used to outspeed Weavile and Greninja, which are two crucial targets. 8 HP and 4 Defense EVs ensure that Tapu Koko survives a +2 High Jump Kick from Hawlucha after Stealth Rock. Tapu Koko can also run a spread of 24 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpA / 216 Spe to survive a Leaf Blade from Kartana after Stealth Rock while still outspeeding Weavile.

Usage Tips
========

Despite its unimpressive defensive stats, Tapu Koko's great typing allows it to switch in on Zapdos and Tornadus-T and threaten to set up. Tapu Koko is most effective when Pokemon that can revenge kill it, like Choice Scarf Landorus-T, are out of the picture, as there is very little some teams can do to Tapu Koko once it gets going due to its Speed. Tapu Koko should save its Z-Move until after setting up to reach crucial OHKO ranges such as defensive Landorus-T and Serperior, as well as efficiently picking off chipped Seismitoad and Gastrodon. It can be helpful to keep an eye on Tapu Koko's health, as at high HP it can set up on the aforementioned special attacking Pokemon as well as check Hawlucha. Tapu Koko is incredibly threatening against hyper offense teams, as it can freely set up on the incredibly common lead Mew, force a Calm Mind against an unboosted Serperior due to its immunity to Glare, and threaten to OHKO Kommo-o and Gyarados without a boost. In matchups that are too volatile for Tapu Koko to safely set up a Calm Mind, its Z-Move can be used to maximize damage, being even stronger than terrain-boosted Thunderbolt.

Team Options
========

This set is best at supporting offense and balance teams that appreciate its incredible matchup against opposing offense and hyper offense teams. Spikes support from Greninja or Ferrothorn can chip down Gastrodon, opposing Ferrothorn, and Chansey for Tapu Koko, which is helpful as they are some of Tapu Koko's best checks. Defensive Landorus-T and Rotom-W can handle Sand Rush Excadrill and Mega Swampert, which are two blazingly fast weather threats that are well equipped against Tapu Koko due to their typing; these teammates can also bring the relatively frail Tapu Koko safely onto the field with slow pivoting. Fire-types like Mega Charizard X, Heatran, and Victini can easily threaten Grass-types like Ferrothorn and Tapu Bulu for Tapu Koko and appreciate Tapu Koko threatening Fire-resistant Pokemon like Toxapex, Slowbro, Mega Latias, and Kommo-o. Kartana can plow through Ground-types like Gastrodon and bait in the likes of Zapdos, Tornadus-T, and Skarmory for Tapu Koko to take advantage of, as well as blocking Leech Seed attempts from Ferrothorn. Wallbreakers like Mega Charizard X, Swords Dance Gliscor, and Kyurem-B appreciate Tapu Koko's ability to force switches, and in return, they can clear the way for Tapu Koko to clean late-game.

Calm Mind allows Tapu Koko to take advantage of its incredible Speed to become incredibly hard to play around for opposing offense teams, as even fast revenge killers like Greninja and Weavile are outsped and OHKOed. Tapu Koko makes use of Fairium Z to power up Dazzling Gleam into a remarkably efficient neutral hit that threatens Ground-types like Garchomp, Landorus-T, Seismitoad, and the uncommon Hippowdon after a boost. (Other non-ground type targets? smth from weakened tapu bulu, serperior, charizard-x, other tapu koko, mega tyranitar... ) Dazzling Gleam also generally synergizes well with Tapu Koko's Thunderbolt, as it can hit Dragon-types like Kommo-o and Mega Latias super effectively and Ground-types and Grass-types like Landorus-T and Serperior neutrally. Roost allows Tapu Koko to consistently set up on special attackers like Zapdos and Assault Vest Magearna by making use of Special Defense boosts to outheal anything thrown at it.

A Timid nature is used to outspeed Weavile and Greninja, two crucial targets. (a spread with 8 hp 4 defense allows koko to live a +2 hjk from lucha after rocks while a spread of 24 hp and 16 defense allows it to live a leafblade from kartana after rocks. The first spread sould take the evs out of spa and the second out of speed since it brings it above weaviles speed)

Usage Tips
========

Despite its unimpressive defensive stats, Tapu Koko's great typing allows it to come in on Kommo-o, Zapdos, and Tornadus-T and threaten to set up, although it has to be careful of toxic, poison jab and earthquake from kommo-o. Tapu Koko is most effective when Pokemon that can revenge kill it, like Choice Scarf Landorus-T, are out of the picture, as there is very little some teams can do to Tapu Koko once it gets going due to its Speed. Tapu Koko should save its Z-Move until after setting up to reach crucial KO ranges such as defensive Landorus-T and Serperior, as well as efficiently picking off chipped Seismitoad and Gastrodon. It can be helpful to keep an eye on Tapu Koko's health, as at high percentages it can set up on the aforementioned special attacking Pokemon as well as check Hawlucha. (koko is great into HO teams since it finds frequent opportunities to calm mind against pokemon such as lead mew, not yet set up kommo-o and gyarados and can even get a boost infront of serperior if it is at +0. HO also tends to struggle to kill it due to generally relying on para to slow faster threats down which koko is immune to. In other matchups, due to the lack of pivot moves, it is a good idea to use koko to force switches and double into a teammate to gain advantages. In games where koko isnt able to make good use of calm mind, its Z move can be used to grab KOs on pokemon that think they are safe to eat a normal move.)

Team Options

(What type of teams does this set fit on? Why is it a good choice for these teams?) Spikes support from Greninja or Ferrothorn can chip down Gastrodon, opposing Ferrothorn, and Chansey for Tapu Koko, which is helpful as they are some of Tapu Koko's best checks. Defensive Landorus-T and Rotom-W can handle Sand Rush Excadrill and Mega Swampert, two blazingly fast weather threats that are well equipped against Tapu Koko due to their typing while also bringing koko in via slower pivot moves since it is a bit frail. Fire-types like Charizard-Mega-X, Heatran and Victini can easily threaten Grass-types like Ferrothorn and Tapu Bulu for Tapu Koko, and appreciate Tapu Koko threatening Fire-resistant Pokemon like Toxapex, Slowbro, Mega Latias, and Kommo-o in return. Kartana makes for a great partner as it can plow through Ground-types like Gastrodon and bait in the likes of Zapdos, Tornadus-T, and Skarmory for Tapu Koko to take advantage of, as well as blocking Leech Seed attempts from Ferrothorn. Breakers and progress makers such as Charizard-X, Swords Dance Gliscor and Kyurem-Black can benefit from the switches that Tapu Koko forces while also clearing the way for it to come in and sweep late game.
