(OU) My first B/W Team

Hi Everyone :)

I just started playing Pokemon black a few days ago and now i am trying to get a good team together.
The last days i read a lot of teambuilding guides and now i am a little confused... didn't think pokemon was that complex..
Sorry for my bad grammar i am not used to write english ^^.

I don't want to use any legendary or uuber Pokemons for Online/Wi-Fi games.

Please have a look at my first try:

It all startet with this little feller here:

....well let's skip the borring part and get to my setup :)

Starter:
142.gif

Aerodactyl
@ Focus stash
Ability: pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Spe (jolly)

~ Stealth rock
~ Taunt
~ Stone edge
~ earthquake

First lets talk about my Starter.
With his jolly nature and the 252 speed Evs he is a very fast Starter and will always get the stealth stones up.
First i thought about Accelgor with Spikes but i was told that stealth rocks are much more usefull.
With 252 Attack EVs he is also able to deal a good amound of damage with stone edge and earthquake.

Physical Sweepers
248.gif

Tyranitar
@ life orb
Ability: Sand stream
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe (jolly)

~ Dragodance
~ Crunch
~ Stone Edge
~ Earthquake

The standard Dragon Dance Tyranitar set.
He is the Core of my Team, but i dont like the idea of a whole Sandstorm Setup so i just choose Excadrill who gets a great boost from the sandstorm.
He has a lot of speed with the 252 EVs and the jolly nature.
After 1 or 2 Dragon dance he is ready to sweep :) but i am thinking about changing his speed into HP and Def with adamant nature to make him a standard sweeper with a nice survivability.

530.gif

Excadrill
@ baloon
Ability: Sand rush
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe (adamant)

~ Sword dance
~ Rock slide
~ X-scissor
~ Earthquake

Thanks to his ability sand rush he gets a 50% speed boost from Despotars Sandstorm!
With his 252 Atk Evs he is able to sweep a team after 1-2 sword dances.
Well the baloon... it helps him against his ground weakness but am not sure if life orb/leftovers is more usefull...
The fighting weakness of my two physical sweepers is really a pain in the ass :(

Special Sweeper

094.gif

Gengar
@ choice scarf
Ability:levitateEVs: 6 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe (timid)

~ Shadow Ball
~ Thunderbolt
~ Focus Blast
~ Psychic

The only special Sweeper in my Setup.
I hope that i wont regret that ^^.
Gengar with special attack and speed maxed is a really good special sweeper.
His choice scalf makes him even faster but i am thinking about replacing it with life orb.
I choose Psychic to help against the fighting weakness of my team.
When i predict a fighting attack i switch to gengar or Reuniclus and answer with a psycho attack :)

Staller:
579.gif

Reuniclus
@ Life orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4SpD (modest)

~ Calm Mind
~ Recover
~ Focus Blast
~ Psychic

I picked reuniclus to get rid of my fighting type problem but i am not realy happy with this set...
Maybe i will chance his stats into offence and play him with trick room and low speed as an another special sweeper...
Hmm or i will take another good sweeper like Hydreigon and starmie...
On the other hand with Calm Mind and Recover he has got a nice survivability.

Supporter:

242.gif

Blissey
@Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 154 HP / 252 Def / 104 SDef

~ Aromatherapy
~ Softboiled
~ Thunderwave
~ Ice beam

The Supporter in my Team.
With Aromatherapy and Softboiled its a really usefull Member.
I know that seismic toss is blisseys best attack but i dont think that i could get a hold of a blissey with that movementpool...
Thunderwave and Ice beam arn't that bad i guess...
Maybe i am going to switch to relaxo :/

Well thats my first Teamsetup try I have to say again that my english grammer and spelling really sucks.. Sorry for that :/

Looking forward to your comments and rating
Greets Kraet :)

I'm not a very experienced player competitively but here is my opinion on your team:

It seems you have a large weakness to water attacks with 3 of your pokemon taking 2x dmg, and the other 3 taking 1x damage. Because of this if any bulky water type came out it, or even a couple pokemon with a strong water attack it could easily cause havoc on your team, with your only super effective attack on them being Thunderbolt on Gengar. Here is a useful link I use when deciding on team members: http://pokemon.marriland.com/black_white/team_builder

Knowing this I would switch in a pokemon with either dry skin (Toxicroak) or one of the many pokemon with the Water Absorb abilities. I would probably narrow it down to Vaporeon, Suicune or Jellicent in place of Reuniclus. Then throw Hidden Power: Grass on your choice so it can deal with opposing water types (grass instead of electric for swampert and the like).

Also I haven't done a lot of research into it but you may want to consider switching blissey for an eviolite holding chansey. Lots of pros/cons that you should just weigh for yourself - less hp and no leftovers and lower sp atk for much higher def, higher sp def. That said I hope I never run into a eviolite holding chansey with seismic toss.

Well I hope that helps you a bit - If you get a chance please rate the team I posted :P http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3443481#post3443481

Thanks for the link :) i am going to work on my setup.
I really want to rate your team but i am not good enough for that ;D

I just played 2 games vs a human so... <= noob :)

Putting this out there. If you get so hung up on type synergy (which marriland only shows) you end up having perfect type coverage with terrible teamates. Its alright to have 3 2x weaknesses to water, as long as something can tank through it.

My Advice: In order!

Aero: I'm not a fan of sui leads but aero does it well. be sure to Taunt when necessary (comes with experience). Consider Rock Slide over Stone Edge. You sacrifice power for A high flinch chance (30%) and better Accuracy. Not necessary, just something to look at.

Tyranitar: With the abundance of Fighting types out there, I just do not see any more use in a Dragon Dance Tyranitar. Its out classed by other DDers, who can actually outspeed some of their threats after one DD. With the prominence of weather this generation, and the uselessness that is Excadrill outside of Sandstorm, I suggest something more bulky. This is the set i use to much success:
Code:
(Tyranitar) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 180 SAtk / 76 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Crunch
This gives you a strong special wall, that also acts as your weather starter and a Ferrothorn/scizor/other steal who thinks he can switch with impunity counter.

Excadrill: Personally, I find balloon to be bleh. Conkledurr and Azumarril=dead mole. And they're both common threats. Life Orb lets Excadrill Put colossal holes in teams without even dancing. When it comes down to it, Its personal preference. Balloon gives you more opportunities to get to work, whilst Life Orb lets it do the work better.

Gengar: Assuming you have sand storm up, Painsplit is a good idea. In general its a good idea. Free healings for Free Damage.

Reunic is actually really good, its playing him thats hard. The thing you need to remember is that it's slow as fuck, and you need to get those Recovers off *BEFORE* you're in the red. elsewise just get 2 calm minds up, after counters have been cleared (Scizor, Other powerful Pursuit users, things with strong bug moves, etc) and enjoy a sweep. You can drop Calm Mind for Shadow Ball, for added coverage, at a loss of power.

For Blissey: Maybe Wishfor passing, honestly not that bad of a set up. Seismic toss is becoming less good, IMO with the numerous 101+subs cropping up, while Gliscor's rising fame makes ice beam a decent move to hold onto. Honestly, Blissey shouldn't be used for its ability to attack :P
