LEAD/BATON PASSER-Smeargle (M) @ Salac Berry
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 244 HP/12 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Belly Drum
- Baton Pass
- Spore
- Substitute
---Smeargle takes the role of a belly drum passer on this team, sporing anything slower or whatever switches in, proceeding to substitute and belly drum and then pass to medicham for a sweep hopefully. It has enough HP to be able to activate the salac boost after one sub and drum, and then passes max attack and a speed boost (hopefully with a sub) to Medicham. If I see a OHKO from their lead in my future, I'll switch out to usually Umbreon, or maybe Metagross. All-in-all, a good lead that is usually fast enough for a good set-up and maybe a full sweep.
SWEEPER-Medicham (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Hi Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Psycho Cut
- Thunderpunch
---Medicham is a very underused Pokemon, his ability doubles any boosts essentially and he has a good movepool. If he gets the full boost from Smeargle he'll be able to OHKO pretty much everything, and he might even get a nice sub to hide behind for a little while. The sash saves him from priority moves at least once, and he really doesn't need any other boosts, although a better item choice is welcome.
REVENGE KILLER-Porygonz @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Thunderbolt
---The description says it all; this porygon-Z gets in, gets a quick kill, and gets going. He has pretty good coverage, but sometimes I miss Ice Beam which I changed to T-bolt for the kill against Skarmory, since nothing else works. He gets solid STAB off of Tri attack, Dark Pulse hits ghosts and HP Fighting hits Steel. He has proven to be a steady member who nearly always gets a kill.
MIXED SWEEPER-Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/252 Spd/192 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Close Combat
- Nasty Plot
---I originally put him on the team to take out scizors, which always would annoy me and which EVERYONE uses these days. I switched out Fire Blast to Flamethrower after a few games where it missed and lost me the game...F-thrower is a lot more reliable, and there are very few cases when he would need the extra power, especially if he can use Nasty Plot. He can revenge kill, or be put in to scare off a threat and then Plot to sweep.
AGILITY SWEEPER-Metagross @ Metronome
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 100 HP/252 Atk/16 Def/140 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Agility
- Meteor Mash
- Thunderpunch
---My Metagross uses agility to set up his first turn, then can sweep an entire team if he gets the chance. He is faster than most pokes after an agility, and with those three moves he can hit almost everything for at least neutral damage. If anyone can think of an item better than that for him, please say so. I'm open to suggestions.
WALL-Umbreon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP/140 Def/116 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Toxic
- Moonlight
- Pursuit
- Confuse Ray
---Umbreon soaks up special attacks and can annoy almost anything to no end. Unless they're steel type (which is all too common) Umbreon can confuse them, use toxic, and then stall with moonlight until they die. Using pursuit as my only attack ensures that they'll take one last hit before they die, and I can pick up a KO if I'm lucky. I am thinking about replacing Umbreon but I'm not sure what can fill the hole. Suggestions welcome.
Thanks for any input, I win most of the time with this team but I feel it could be a lot better!
