High priority threat
A team from HCD
Hello! This is my first RMT, showcasing a new team thats worked fairly well on the ladder, (peaking at 1443 on the PO server) however it still needs some work with synergy and dealing with common threats like Latios and ferrothorn.
Dragonite (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Atk / 72 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake
- Rest
After trying and trying to use a suicide lead successfuly in gen 5, i have given up and declared them dead. Instead, i picked up an anti-lead that i knew would work well, dragonite. The Ev are custom, maxing out Hp, giving a nice atk of 385 with adamant, and the rest dumped into speed. multiscale softens ice beams and HP ice's from other leads, dealing damage with the attack of choice and finishing with extremeSpeed. lum-rest allows for more appearances to deal damage later in the game, or just more longevity right off the bat. Does well against all leads except for forry, ferrothorn, Genosect and steels with Baloons.
Hitmonlee (M) @ Normal Gem
Trait: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Mach Punch
- Hi Jump Kick
- Blaze Kick
My revenge killer/late game sweeper, Hitmonlee comes in early for a mach punch kill and later for a sweep after his many counters are hopefully gone. He also completely outspeeds and destroys most sun teams.
Venusaur (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Energy Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Sleep Powder
Venusaur is my special tank/ status platform, sleeping and passing leech seed to other members of my team. simple EVs to maximize bulk, and two stab attacks to take out bulky waters that this guy just destroys. He does attract many pokes to set up on him though, and thats a bit of a problem if something is already asleep.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Yawn
Originally a curse carrocosta, I changed this spot to a classic mixpert to set up rocks and allow for gliscor to reach his full potential. Nothing special, just does what it needs do.
Arcanine (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Crunch
This guy does some serious damage with STAB flare Blitz, even in the rain against water types, and just destroys everything that doesn't resist it. Close Combat and Crunch for near perfect coverage nailing things like heatran and burungeru, extremeSpeed for nailing those KO's that he would otherwise miss.
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 74 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Ice Fang
Gliscor was at first my steath rocker, but i put that on swampert so this guy could shine. He fills both a role of physical wall, stalling out threats, and sweeping late game when faster pokes have been taking out by the rest of the teams priority. The EV's are from somewhere i can't remember, the work well, but i'll test out suggestions. On team synergy:
Generally any problems with sweepers are my fault by letting them get like more than one dragon dance, but some things still give me problems, such as gyarados and Garchomp. Typing wise, the team works well together, no weaknesses shared between more than two pokemon (save ice), and only water, flying, psychic, and rock weakness on two pokemon, with only water being common.
Comments, Ratings, advice would all be nice. Hopefully i'll have a threat list done soon. Thanks! -- your classy neighborhood dinosaur.
