Voting has concluded and there is a tie between LO stealth rocks and cosmic power! I’ll allow 24 hours for anyone to break the tie, if no one votes by then I’ll settle the tie myself! Now let’s move on to the next cycle.

Cycle 62 - Corviknight
:ss/corviknight:

Undeniably one of the best defoggers in the tier along with lando-t and torn. It serves as a prominent defensive anchor with its great steel/flying typing and access to pressure allowing you to outlast most if not all rockers/spikers. Unlike skarmory it actually has a spdef stat letting you be a decent check to mons such as lele. Although it has been through a slight decline with magnezone soaring in usage to trap this metal bird.

sub roost

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 216 SpD / 40 Spe
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird / Body Press
- Substitute
- Bulk Up / Iron Defense
- Roost

sub roost corv is pretty nasty as a pp staller and potential mid- and late-game cleaner. corviknight's good defensive typing and great natural bulk allows it to have many set up opportunities, and some team archetypes can simply crumble when fighting it. it walls a large amount of pokemon like ferrothorn, landorus or clef by virtue of its typing and stats, so using pokemon like that as set up fodder is ideal. 40 speed evs gives it 180 speed, outpacing adamant shedinja and hitting a jump point in spdef. this set works beautifully with toxic support and pokemon that can weaken or ko checks like heatran and zapdos. a pokemon like heatran is far less threatening if you opt for body press+iron defense, which is a viable option.

a few calcs to show how strong just +1 uninvested brave bird is:

+1 0 Atk Corviknight Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 99-117 (35.2 - 41.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 0 Atk Corviknight Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Victini: 172-204 (50.4 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

a few relevant +2 uninvested body press calcs:

+2 0 Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 228-270 (59 - 69.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 0 Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Magnezone: 172-204 (60.9 - 72.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 0 Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Melmetal: 176-208 (41.8 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

SubRoost already won lol

Taunt + Bulk Up
:ss/Corviknight:
Corviknight @ Leftovers :leftovers:
Ability: Pressure / Mirror Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 164 SpD / 44 Spe
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Taunt
- Bulk up
- Power Trip

Taunt + Bulk Up aims to capitalize on Corviknight's bulk and defensive typing offensively, offering a less passive approach to the steel bird.

Taunt was specifically thought of to prevent Toxapex from walling this set once ready to sweep, however, it also has other applications. Taunt allows Corviknight to be less passive in front of walls and setup sweepers, taking advantage of them. It is also useful for keeping out hazards and hazard removal. Bulk Up's benefits are obvious, increasing its Def and Atk that allow it to efficiently wall and threaten physical breakers and sweepers (barring Urshifu-R). Power Trip makes use of these tools while providing an offensive moveslot with less downsides than Body Press and Brave Bird.

Pressure is used over Mirror Armor as it allows you to stall out walls like Buzzwole, Clefable, and Tapu Fini. However, Mirror Coat has enough significant application that it can also be used.

The EVs are meant to take a 3HKO from +1 Kartana's Sacred Sword after rocks (non LO) and outspeed most slower Magnezone variants. The rest was thrown into SpD as no more was needed to complete any significant calcs in Def.

It is imperative to this sets' use that before it attempts to sweep without any significant boosts, its checks- such as Magnezone, Tapu Koko, Zapdos, Volcarona, Blacephalon, and Urshifu-R- must be weakened or removed.

2x speed on something like kyurem or lele is funny. Also, you can roost on magnezone and switch out with U-turn. You can customise your exact speed IV's depending on what you want corv to tank vs what you want to outspeed. Even 0 speed negative nature outspeeds any magnezone except cringe fail scarf magnezone. Just as an example, i actually run 12 speed IVs and outspeed blacephalon (not really the biggest deal but just an example) while underspeeding kart.

Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet

Agility Corviknight

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Mirror Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Power Trip/Body Press
- Bulk Up
- Agility
- Roost

Here we have a more offensive version than the usual one. Agility and 252 Spe+ EVs allow Corvikinght to set-up a fastish Agility or a Bulk Up to make up for the lack of EVs into the Def.
Generally, Iron Defense is better in a standard defensive set, Bulk Up fixes our offensive and defensive prowess in the same turn, so it is way better with Power Trip, which is my preferred choice here.
Roost is mandatory for recovery, whereas Body Press or Power Trip are the offensive moves. This pokemon has the typing to set-up twice with realtive ease.

Mirror Armor acts as a way to circumvent Intimidate, so it is perfect here.

Voting has concluded and temp has won with his sub bulk up set. Congrats for winning and your submission with be added to the HoF eventually! Now let’s move on to the next cycle.

Cycle 63 - Glastrier
:ss/glastrier:
We have entered the realm of “niche” mons since corviknight was the last ou mon we have not had a cycle on. Glastrier is mostly commonly seen on tr teams and bulky offense teams with its sd set. But since it’s so rare, we will not be having any banned sets this cycle! Let your creativity run wild.

Choice Band
:ss/glastrier:
Glastrier @ Choice Band
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Crash / Icicle Spear
- High Horsepower
- Close Combat
- Heavy Slam / Megahorn

Glastrier lends itself incredibly well to a Choice Band set. Ice moves hit most of the tier at least neutrally, making them relatively safe to lock into. The choice between Icicle Crash and Icicle Spear depend on personal preference -- Icicle Crash deals consistent damage, but Icicle Spear is 100% accurate, and can potentially be much stronger if it gets more than 3 hits. High Horsepower synergizes well with Glastrier's Ice STAB, and is Glastrier's strongest option against Toxapex, while Close Combat hits most Steel-types harder than High Horsepower does.

