OU Mega Aggron

This is my Second Gen 6 Team. I was looking at Mega Aggron and liked what I saw. Ive always wanted to use Aggron on a team, but I just never got around to it, Until now. I pretty well got all the movesets off Smogon.

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder
- Sticky Web

This is my lead. Ive never, EVER used Galvantula last gen. I liked it, but it just didn't have anything going for it that worked. But with Gen 6 came Sticky Web, and my team likes Sticky Web. I really didnt change anything from what was recommended on the site. I like the fact that he has one job and one job only, Set up Sticky Web. Anything after that is bonus.

Trevenant @ Lum Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 Spd
Impish Nature
- Horn Leech
- Will-O-Wisp
- Earthquake
- Rest

I really like Trevenant's typing. His main purpose is to block Spinners, and take Ferrothorn's Leech seeds. I went with Lum Berry over a Sitrus berry as he gets enough Heal from Horn leech and Rest. Ive been noticing he really doesn't get much action, except maybe letting off a few Will-O-Wisps (which have come in handy a few times). I think if there was a Pokemon on this team to replace, this may be the one that could be replaced.

Florges (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect

I decided my Team needed a Cleric. Ive never used a cleric before now. Florges had everything I was looking for, heal and status removal, which it does rather well in my opinion.

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw

This team needs a Spinner, and from reading other threads, I decided on Excadrill. I like the fact its a more offensive spinner, and can take out spin blockers with shadow Claw. I went with the Gen 5 Set, as I couldn't really find a Gen 6 set. Im not sure if I should put Rock-slide on this guy, for I find I have trouble with TalonFlame.

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Swords Dance

This is my revenge killer. I went with a Sharp Beak over Life orb, mainly cause I think he would suffer to much Recoil. He is very effective and can pretty much hit everything rather hard, with or without a sword dance.

Aggron @ Aggronite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SDef / 16 Def
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- Thunder Wave
- Earthquake

This is my main guy, and why I built this team. I really like his bulk and this moveset. T-Wave with Sticky Web is awesome. Ive opted for Iron Head over Heavy Slam, mainly for more consistant damage. I find that this guy hits very hard, and can take out pretty much anything that doesnt resist it. The only downside is that he doesnt really have a reliable source of recovery outside of Florgres.

The biggest Problem to this team that Ive found, is that opposing TalonFlame's cause me a lot of headaches. I think my best solution to this problem, without having to change my team up to much, is to give Excadrill Rock Slide, but im not sure if thats really my BEST option.

I welcome and thank you for your input.

I think that the only pokemon I would consider replacing would be trevenant. He is a great stall, but there are other better spin blockers to use. Sableye gets prankster so he can taunt defog users like mandibuzz. He can also do the same to ferrothorn's leech seed. Also, since you have aromatherapy support, you could maybe give M-aggron rest over stealth rock. All things aside though, good team.

Hm....I never even considered Sableye. I think Ill look more into it, cause I do have to agree with you, Trevenant is considering replacing.

I would rather not have rest on my M.Aggron, I just think it would be too much switching for my taste. IF anything, I might switch out Stealth Rocks for Rockslide, as a way to deal with TalonFlame.

To deal with your Talonflame problem, you could try a Donphan instead of Excadrill. Using Rock slide in Excadrill doesn´t solve the problem because Talonflame kills him with Flare Blitz anyways.

I suggest this set for Donphan:

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Ice Shard
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin

With this spread Donphan can realiable switch on Talonflame taking like 35% from either Brave Bird and Flare Blitz and you can proceed to threating him with Rock slide. He also has Rapid spin to replace Excadrill´s role

Never, ever use Florges. Sylveon is 100% better. just take out Aromatherapy and Moonblast and replace those with Heal Bell and Hyper voice.

SaMaLo- Yeah...Ill give Donphan a Try. I had Donphan on a Gen 5 team and I was impressed with him. So Ill try him again.

bobbyvaporeon- I looked into Sylveon....and I was unimpressed with it. Florgres has more of what im looking for.

I think Bisharp would be useful on your team to counter Defogers because it gets a x2 Atk raise when Defog is used against it. But be carful about having 3 pokemon weak to fighting& ground& fire. If you use it I would replace Exca with starmie or tentacruel since they both resist fire&fighting

Eh........I personally, dont see how Bisharp would fit onto the team. I dont think he's really needed.

I might look into Starmie though to replace Exca. Its speed and movepool would offer some needed coverage I think.

Starmie is a superb Spinner, but I would not recommend him. He is ubiquitous with the Spinner position like Ferrothorn is with hazard support. Basically any knowledgeable players have a counter. I would either keep Excadrill or take SaMaLo's advice.

Hey there! Gonna share a few thoughts on the team.

I too believe that you should replace Trevenant with something else. You say that you want your Ghost to be a spinblocker, and I think Aegislash is a better Pokemon for the job. Gonna put down one set. He can take on one of the best spinblockers, Excadrill, and can switch against Starmie and force it out. I also second the change of Florges to Sylveon, as it is practically better at everything.Since your Aegislash has a balloon, I would switch Exca's item from Air Balloon to Choice Scarf. Seeing as your team is overall quite slow, and you could need a secondary win condition, CS Excadrill could be a good addition. He also works as a failsafe is Sticky Web gets Defogged. Below is a set. This also gives you a second way of getting past Talonflame. Why do you have Jolly nature on Talonflame? Adamant will be so much better, as you really don't need the Speed. Good luck teambuilding!
