- In Depth-

Azelf
482.png

Naive @ Colbur berry
Levitate
-Stealth Rock
-U-Turn
-Explosion
-Taunt
8HP/140Atk/144Spd/216Spe

This is my lead. I look to set up stealth rocks early. Taunt helps to do this against slower leads, and also stops others from setting up rocks. I can u-turn when in trouble to do good damage on whatever was out while switching to a reliable counter. Most leads are very easy for me yo handle especially lead machamps. After it is done setting up, i can u-turn or explode for great damage. Thank you for the suggestions in the comments he is working great.

Starmie
121.png

Timid @ Life orb
Natural Cure
-Hydro Pump
-Ice beam
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
4HP/252Spa/252Spe

Starmie has a great move pool and with this set, it can hit many pokes from super effective damage. Starmies speed also helps in late game situations, Recover is used here instead of rapid spin because my team is not too weak to stealth rocks, and it negates damage taken from life orb. Stramie is nice to have around for both Infernape and Scizor, taking water and fire attacks nicely.

Scizor
212.png

Amamant @ Choice Band
Technician
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-U-Turn
-Pursuit
8Spe/248HP/252Atk

Scizor is pretty standard. With good defences and a great attack stat it is hard to go wrong with this move set. He can easily come in against gengar and other weak psychics or ghosts and threaten them with bullet punch of pursuit and his powerful u-turn is great for scouting. All in all this is one pokemon i would not replace on my team.

Infernape
392.png

Jolly @ Life Orb
Blaze
-Fire punch
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge
-Swords Dance
4Spd/252Atk/252Spe

This infernape is great to have around. Not many people anticipate the swords dance, and he is useful for cleaning up at the end. He also adds an element of suprise. He can also take fire attacks for Scizor. I have only tested this infernape a few times its ok but i am considering switching him for something a little more useful.

Flygon
330.png

Jolly @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
-Earthquake
-Outrage
-ThunderPunch
-U-Turn
4hp/252Attk/252spe

This pokemon is brand new to my team thanks to the wonderful suggestions in the comments. He seems to be working wonderfully so far. He is a great revenge killer. And him and scizor have a great time using U-turn to eachother aswell as azelf. He is a great team player and a wonderful new addition. Thank you again for suggesting him.

Snorlax
143.png

Careful- Leftovers
Thick Fat
-Curse
-Body Slam
-Crunch
-Rest
216SpD/188HP/104Def

I recently replaced my Blissey for this snorlax. He has proved great succes, when i had blissey he was very easy to set up on and very hard for my more offensive playstyle to deal with. With this snorlax i can easily take all the special attacks needed and start to set up curse. He can even go for a full sweep. He may be a tank but he has great sweeping pottential.

Pokemon that used to be on the team.
Azelf
482.png

Naive @ Focus Sash
Levitate
-Stealth Rock
-Fire blast
-Explosion
-Taunt
4HP/252Spa/252Spe

Swampert
260.png

Relaxed @ Leftovers
Torrent
-Roar
-Ice Beam
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
52Spd/216Def/240HP

Blissey
242.png

Bold- Leftovers
Natural Cure
-Softboiled
-Thunder Wave
-Aromatherapy
-Seismic Toss
4Spe/252HP/252Def

Please rate my team, and offer any suggestions. Thanks in advance; you comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey, your team isn't 2 bad there.
1st of all, I would rather not everyone in the world uses an azelf lead, Personally, I would use a Jirachi lead, they are really fearsome and it smooths out some of your weaknesses.

Jirachi
Jolly nature
@Choice Scarf
252Atk/4SpD/252spe
-Trick
-Iron head
-Fire punch
-Ice punch

Or If you wanted a special one cos ur Azelf is special try this:

Jirachi
Timid nature
@Choice Scarf
252SpA/4SpD/252Spe
-Trick
-Psychic
-T-bolt
-Grass knot/Shadow ball/Stealth Rocks

Personally, i prefer the physical one, but the special one may fit into ur team better seeing as you don't particularly have a lot of Special power.

