OU Rain Team, BW Dream World

Politoed (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Waterfall
- Hypnosis
Do I need to explain? Infinite rain is the only thing that makes the NU in my team good enough for OU. Hypnosis is the only hope of preventing entry hazards, and im running a physical set on this guy because he has great coverage in these three moves and because Politoed is mostly special offensive and my main reason for this team is because it catches most people off gaurd.
Raikou @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Aura Sphere
- Thunder
- Weather Ball
- Substitute
Raikou is fantastical in the rain, with the Celebi event, Raikou got Aura Sphere and Weather Ball, finally giving him something to hit Ground, Rocks, Aura Sphere for Steel types, Thunder for great stab, Extrasensory is his only way of hitting Fighting types.

Articuno @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs:252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Heal Bell
- Roar
- Roost
Support is something that this team needs, and Articuno has it. Articuno has great typing and bulk, and I dont really care about stealth rocks because most of the time Politoed will just Hypnosis so they will switch out, most of the time not having rocks up the whole game. Ice Beam is just for attacking shit, Heal Bell is great support, and my whole team is probably status bait and Articuno can easily solve that problem. Roar is to get pesky Rock types to switch out before they can do anything, and Roost is just for recovery.

Jellicent (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Boiling Water
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic
- Recover
My Queen of stall, my Bulky queen, my pringles guy wife, my Jellicent. Boiling Water and Shadow Ball are the best dual stab she can get, Toxic wrecks Chansey/Blissey, and Recover is just for health regeneration. Jellicent is fantastic in the rain, making Boiling Water hit and she can freely switch into boosted water type moves and get health from it, too.

Armaldo (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- X-Scissor
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
Armaldo? WUT? If you havent noticed already, Armaldo gets Swift Swim, making his Speed 400+ and his attack 350+ (Im too lazy to look up the real numbers), and that makes him pretty much the Excadrill of Rain, and he is really sick. I admit, I dont get very good chances to set up, but I dont need it. X-Scissor is to hit pure Grass types and Earthquake and Stone Edge has great coverage in OU.

Toxicroak (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Vacuum Wave
- Sludge Bomb
- Dark Pulse
You would be suprised how good Nasty Plot Toxicroak can be, and Life Orb damage aint got nothing on Toxicroak with Dry Skin and Rain. Vacuum Wave really is just for priority and stab. Sludge Bomb is really good against pure Grass types, which Black and White brought many of. Dark Pulse is to take care of Ghost types, which would otherwise wall him.

Plz rate, ive been using this on Pokemon Online and it has been doing pretty well. My team works together greatly by covering every type in the game, and, in case your wondering, I dont use swift swim Kingdra because I am trying to go for the suprise factor in here, and most counters to rain team try to prepare for Kingdra.

May want to expand your descriptions. How does your team work together?

Why is Politoed physical?

STAB Thunder is better than Extrasensory on Fighting types. And it's not like it's immune either so it isn't the only way to hit them. Replace it with Calm Mind or Substitute.

Swift Swim is illegal with Drizzle on Smogon. Armaldo needs to get sacked for a Ferrothorn to give you a physical wall and something else to take water and elecric attacks.

Give Jellicent Water Absorb for enemy Rain teams of course.

Half your team is weak to Ground and you have no resist or immunity. Try Dragon Dance Gyarados or something.

As Jaroda said above STAB thunder does 180 damage, whereas super effect non-stab extrasensory only does 160 damage. Jolteon is not vastly different to raikou in movepool stats, blah, blah, they're very similar - both offensive electric pokemon, although in rain I do recommend zapdos or jolteon due to their electric immunity. Also all rain teams have Kingra, no exceptions, also nattorei for the 4* grass resistance, and the other valuable resistances and general ability to lay hazards and annoy. If you want to use rainstall you may take a different approach, however.

Rain stall general uses rain dish pokemon, or at least pokemon that can benefit from the rain, e.g. vaporeon, toxicstall scizor - burungeru is pretty much exactly the same in rain as it is out of it... so quite frankly I don't see the point.

Offensive rain teams are far better and they all carry the same thing, the good ones anyway -

Politoed, manaphy, kingdra, zapdos, nattorei + either a shell smasher gorebyss/huntail/kabutops/omastar or ludicolo for the resistances to ground and neutrality to electric and grass. Also, drizzle + swift swim is banned now in standard OU.

Thanks. But I am an offensive rain team, and im thinking of replacing Jolteon with Articuno because if Politoed's Hypnosis hits I wont need to be worrying about stealth rocks. And remember, I use this team solely on Pokemon Online, I will never use it in the games. And im not thinking of using Ferrothorn but if anything I want to use Tangrowth for a Grass type wall, having regeneration is a great defensive boost, and im kind of getting sick of Ferrothorn.

The problem with relying on Politoed's Hypnosis is that the thing is so slow. Most leads are going to outspeed it and get rocks up or taunt you so you can't use hypnosis anyway. And with rocks up Articuno is even worse than it already is. Plus Jellicent already takes special attacks, if you need a cleric use... well something else. I know it doesn't get multiscale if you use it but Dragonite does get heal bell (from XD I believe)+ in rain it gets two amazing special attacks. Celebi also gets it, and could provide an electric resist =3. Just throwing ideas out there though. The rest of the team looks pretty solid.

Uh, i use Double Rain, Electrode/Thundurus Lead, And a Politoed, JUST IN CASE. Articuno should not be used without Thundurus, If something FASTER uses Stealth Rock, ur dead, so you may actually want Espeon/Tentacruel
