And voting is over! We have a situation where three sets has same number of votes:

:leftovers:Whirpool by Katy
:light clay:Dual Screens by VTaxi
:choice scarf:Icy Wind by escarlata

in this situation i have to make a choice and the winner is ... :leftovers:Whirpool by Katy. Your submission will be added to Hall of Fame soon. Let me introduce new cycle, the first by me

Cycle Forty-Seven - Weavile

:ss/weavile:

Weavile's solid attacking stats, great Speed tier, and offensive typing make it a big threat to both faster and fatter teams even despite the lack of Pursuit. Weavile is usually seen using Choice Band and Swords Dance sets: the former boasts a huge immediate firepower and thus makes for a good wallbreaker, while the latter has a better sweeping potential thanks to not being forced to a choice-lock and is able to run Heavy-Duty Boots. But can you guys provide us with some other cool options on Weavile? Show them here!
btw, this is Egor one of the most favourite mons to use

life orb 4 attacks weav with poison jab

:bw/weavile:
Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Poison Jab

Weavile is usually walled by the previous Pokemon in the cycle Tapu Fini, as Tapu Fini can tank any of its attacks rather comfortably due to its typing in water and fairy. Weavile however can catch it off guard with a Life Orb-boosted Poison Jab, which is able to cleanly 2HKO Tapu Fini after Stealth Rocks. Weavile can also hit Clefable and the very rare Primarina with Poison Jab for decent amount of damage.

252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tapu Fini: 190-226 (55.2 - 65.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 190-224 (48.2 - 56.8%) -- 86.7% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Poison Jab vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Primarina: 276-325 (76 - 89.5%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Due to Life Orb-recoil and the miss of Heavy-Duty Boots Weavile is rather prone in getting worn down rather easily, so pairing this set up with great entry hazard removal is key so Weavile has a higher chance to stay decently healthy throughout the game. Pivots also work well with Weavile to bring it in safely.

Its other attacks are its STAB options in Icicle Crash and Ice Shard and the ever dangerous Knock Off since Knock Off is really great and has no drawbacks to click it.

Metronome Weavile

Weavile @ Metronome
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick

General idea
Metronome is one of the most underrated items around.
Seeing that you take damage from hazards, the opponent is lead to think that you are Choice Banded, especially if you continue to net KOs with one move. But, you can surprise the opponent with a different coverage move although you lose all the extra power acquired.
The moveset is a standard one.
The secret is to enter through VoltTurn support towards a threat already damaged if you are not able to OHKO it through chip damage. That's all.

Unlickily, Metronome doesn't work with Triple Axel.

Team(mates) support
Due to the lack of immediate power, this Weavile requires more support in terms of damaging hazards (at least one more layer) to make up for the loss of Choice Band.
A slow VoltTurn support is appreciated due to the low bulk Weavile has, and so it is the hazards removal.
In return, Weavile offers a lot of firepower.

Wide Lens Weavile

Weavile @ Wide Lens
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
Triple Axel is a really fiersome attack - when it actually hits. 90% accuracy isn't particularly bad, but so often have there been situations where games were cost due to the three Triple Axel hits not all connecting. This set aims to rectify this inconsistency by jacking up Triple Axel's accuracy from 90% to a whopping 99%.

While this may not seem like a massive difference, because each individual hit of Tripel Axel has a 10% chance to miss, the move actually has only a 72.9% chance to hit three times and thus get its full 120 BP. With Wide Lens however, this goes up to a ~97% chance to hit three times! Therefore, Tripel Axel becomes a far more consistent move, almost always hitting at full power. After a Swords Dance, anything that doesn't resist Ice is going to take major damage from it or be outright KOed.

The lack of Heavy Duty Boots means that this Weavile will ideally require some support to keep entry hazards off your side of the field, but that is a potentially worthy tradeoff, especially on a HO team where you aren't going to be switching Weavile in and out that much anyway.