You also don't have a spinblocker which is a MUST HAVE in today's metagame:

Rotom-H
Bold nature
@Leftovers
120Hp/252Def/136SpD
-Rest
-Sleep talk
-T-Bolt
-Shadow ball

This guy, unlike jirachi is a MUST HAVE, although it is kinda hard where to fit him into your team, possibly instead of starmie of infernape cos infernape is plain useless, swords dance while it may take the opponent by surprise is still useless cos anything to everything will take a hit from his still mediocre attack stat and then swamp him in one hit (Vaporeon I love you)

Other than that, Maybe you could've been a little more original on your other movesets like Blissey, Oh, and stick avalanche on Swampert its miles better than Ice beam.

Overall its a pretty good team, and good luck with it.

I disagree with the Jirachi choice. He only aggravates a weakness to Fire and Ground. And unlike Azelf he doesn't have access to Taunt which is extremely important against other leads.

I'd suggest giving Uturn to your Azelf as a three step 1. Taunt - 2. Stealth Rock - U-turn to Infernape / Scizor who will be more than happy to use the opportunity to do some serious damage / Set up.

Its true that Fire Blast is excellent against Metagross leads, but U-Turn will give Azelf a reason to stay alive and keep playing the Taunt game every time a sweeper tries to set-up on you or when you see their lead come back in to Stealth Rock again.

If you want a bulkier lead to play the Taunt game then Gliscor has access to Stealth Rock, U-Turn and Taunt aswell. And your Swampert is more than happy to take Ice Beams / Surfs for him.

Overall I like your team, especially your Swampert. He looks like he would be a bitch to take down.

Hi misnos, congrats on your first RMT! ^^

Most of your team looks to be quite good, but there are a couple of changes that would help point it towards the right direction. What I'm stating is that your team seems to be aiming towards an offensive theme, but certain members (Swampert and Blissey) slow down the pace considerably and are therefore out of place. The changes you make are up to you, but I'll point out any recommendations that I feel will benefit your team without much doubt.

Notable Problems

  • 366_2_0.png
    Lead Machamp
Due to your use of the traditional Focus Sash variant of Azelf, common leads such as Machamp put you in an unfavorable situation right from the beginning of the match. It can survive any attack except Explosion without a problem, and KO Azelf with a combination of Payback + Bullet Punch. This means that you are forced between setting up Stealth Rock and having something else on your team take heavy damage, or taking it Machamp with Explosion at the cost of no Stealth Rock.

Suggestions

  • Use Colbur Azelf
To begin with, I'll address your lead. Focus Sash Azelf is a rather outdated set in the current metagame, with the reason being that it loses to some other common leads such as Machamp. With this in mind, I feel that Colbur Azelf is a much more effective lead set currently, and that you should try it out over your current Azelf. Here is the set:

487.png

Azelf @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 8 HP/140 Atk/144 SpD/216 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Explosion
- U-Turn

This set is very similar to the set that you're currently using, but it has the notable advantage of being able to beat Machamp. Due to Colbur Berry and its increased bulk, it is able to survive a Payback followed by a Bullet Punch from the standard lead Machamp, meaning it can safely set up Stealth Rock and use Explosion to take it out. Besides that, the only difference is the addition of U-turn, which gives you a great way to escape from faster Taunt leads such as Aerodactyl or any other unfavorable match-ups.

To avoid changing your team's structure too much, I'm not actually going to suggest specific replacements for Swampert and Blissey, although I feel that it would be much to your benefit to replace both. The best results will be gained from testing, but my advice would be to try out Pokemon that are able to defeat threats that Swampert and Blissey cover. For instance, Swampert checks threats weak to ground such as Metagross and Tyranitar, so something like a Scarf Flygon may be a good offensive replacement for it. It will be useful to go over your team a few times in the end to check if it still possesses any notable weaknesses to common threats, so that you can avoid any unfortunate opposing sweeps.

Good luck with your team!

I second the suggestion of Colbur Azelf over your current one, its just better than SashZelf in almost every way.

One thing I notice is that you run both Flare Blitz and Life Orb on Infernape. With Sand Stream so prevalent in OU, its suicide, literally. I suggest you replace Flare Blitz with Fire Punch(you lose a lot of power, but after a Swords Dance its still pretty powerful for late game) or go with Expert Belt or something instead of Life Orb.

I also think you should go for Scarf Flygon in place of Swampert, since NPApe with Close Combat gives major troubles after Starmie is down(which is very likely, with it being weak to Pursuit and U-turn). ScarfGon with ThunderPunch checks Gyarados as well, who could also be troublesome once it gets a DD up.
