Well, after lurking smogon for quite some time, I decided to make my own team. This is my first ever competitive Pokemon team and I would like to know how well it fairs but mostly, what to change.
2 Way Pass Team: Sorry, no pics
Offensive Core:
Lead:
Gliscor @ LeftOvers
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 HP, 216 Spe, 40 Atk
Jolly Nature
~ Swords Dance
~ Baton Pass
~ Earthquake
~ Stealth Rock
I originally ran no Stealth Rocks, but decided no one else on my team could set up SR like gliscor so this this my Baton Pass Gliscor. I used the dancing tank EV spread on Gliscor to allow him to survive at least a SD and a quick BP. The main point of Gliscor is to SD, BP, EQ if necessary, but mostly to pass SD to my two sweepers. EQ for stab and to kill Lucarios, Metagross, and just a powerful revenge killer late game. I can usually pass SD but if its an Ice team, an immediate switch to Scizor. My next two pokemon create the offense of my team and to whom I pass my SD to. And if needed, Gliscor can usually come out once more to SD And BP.
Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs:248 Spe, 252 Atk, HP Spe
Adamant Nature
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Baton Pass
Typical Scizor and before I get hate comments because the lack of originality, I choose Scizor because of Baton Pass and it truly excels at what I need it to do, sweep. After a SD pass from Gliscor, this thing is a beast. Priority move and all I don't think I need to discuss much here. Outrun things, BPu everything that isn't resistant to it, baton pass to T-Tar if any fire move wielding pokemon comes out. If you haven't gotten it yet, BPa is to continue the SD from Gliscor.
Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk, 164 HP, 92 Spe
Adamant nature
~ Stone Edge
~ Crunch
~ Pursuit
~ Fire Punch
Pretty typical T-Tar. Maximum damage for most moves and what not. STAB Stone Edge for great coverage / damage. Come in after or before Scizor depending on the lead. Pursuit any ghosts/Psychic for any easy KOs. Fire punch to deal with Steel types Scizor might have trouble facing. Overall, solid attacker.
Late Game Sweeper.
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA, 180 Spe, 72 HP
Timid nature
~ Psychic
~ Grass Knot
~ Hidden Power Fire
~ Calm Mind
The other team might as well go oh fuck when this Jirachi comes out late game. It has considerable bulk and can really eff up teams after one Calm Mind. However, I won't always hold him to the end, I might need the Grass Knot if a swampert comes out. Psychic is my main STAB and will even lower SpD. What a joke after that. After a calm mind and the wreckage my other two Sweepers caused I don't think anything really stands in my way.
Defensive Core:
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Spe
Bold Nature
~ Aromatherapy
~ Wish
~ Toxic
~ Seismic Toss
Typical Tank Blissey that cures status ailments and passes the wishes around. Can take hits like a beast and lures in Pokemon which I can respond to accordingly. Honestly not much too say. Take er in when my teams in HP/Poison/T-Wave trouble then Aromatherapy or Wish or both, then toxic as I tank their hits like a beast and ST them.
My final Member... I honesty have no idea who to put and this is probably where I need your opinions. My current idea:
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 136 HP, 156 SpA, 216 Spe
Timid Nature
~ Ice Beam
~ Surf
~ Thunderbolt
~ Recover
Covers up my water weakness while returning a Thunder Bolt. STAB surf is always a pain and mostly there for the bolt/beam combo that I so needed. Any other suggestions for this slot?
Team Building: First, I needed a good Baton Passer to actually start off my team. At first, I choose Ninjask for the speedboost as well as swords dance but I decided it was a little frail and could do nothing else for me mid-late game. So I decided with... meh I can explain this later but basically:
Scizor
T-Tar
Blissey
Stuck here so I decided that a BPasser would be AMAZING so
Gliscor- Lead
Jirachi after reading some RMT.
Stuck here but decided Starmie would be amazing too. Thanks for reading
