Hello, i'm here to ask you advice to improve this team.
At the beginning I just created it for fun, and to improve my skill for the weather war.
The idea was using the hail, hazard and any other residual damage to annoy and hurt the opponent, and then using a versatile revenge killer to end the game.
It has worked surprisingly well, so I would like to make it a really competitive team if you think it is possible.
Team at a glance :
Team building process :
Abomasnow (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SAtk / 96 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Blizzard
- Leech seed
- Substitute
- Giga Drain
This pokemon is just here to start the hail, he his a bit frail to be an efficient staller, and do not have enough speed to be a great attacker.
But with substitute and leech seed he can wall quite well different counters, force switches, this is really useful. Two stabs which are both usefull, a powerfull ice type against dragons, gliscor and anything that doesn't resist it. Grass type against Politoed, Quaqsire, Starmie... and to have some HP back.
I could run a physical attacker, but I really prefer both special stabs.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Waterfall
His typing is really amazing for me, as I have many fire/electric weaknesses, and four grass resistance. He has an interesting bulk, SR and roar are the main reasons why I choose him, the two stabs can be useful against threats such as Volcarona.
Maybe I should give him more SDef.
Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Over Coat
EVs: 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Knock off
- Taunt
- Roost
- Toxik
She doesn't look like a terrible monster, but she his when her main counters are down. She is not 2KO by most of non stab thunder or ice beam, and most generally by any special attack without boosts, and can wall many threats with roost. He's not too slow, so he can taunt Ferothorn, foretress or skarmory, and is sometimes used as a stalbreaker, with knock of to negate leftovers, and taunt when the opponent is not immune.
His trait is usefull to stay, he is just really weak to any status move. A really nice member of this team.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb/Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Recover
- Hidden Power [fire]
- Psyshock
The usefull late game cleaner. An interesting coverage, recover is needed as I really have to keep him alive, Hidden power because Scizor just always switch in, Psyshock for fighting type and special walls, the powerfull stab for non steal.
I like the power of life orb, but that hurt, especially with the hail, so I might use expert belt. I don't want a scarfer, I don't want him to switch while he could kill.
His typing is also interesting for easy switches in.
If you have other ideas for this spot I could change him.
Tentacruel (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calme Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Toxik Spikes
- Blizzard
- Scald
Very usefull, good typing (my only ice resistance...), nice movepool (my only hail "abuser" apart from Abomasnow...). Rain Dish is really usefull against rain teams, but I might use Liquid Ooze. He is very fast for a wall, so he can often spin. Toxik spikes are a great help against many teams.
Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SDef
Malin Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Brave Bird
A wonderfull wall, and a usefull joker with Sturdy to phase dangerous set uppers. Can wall many teams when his counters are over. Spikes are awesome if there is no spinner, and he is able to spread them many times. He is also surprisingly often used to kill with Brave Bird.
As you can see, many thing might be changed. I have three annoying electric weaknesses (but two resistances and one immunity), I don't have a Spin Blocker (maybe Jellicent over Mandibuzz, but I will miss Over coat and the underrated knock off). I might run a priority user for efficient revenge killing, or maybe a set upper for late game sweeping.
I'm interested in any advice, concerning the sets or even if you think of different pokemon.
Concerning the main threats (I'll do a complete list later), I have problems with aggressive volt-turn users, other hail teams, some sun teams. I'm quite successful against rain and sand, and most of weatherless one if they are not too violent.
Thanks for reading and rating.

Team building process :
Not much to say about it.
Abomasnow is obvious, as I wanted a hail team.
I wanted three different pokemon to lay hazards, to be able to face the death of one of them ; I also needed phazing, and a spinner.
Skarmory and Swampert is a really interesting defensive core, and with Tentacruel to tank special hits, I found an interesting trio who could do what I expected them to do.
Then Latios came out easily as the revenge killer, because of different qualities :
- Great speed and spe atk without boost, good moovepool
- Not too frail
- A reliable recovery moove
- Psyshock to hit special walls
For the last spot, I tried first of all Sygiliph with Cosmik power for a good stall, but he was fragile before setting up. Then prankster Murcrow with eviolite had a chance to shine, but he was still fragile, and didn't like the hail. Then I found Mandibuzz, a great staller with Overcoat and a great support movepool.
