[OU] Jolt-Pass Rain Team~

This team originally started off as a cripple team with Scarf Latios with Trick and such, but I just love Jolteon's potential to sub/pass. This RMT is basically to get more help and improvements to make this baton passing team more potent then it already is. All constructive criticism is welcomed. So lets get right to it.

Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

~Physical Wall/Hazards: I would sometimes lead with this when the team preview doesn't show any threatening leads. Pretty much set up hazards and stall. When ever a pesky fighting type comes out, I switch into Vaporeon or Gastrodon to wall. Same with expecting fire type moves.

Politoed (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Scald
- Protect
- Encore

~Rain: Main source of weather. This set is to primarily make this thing last for a while, if not, all game. Toxic is for stall purposes or for things that think they can just set up on me. Scald is for the potential burn also to ruin physical sweepers. Protect is for scouting when I lead. Encore is also there to ruin potential sweepers and basically get a free switch in to whatever.

Scizor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Roost

~Bulky Swords Dance set: This set works fantastically with Jolteon when it comes to receiving the substitute. The idea is basically giving Scizor enough time to set SD and sweep. I think if I replace Roost with U-turn, I would be able to switch out from Magnezone and other trappers alike.

Gastrodon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover

~Tank: Average Gastro set. Basically taking electric/water/resistances and deal accordingly. I don't like really how weak it is to grass, but the two resistances really make up for it. Plus, I got Ferro and Scizor to deal with anything like Celebi and Ferro. EQ is to take out things that could be specially bulky like Jirachi or Heatran.

Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rest
- Scald
- Roar
- Toxic

~Physical Wall: Takes hits and rests under the rain. Roar is there to get rid of sweepers when politoed is not there. Toxic for obvious softening of walls and sweepers alike. I love ruining someone's Terrakion or Cloyster with Vaporeon.

Jolteon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Baton Pass
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

~Baton Passer: Baton Passing sub to Scizor most likely. If it's very early in the game, I could also pass the sub to a wall that needs it. Most of the time, I switch this thing on Magnezone or any other electric type that doesn't carry a threatening move and sub up. Once they switch, I can just pass the sub accordingly. Tbolt is there for 100% accuracy. Thunder is nice, but I don't like heavily relying on rain to make things work. Hidden Power Ice takes out pesky Dragons and Gliscor. Leftovers is there to preserve more HP when a sub needs to be passed.

Known threats:

1. Magnezone: Even with Gastro and Jolteon taking the electric type attacks, there's always that potential trap with either Scizor or Ferro. Extremely annoying.

2. Celebi: This thing can really just do about anything. When I know it doesn't have HP Fire, then I should be good. Otherwise, there will be a lot of working around this one threat.

3. Ferrothorn: I think I have only one pokemon to deal with this.... Ferrothorn. Yeah, that in itself can cause major problems.

4. Grass and Steel types in general.

Heya, interesting team you have here. SubPassing is pretty cool but you don't seem to be abusing it as much as you could, and in addition you have some alarming defensive holes which will cause you trouble.
Okay, so my first point is that you don't have a great win condition, e.g. something that can cause havoc if it receives an intact Sub from Jolteon. Scizor is easily walled at +2 or even +4 by a LOT of common defensive mons. What you really want is something along the lines of Agility Landorus-I, which can sweep easily with a Sub and has pretty nice synergy with Jolteon.

Second thing. You've got no Fighting or Ground resistances, so literally any user of those moves will eat you. Breloom, for instance, can set up on nearly your entire team and then sweep you cold. The reason you've got this problem is that you've overloaded the team with Water types, which have redundant synergy.

I think the simplest change I can suggest to patch over these problems is to use a standard Tentacruel in place of Vaporeon, and something along the lines of NastyPass Celebi instead of Gastrodon. Tentacruel gives you a fantastic spinner and staller; Celebi gives you a solid check to all types of Fighting and Ground type offense, while having great synergy as a Substitute receiver from Jolteon.

There are definitely more complicated changes you could make to improve the team further, but I don't want to alter the team too much, so just try those suggestions out and see if you like them. Hope I've helped, good luck!

I agree about too many Water Types on your team. I know you don't like relying on Rain for Thunder, but you could certainly use a Thunder and/or Hurricane abuser on your team. Maybe Tornadus Incarnate, or even Dragonite, who has Thunder and Waterfall to further abuse the Rain. I do feel that you could benefit from a Dragon Type on your team, as Dragon plus Water has nearly unresisted neutral coverage. Hope I helped!
