XY OU OU RMT - Cores

Hello Smogon! Today I'll be showing you my first "real" OU team. I usually try to make a unique team without your typical OU pokemon, but now I've made a team that simply aims to win that is based around defensive and offensive cores. I've tested this team and it's been pretty successful. Please share your opinions and suggestions!
Changes are in red.
All special attackers have 0 Atk IVs.

Smogon Frog (Greninja) @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Rock Slide
- Return
- U-turn

Physical Attacking Lead
- I usually lead with Smogon Frog because it has good type coverage and speed, and can deal tons of damage while switching out with U-turn.
- I chose a physical set for Greninja because:

  • A special set is expected, so the opponent could go into a specially defensive and get bopped by a physical attack.
  • Base 95 attack isn't bad compared to base 103 special attack.
  • As I said before, he can get off tons of damage with U-Turn while switching out.
- Is part of an offensive core along with Gardevoir.

34 (Gardevoir) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Trick

Special Scarf/Chansey Killer
- Gardevoir has great special attack but average speed, and with a scarf it can outspeed almost anything non-boosted.
- Her great typing and movepool makes her a good sweeper once threats are gone.
- Trick + Psyshock = GG Chansey
- Trace is a great ability, copying useful abilities like Chomp's Rough Skin, Gyarados and Landorus-T's Intimidate, Manectric's Lightningrod, and many more.
- Part of an offensive core along with Greninja.

Smogon Washing (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 212 HP / 252 SpD / 44 Spe
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump

Special Wall
- Will-O-Wisp to cripple physical attackers
- Pain Split to recover HP while hurting the opponent
- Volt Switch to get out of a tricky situation while causing damage
- Hydro Pump for a basic water attack since I have none on my team
- Part of a defensive core with Scizor
- I'm actually looking to replace him with someone similar; someone who synergizes well with Scizor and the rest of my team, preferably a water type. It can be UU/BL also. If you have any suggestions that would be great.

Iron Man @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal (Technician)
EVs: 220 HP / 36 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost

Physical Wall/Defogger/Revenge Killer
- As you can see above, Mega Scizor's stats and movepool allow it to fill many roles.
- Defog is a must on a team with Talonflame to get rid of pesky rocks.
- Bullet Punch is threatening with STAB, Technician, and Mega Scizor's great attack even with little Attack EV investment.
- Knock Off is a great move with good power and also removes an opponent's item.
- You may have noticed that he has no nickname; any suggestions for it?

663.gif

Smogon Bird (Talonflame) @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Tailwind
- U-turn

Physical Band/Priority
- I needed some strong and fast priority, so why not Talonflame?
- Brave Bird and Flare Blitz, you know.
- Talonflame's 81 attack is pretty mediocre, but Band increases it to a good amount.
- Tailwind is to boost the team's speed.
- U-turn is U-turn.

380.gif

Hero (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Roost

Bulky Offense/Support
- Thunder Wave to slow down fast opponents and make them easy to kill.
- Draco Meteor for offense.
- Ice Beam to kill common threats such as Landorus and Thundurus.
- Roost to heal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Threats:
Ferrothorn: The only way to kill this thing is to get rid of everything that can live a Flare Blitz from Talonflame. I can also stall him out with burn, but it often has Leech Seed. I don't want to have to replace a whole pokemon to deal with this.
Milotic: It's very hard to kill this thing if Greninja dies.
Charizard X: This thing sweeps my team if Gardevoir and Talonflame die.
Feel free to use the team :)
Hey PixelUmbreon wassup um I'm a bit confused why would you use greninja as a physical attacking lead?? I understand why you made greninja physical but that dosent allow you to utilize greninjas full potential but then again I've never really seen physical greninja in action soo moving on your running CB talon and your set is good but dosent let talon take full charge of his attack so here is talons set
Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn/Tailwind
- Roost/Swords Dance
I also suggest running tauntvoir so that allows you to shut out set up sweepers and possibly ferrothorn once a ferro is taunted then it's p much useless and you can focus blast ferro till he dies here is tauntvoir set:
Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 24 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
This all I can think of right now Hope I Helpt
Ooh and a nickname suggestion for Scizor Is metal menace or dick pincher
Hi, cool team ^^ first i would suggest ice beam over return on greninja, in order to pick up a lot of kills on stuff such as, landorus, garchomp, dragonite, gliscor, deffensive hippo and a lot more, as return only gives you a slightly higher BP move for neutral hits. 4 spa and naive is fine
Wish Latias is somewhat unreliable, and it's offensive set seems to outclass it in 90% of the time. Your team also seems to appreciate a offensive set more, as it is rather offensive orientated, and though twave may seem nice, you already have a scarfer, a super fast greninja and two mons with priority to take care of sat up sweepers. I will suggest this set.
Hero (Latias) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 Spa / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Psyshock/thunder bolt
This set aims to keep offensive pressure, while still walling stuff like keldeo and zard Y, roost is to keep walling them, as Latias nice bulk will ensure that they won't 2hko. Life orb is to optimize damage output, while it can keep healthy with roost
On talon, tailwind > overheat, this gets you a huge speed boost for a couple of turns! great late game! and overheat will never hit harder than blitz tbh.
I think rotom is fine, great sand offense check, though if would suggest physically defensive instead. 252 hp 212 def 44 spe bold and you should be fine, it actually synergies pretty well with scizor.
his mega is scizor so scarf gardevoir with taunt wouldnt make much sense and banded talonflame with sd? u mean tailwind/roost or?
I'm actually looking to replace him with someone similar; someone who synergizes well with Scizor and the rest of my team, preferably a water type. It can be UU/BL also. If you have any suggestions that would be great.
I am trying to find some of the substitutes for that Rotom-W, and these are some I have found so far:
raikou.gif
Raikou @ Assault Vest
EVs: 252 SpA / 32 SpD / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Extrasensory
A great threat to Water-types and Mega Charizard Y, which Raikou is generally supposed to check.
The EVs provide enough Speed to outrun Thundurus and give Raikou a good enough damage output, with the rest in Special Defense to get a bit more special bulk out of the Assault Vest.
The last slot boils down to whether 2HKOing Latios (Shadow Ball) or actually threatening Mega Venusaur (Extrasensory) is preferred.
It's not a Water type, though. It has a great special bulk, while providing momentum with Volt Switch.
azumarill.gif
Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Waterfall
A typical AV set of Azumarill. It is probably the best Water pokemon in this tier. It cannot provide momentum, but it hits pretty hard and has priority. This will take care of Fire type pokemons for your Scizor.
heatran.gif
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 140 SpD / 120 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic
- Protect
Since you have no SR setters, I looked through the SR setters. This thing can cripple physical mons with WoW. The speed investment is for 44 Spe Rotom-W/min speed Lando-T. It can absorb Fire type moves for Scizor with Flash Fire.