:ss/weavile:
Weavile @ Protective Pads
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Swords Dance
- Low Kick

- Knock Off
Weavile can be a very threatening sweeper and wallbreaker, although it easily gets worn down by hazards, Rocky Helmet, Iron Barbs, etc. due to having moves (Beat Up, Triple Axel) that hit multiple times. This Protective Pads set aimes to help Weavile consistently wallbreak, without being stopped by Ferrothorn, Moltres, Zapdos, and Rocky Helmet users like Slowbro.
Due to it being weak to Stealth Rocks, Weavile appreciates Rapid Spin or Defog users such as Corviknight.
:weavile: :corviknight:
+2 252 Atk Weavile Low Kick (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Ferrothorn: 326-384 (92.6 - 109%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

+2 252 Atk Weavile Low Kick (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 246-290 (69.8 - 82.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 252 Atk Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 404-476 (102.5 - 120.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 248 HP / 220 Def Zapdos: 672-798 (175.4 - 208.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 248 HP / 88+ Def Moltres: 336-399 (87.7 - 104.1%) -- approx. 12.5% chance to OHKO

Reserving Focus Sash + Counter

Weavile @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
IVs: 0 Def
- Counter
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard

Ok i initially thought Weavile got Reversal, they don't which sucks but this is still good.

Weavile is frail as tissue paper, so almost any physical hit will bring them down to 1HP and make Counter OHKO. Of course, you need good hazard control to preserve Sash, so mon like Corviknight or Excadrill are good partners.

The rest is pretty standard with Ice Shard being especially useful when you're at 1hp. Triple Axel triggers pickpocket to be annoying which is nice. Hasty nature means you take the most physical damage possible to make sure counter does the most (even tho its not strictly necessary cos weaviles.defence sucks)

Weavile @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Triple Axel
- Low Kick
- Poison Jab

Choice Scarf Weavile

Scarf boosts Weavile’s excellent natural speed tier to insane levels, allowing it to serve as a revenge killer and late-game cleaner. Max Speed Adamant allows Weavile to outspeed Scarf Kartana and everything slower, and being able to run adamant means that Weavile retains fearsome attack power even without LO or Band. Knock Off is dark STAB and always a great move, Triple Axel is ice STAB and preferred over Icicle Crash for the extra power. The speed boost provided by Scarf means that Weavile no longer needs Ice Shard, allowing it to run both Low Kick and Poison Jab for coverage. Low Kick beats Bisharp and T-tar, Poison Jab is for Fini and Clef. Scarf Weavile can act as speed control for balance and BO teams, and can outspeed the entire unboosted tier, and also notable setup sweepers such as Chomp, Volcarona and Dragonite even at +1. Most importantly, it can outspeed and OHKO Dragapult, Koko and Modest Regieleki, and it also has a good chance to OHKO Zeraora after rocks.

Calcs:
252+ Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 234-279 (83.2 - 99.2%) -- approx. 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dragapult: 416-492 (131.2 - 155.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Zeraora: 255-306 (80.4 - 96.5%) -- approx. 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Facade Weavile

Weavile @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Pressure
EV’s. 4 HP/252 Atk/ 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Fake Out
-Facade
-Knock Off
-Triple Axel

This weavile aims to get a guaranteed toxic using fake out, then use facade to smack stuff. I chose the toxic orb because weavile isn’t known as a tank, and a burn would be annoying with the other attacks.

knock off is to be annoying and take off items, and triple axel can revenge kill a landorus or garchomp.

252+ Atk Weavile Facade (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 181-214 (64.4 - 76.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 12 Def Landorus-Therian: 900- 1056 (282.1 - 331%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 200 Def Garchomp: 696-840 (165.7 - 200%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 222-264 (56.3 - 67%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Dynamic Punch
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off

Weavile has a few very good moves at its disposal that are unfortunately a little inaccurate, however good they are. So here this set looks to remedy that with Hone Claws; not the immediate boost that makes the standard SD set a big threat very quickly but it gives that boost in accuracy needed for Triple Axel to hit all the time. Knock Off is key so its there, and finally Dynamic Punch is in the move-set and although you would probably need 2 boosts to make this move have a respectable accuracy, that chance to screw over the opponent with confusion gives you the extra (potential) win-con you might need.