The last slot can be customized depending on what's expected of Glastrier. Heavy Slam is its strongest option against Fairy-types, and the only move Glastrier has that can 2HKO Tapu Fini, while Megahorn is Glastrier's strongest option against the Slowtwins.

152 Speed EVs allows Glastrier to outspeed Hippowdon, while also speed-creeping most common Melmetal spreads. If you have Trick Room support, a spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD with a Brave Nature and 0 Speed IVs can be run instead.

Sub + 3 attacks

:SS/glastrier:

Glastrier @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Leftovers
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Icicle Crash / Icicle Spear
- Close Combat

- High Horsepower

First of all thanks to InvisibleWater for making me save those 20 seconds required to open Pokémon Showdown and find the correct spread lol but I did take away 4 from HP to not have HP divisible by 4.

Anyway, this Glastrier set aims at punishing the switches it forces with a timely Substitute and proceed to deal massive damage back at the opponent. Suddenly, the opponent won't have the ability to pivot around Heatran and Landorus-T to force out your icy horse, because Substitute gives you a safety net vs Heatran's Magma Storm but also blocks Landorus-T's Intimidate.

Substitute also makes Glastrier even deadlier against faster builds, bypassing its main drawback at the price of 25% health.

Of course, thanks to Glastrier's bulk, its Substitute will likely take a weak attack from an usually passive Pokémon like Finchinator's favourite Pokémon Toxapex making it an easy click in certain scenarios (Obligatory joke disclaimer).

Ice - Fighting - Ground is the best 3 moves coverage you're gonna get out of this thing, which leaves it craving team support to break through mainly bulky Water types and a certain metallic bird.

The item choice boils down to team structure and whether it facilitates the longevity of Leftovers or needs the safety of Heavy-Duty Boots.

Glastrier @ Leftovers
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Icicle Crash

I don't think this is actually a very good set, but Glastrier hasn't got a lot of other options beyond swapping a move on the sets other people have submitted. The idea is to utilise Glastrier's insane natural bulk to set up a Substitute and become unkillable on the physical side, with Ice-coverage supplementing Body Press fairly well. Maximum Speed is used to outspeed Corviknight, though a bulkier spread might also work.

Glastrier @ Leftovers
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Icicle Crash
- High Horsepower
- Substitute

This set allows Glastrier to setup on otherwise checks like Slowbro, Toxapex and Corviknight, while also making tough to revenge kill due its colossal bulk and the safety provided by Substitute, as even infiltraitor Dragapult struggles to 3hko it with Shadow Ball, and Corviknight's Body Press is only a 4hko, Glastrier struggles with hazards because it needs Leftovers to be able to reliably setup, so good Defog support is needed, the EVs allow it to outspeed 0 speed Corviknight and max hp gives it 101 hp Substitutes to guard against Blissey.

Glastrier @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rest
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Sleep Talk

Although you can't hit Ghost types, you can set-up Iron Defence in order to use Rest with more ease.
This set uses a defensive approach to gain some more Def, and then proceeds to attack with Body Press and to recharge the health with Rest.
This way, Glastrier is more resilient towards detrimental status such as burn and has more staying power, especially when combined with H-DB, because it allows Glastrier to be immune to all hazards.

Glastrier @ Custap Berry
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Megahorn / Close Combat
- Icicle Spear / Icicle Crash
- Swords Dance
- High Horsepower

Custap Berry is an interesting item on Glastrier that allows it to tank hits and sometime get surprise KOs. It's also a nice item to take advantage of Chilling Neigh. I went with a bulky spread to take advantage of Glastrier natural bulk.
You can often trade Glastrier with a Pokemon that annoys your team. His ridiculous bulk let's it live super effective hits most of the time :
252+ SpA Heatran Magma Storm vs. 248 HP / 216+ SpD Glastrier: 252-296 (62.5 - 73.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and trapping damage
while maintaining an offensive presence thanks to his 145 attack base and Swords Dance.

This set is effective at getting rid of annoying Pokemon for your other team members and can easily get one to two kills per game if played correctly. The spread maximizes Glastrier bulk while giving it enough speed to outspeed Toxapex (even though you are not killing it after an sd it's enough to scare it away by threatening a 2HKO). The moveset is straightforward and the only real choice is between Megahorn and Close Combat and is really team dependant.

Eject Button
:ss/Glastrier:

Glastrier @ Eject Button :eject button:
Ability: Chilling Neigh
EVs: 248 HP / 20 SpD / 240 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Icicle Crash / Icicle Spear
- High Horsepower
- Megahorn / Close Combat

Y'all already beat me to the punch with these sets lol

The thought process for this set was that Glastrier could utilize its great natural bulk against faster pivots in order to bring in threats for more offensively inclined teams.

The bulk here isn't optimized as I don't know the necessary benchmarks, however, 248 HP reduces SR damage while between 171 - 174 Spe allows it to speed creep faster Steel-types (leftover EVs into SpD). The EVs are mostly arbitrary, as necessary bulk is dependent on team structure.

Icicle Crash is generally preferred over Icicle Spear for more immediate damage, however, Icicle Spear has far more PP and 100% accuracy which is favorable. Accuracy helps to reduce overall RNG so Glastrier doesn't have to worry about wasting its tools in any given turn that Icicle Crash would miss.

Megahorn is the preferred move as it allows Glastier to target Slowbro, which otherwise walls it.
