OU-My First Team

Just trying to get in the metagame with a good original team is hard, so i would like some help. (sorry for no pictures, don't know how)

The team:
547Whimsicott_Dream.png

Lead
Whimsicott (F) @Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 Def / 252 Sp. Def / 4 Spe
Calm Nature (+Sp. Def, -Atk)
-Substitute
-Leech Seed
-Toxic
-Stun Spore

This is a very common whimsicott, using prankster to give priority to its moves. This little cotton ball sets up (hopefully) and wears down opposing pokemons HP. This is 100% wreaked by taunt but it could also be used as taunt bait for a free switch.

magnezone.png

Wall Breaker/Sp. Attacker
Magnezone @ Balloon
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 40 Hp / 252 Sp Atk / 216 Spe
Timid (+Speed,-Atk)
-Substitute
-Thunderbolt
-HP Fire
-Charge Beam

Magnezone, in my opinion is one of the great checks to Ferrothorn, being able trap him, set up and gain boost while taking minimal damage makes him a great check. Also magnezone can com in on many bulky waters and can either scare them out or get super effective damage. HP Fire is there to take care of trapped steels.

vaporeon.png

Wall
Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. Def / 4 Def
Calm (+Sp. Def, -Attack)
-Scald
-Wish
-Protect
-Toxic

Vaporeon, very overused for a reason very good stats. When somebody sees a Vaporeon the will try to hit you with a special attack to hit your lower stat, but really you have put the investment in it ftw. this also help the type synergy of the team.

Lickilicky.png

Anti-Weather
Lickilicky (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 Sp. Def
Quiet (+Sp. Atk, -Spd)
-Surf
-Power Whip
-Focus Blast
-Sunny Day

This is a team slot based entirely on the modern metagame of weather. Lickilicky can come in (without weather working while he goes to work) uses sunny day (least used weather besides hail, he isn't able to use hail) and is able to hit all of weather starters (Drizzle Politoed, Drought Ninetales, Sand Stream Tyranitar/Hippowidon, Snow Warning Abomasnow).

200px-Dusclops_Emerald.png

Wall
Dusclops (F) @ Evolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Bold (+Impish,-Sp. Atk)
-Shadow Punch
-Seismic Toss
-Will-O-Wisp
-Pain Split

Dusclops is a tank with the evolite. Enormous defense with a pretty good movepool. Dusclops has enormous defenses an will-o-wisp, pain split and then can were down the enemy.

472Gliscor_Dream.png

Phy. Atk
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish (+Def, -Spe Atk)
-Fling
-Protect
-Acrobat
-Earthquake

Used protect till orb activates, fling it; poison enemy and gain acrobat no item boost. Then attack and protect and rinse and repeat.

Please tell me how my team could be better, constructive critism is always welcome.

Your RMT looks quite dull, try spicing it up with some Bolds and colors.
To add pictures you just have to hit the Yellow picture of the mountain(In the quickchat box, it is the 7th to the right box).
Either way, your team looks pretty solid. I would recommend finding a replacement for Dusclops though, have you considered Cofagrigus?

If I was to replace Dusclops with Cofagrigus i would lose the ability for a instant recovery move, and actually after and evo-stone boost Dusclops it bulkier.

I might as well rate it seeing as I don't see anyone good doing it.

First off, Whimsicott does not need toxic to stall at all. Switch it for taunt, protect, encore, or u-turn; all of those moves offer great utility on your team. I personally suggest taunt, to stop leads, or encore, to annoy set-uppers, but the choice is yours. Also it does not need speed at all, so switch that speed ev to defense, in fact you want to decrease your speed as much as possible for ferrothorn's gyroball.

Magnezone is ok, but it doesn't have any support. A magnezone like this needs:

1. A rapid spinner, as ferrothorn will set up a crap load of entry hazards on you. (As you can see by the rest of my rate, I never suggested one, so that might be something to think about for your team, as it would require you to totally dismantle it.)

2. Something to take advantage of magenzone taking out steel types, generally Dragon sweepers like Haxorous, Garchomp, and Salamence like steels out the way.

Also if your making a team specifically to counter ferrothorn, you will need a more bulky spread to take a few power whips with a sub, Modest 152 HP / 180 SpA / 176 Spe does that better. The set you have is better to counter scizor, which doesn't appear to be the idea you had in mind.

Lickilicky can work, but honestly there are better things for the job. If you really want to counter weather, try Verzion, as it deals with most weathers with ease, without using a terrible pokemon, trust me I have used all the weathers and its still an annoyance to all of them.

To be honest the last 2 pokemon do the same thing, tank physical hits. I would highly suggest you choose one of them, and ditch the other. Gliscor is arguably better for this team, but again its your choice.

Gliscor also needs a bit of a change, fling + acrobat is meh now. Toxic has far more utility and acrobatics is just outclassed by the utility you can get from ice fang or facade. The Virizoin I mentioned before does a pretty snazzy job at dealing with a lot of Gliscor’s counters too.

If you do go for ditching Dusclops, you have 2 major options:
1. Using magnezone utility to have a good dragon sweeper.
2. You team is pretty weak to Latias at this point, you might want to have a counter for that (Tyranitar, Blissey/Chansey, Scizor, Jirachi, ect). A few of these would make a few pokemon obsolete, like if you chose Blissey, then Vaporeon might have to go.

Personally, to avoid all of that mess, mix them both together, scarf-chomp is a good check to Latios, and of course a dragon.

That’s my suggestions, the top few are defiantly musts, the rest can be argued, hopefully someone comes around to better rate them me, because I am not that great, although I think my suggestions are solid.

Thanks for the suggestions i will change my team to have scarfchomp/ take out toxic on whimsicott but i have a problem with using any legendaries on my team, so Verizion is (preferably) out of the question. Maybe using a Golduck instead of lickilicky

I'd consider Forretress on this team because it is obviously defensively oriented, so it will appreciate entry hazards support because Vaporeon will be damaging a lot with Roar if there are a lot of hazards in play. You'll also want it to Rapid Spin away your opponents hazards as walls don't exactly like taking a lot of damage when swithing.

Nice team btw ^^

edit : Try Seismic Toss over Shadow Punch on Clops, it'll usually deal more damage considering its low attack!

Personally I'd get rid of Licky, because Sand is stopped cold by Gliscor. Licky won't last long against Infernape in Sun while Thundurus can Focus Blast it in rain.