This set makes Weavile into a cleaner. With the Agility boost, it outruns everything up to +2 Adamant / Naughty Dragapult, which you tie with. What's more, you can use Low Kick for coverage over Ice Shard now. Triple Axel is preferred over Icicle Crash for the greater power. A Jolly Nature is best to preserve Weavile's great unboosted speed tier.

i thought weavile got block but it didn't

this set aims to trap common switchins such as clefable, toxapex, and steel types like ferrothorn with whirlpool + screech so something like watershifu, fini, or suicune that enjoys these mons dead can win. lum can help vs scald burns or other status, sitrus can help have more longevity, roseli can help u eat a moonblast to take down weakened clef, grip claw can trap longer for more screeches, and protective pads can help vs ferro and basically nothing else.

i ran out of ideas

Weavile @ Focus Sash / King's Rock
Ability: Pressure

Jolly Nature

- Triple Axel

from bulbapedia:

in other words, damage calculations will be based on weavile's attack stat, and the base power for each strike is based off each individual non-statused and alive party members using the above formula
blunder made a video on this a year ago iirc but i dont really watch him so idk. ive been using this fire set since gen5uu

i use this as a dedicated lead, sort of like an anti-lead. this will ensure all six strikes will be done as weavile will be the first one to be sent out. a good chunk of leads wouldnt really appreciate weavile suddenly setting up turn one and then firing off (on average) 100 BP beat ups and triple axels. I chose 100 BP as the "average" as that was about the added total for most of my teams with this weavile set (that wasn't meme "stack every strongest physical attacker in the game" teams). i also totaled up some offense sample teams and they also added up to around 100 BP (obviously not the greatest measurement but eh)

some benefits to beat up:
non-contact (ferrothorn who?)
strong (if your team has decent attack stats) spammable dark type move
consistent power compared to knock off after removing item
breaks substitutes and sashes

+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 165-195 (54.2 - 64.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 165-195 (54.2 - 64.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 184-217 (52.2 - 61.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Bisharp: 153-181 (56.4 - 66.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Rotom-Heat: 291-343 (96 - 113.2%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Scizor: 306-361 (89.2 - 105.2%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 175-207 (52.3 - 61.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Shuckle: 147-174 (60.4 - 71.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Seismitoad: 267-315 (64.4 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Weavile Beat Up vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight: 231-273 (57.7 - 68.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
some of these calcs are not possible 2HKO with knock off due to the power drop. some calcs show reliable damage when you don't want to risk triple axel not 3-hitting.

king's rock is a great meme but doesn't guarantee a swords dance without sash

Sub + 3 Attacks

Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash / Ice Shard
- Substitute

Weavile has a tendency to force a lot of switches and can make use of the forced turn to get a Sub up in order to throw out attacks more liberally without relying much on prediction. In slot 3, it’s a choice between Ice Shard or Icicle Crash. In this particular set, Icicle Crash may be preferred over Triple Axel as you have 2 opportunities to fish for a flinch which may be gamechanging. Sub also opens up the option for Focus Punch.

Revealing Sub + Knock Off usually hints towards both Ice Stabs in the remaining slots. This has a tendency of baiting in a lot of Steel types, Kyurem, Blissey etc. Many of which can easily outlast an unboosted Weavile, and KOing in return. Focus Punch really blows a massive hole in that counterplay, scoring clean KOs on Heatean, Kyurem and Ferrothorn after the Knock Off. Light stuff like Kartana and Blissey who don’t care much for Low Kick also get completely deleted by Focus Punch. Also completely ruins Corviknight who tries to stall you out with Roost.

I came here to submit this set, but you beat me to it. Can I suggeat Fling as a slash somewhere (over SD or Shard) ? Fling King's Rock is a guaranteed Flinch which can help break through walls, and then pairs really well with Pickpocket (Triple Axel makes contact for this).

Fun Calc;

+2 252 Atk King's Rock Weavile Fling (30 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 66-78 (16.5 - 19.5%)

+2 252 Atk Weavile Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 261-309 (65.2 - 77.2%)

Can kill Phys Def Corv with a Fling + Triple Axel + Rocks if you SD on the Switch, and nab yourself a Rocky Helmet too!

