Hello everybody, besides being for a long time in the world of competitive pkmn battling, this is the first time I really found myself in the need of some suggestions and that's pretty much why I am writing my first XY gen RMT. Expect you guys can help me.
The team in a nutshell - Talonflame // Rotom-ghost // Mega-Venusaur // Quagsire // Excadrill // Latios
Talonflame and Rotom are the main stars of my team with a powerfull voltswitch combo, while venusaur and quagsire takes as many hits as possible, excadrill rapid spins and latios spams draco meteors all aroud. The team has a good synergy, resisiting and being superaffective on pretty much everything but, I really find myself in trouble when the opponent team starts a stall competition. All matchs I have lost were for people using stallmachines like sableye, chansey, tangela or skarmory (of those being the most annoying one).
ZAZUO (Talonflame) (F) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Roost
Talonflame is the main sweeper of the team, working very well on late cleaning up. With maximum investment in HP it can take a hit or two and revenge kill with priority Brave Bird. I prefered sharp beak over choice band for the chance of priority roost, what prolongues talonflame life and let it enter the field some more time even with stealth rock on my side. U-turn halps mantening momentum, beng pretty fast even without investment in speed. Flare Blitz is there for steel types and I was thinkingh about using taunt, but the lost of a coverage move proved being fatal for Zazuo.
ZAPPINGEIST (Rotom) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
A revenge killer, coming in and out with it's voltswitch. Will o'wisp can cripple a opponent lead tyranitar and shadow ball is there for gangars and ghost stuff. I prefered the normal form of rotom for his immunity agaist fighting attacks, especially the ones aimed at excadrill. Trick is there for reducing opponents ferrothorns and any other setupper to useles garbage.
SAPO (Venusaur) (F) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Roar
- Synthesis
The tank and fairy killer. This thing can really take hits and respond to them. Stab Giga Drain for water and ground types. Sludge Bomb for fairys. Roar for setuppers and synthesis for reliable recovery. It's only weakness is the ever present psychic type ( espeons, medichams and alakazams), what my team can tank with Latios.
BOB (Quagsire) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Recover
The phisical sponge. Loves to be hit on his face. Can enter agaist opponent's dancers (garchomp/ dragonite), cripple then with toxic and give then damange with rocky helmet. Earthquake proved useful, but waterfall is not that much and I am thinking about using ice punch. Recovers are for recovers what permits it staying in field for forever against any non-grass opponents pkmn.
KALIBUR (Excadrill) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 80 HP / 176 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Shadow Claw
- Rapid Spin
I am not really sure about this one. I am thinking about using a defog scizor or something like that. IDK. With assault vest it can take a hit or two of stab shadow ball or psychic, but this is because of assault vest, what dont let it set stealth rocks. Earthquake is powerful against anything that didnt resist it. Iron head is for the fairys always 2HKO togekiss. Shadow Claw for spinblockers. And rapid spin, that is really important for talonflame+rotom core.
VOX (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock
- Trick
Vox is basically a Draco Meteor spammer. It really hits hard and 1HKO any dragon type except full HP marvel scale d-nite. Hidden power fire is there for steel types (scizor) and trick is for crippling a opponent settuper or cleric. Psyshock is there for the fighting types, but I never really used it.
So, as said before. I am having real problems with stallers... And I dont have a stealth rocker. And I think using a scizor in the slot of excadrill could be of some good, adding one more u-turner to my team... But idk. Any ideas of how putting scizor, what kind of scizor and what could be a good stealth rocker for my team? Plase give me suggestions.