From watching replays lately it seems that the most common switch in to Weavile is Toxapex. I hate Toxapex, so I made this.

+2 252+ Atk Normal Gem Weavile Giga Impact vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 235-277 (77.3 - 91.1%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock.

Sure you'll immediately be revenge killed afterwards, but if you make a Toxapex user cry, isn't it all worth it?

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Low Kick / Poison Jab
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off

This set turns Weavile from a cleaner to a wallbreaker, something Weavile is also capable of doing for a lot of teams. Choosing to forego utility in Ice Shard for Dragapult and Rillaboom, while also going Life Orb > HDB for extra power, Weavile is able to turn 2HKOs to OHKOs, or at least pick off weakened checks at a higher percent. Technically, you can still run HDB or even an Expert Belt if you want to choose longevity, but Life Orb is optimal for the most amount of power. I prefer Icicle Crash for flinch chance and for more consistency. Ofc, you can only choose between Low Kick or Poison Jab, but depending on what your team needs it can be a pretty easy choice.

Calcs:
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Low Kick (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 359-424 (101.9 - 120.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Low Kick (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 1180-1393 (292 - 344.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Swampert: 422-499 (104.4 - 123.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight: 290-343 (72.5 - 85.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Basically, the idea behind this set is to either toxic, knock off or taunt any lead pokemon that doesn't threaten to OHKO weavile besides landorus which will be scared off since they think you're carrying an ice type move. However, the main appeal to this set is to punish u-turners especially ones that u-turn into their toxapex and therefore you get to snipe the toxapex who think's it'll be coming in for free and OHKO it.

Weavile @ Power Herb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature

A pretty straightforward set, Power Herb + Dig is a lure for Toxapex after it's been chipped by entry hazard damage. It would be ideal to pair this with a Stealth Rock setter like Blissey or Clefable or a Spiker like Ferrothorn or Skarmory to put it in range. I did sacrifice Ice Shard sadly but it's for the creative lure ;w;. Here are some calculations showing Adamant vs Jolly rolls on Toxapex:

+2 252+ Atk Weavile Dig vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 192-228 (63.1 - 75%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and 3 layers of Spikes
+2 252+ Atk Weavile Dig vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 192-228 (63.1 - 75%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and 2 layers of Spikes
+2 252 Atk Weavile Dig vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 176-208 (57.8 - 68.4%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and 3 layers of Spikes

Focus Sash isn't necessary when Weavile aims to punish only non-STAB U-turners(Landorus-T) without boosting items:
252 Atk Landorus-Therian U-turn vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Weavile: 236-278 (83.6 - 98.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.
Attacks from Life Orb Rillaboom or Scizor is more likely to trigger Focus Sash, and Choice Band Urshifu-RS if he/she wants to keep items:
252+ Atk Life Orb Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Weavile in Grassy Terrain: 294-347 (104.2 - 123%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Weavile: 230-272 (81.5 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Scizor U-turn vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Weavile: 270-318 (95.7 - 112.7%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike U-turn vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Weavile: 326-384 (115.6 - 136.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

TR43 / TR71 + Fling

:dp/weavile:
Weavile @ TR43 / TR71 (they make no functional difference)
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Triple Axel
- Fling
- Low Kick
- Swords Dance

TRs have interesting niches as items - the base power of explicitly defined moves is the base power of Fling when used as an item. The strongest of these are TR43 and TR71, both of which hit 130 BP. This is barely stronger than a Life Orb Knock Off, but the interesting thing is is that this has two niches by comparison to that:

1 - no Life Orb recoil means that this can take a stray hit from something or switch into entry hazard damage more often
2 - it has a very interesting synergy with Pickpocket, where with certain targets, Weavile is capable of taking a hit and stealing their item. An example of this is SpD Scizor's Bullet Punch, which Weavile can just barely take, and steal either its Leftovers or its Heavy-Duty Boots, giving it the ability to stay around for the endgame.

For the most part it's just better to run regular SD sets as this doesn't have the ability to hurt certain mons after a Fling like Slowbro, but this has a particularly interesting niche none-the-less.
