OU RMT

Well I have been using the same stall team since the beginning of summer, and once platinum came out, it strated doing worse and worse, so I thought it was time for a change. I decided to throw together just a bunch of random pokemon, who actually worked quite well together, so here you go.....

TEAM AT A GLANCE:

The Team:

dpmfb385.png
@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 108 HP/200 Atk/200 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Trick
- Ice Punch
- Fire Punch
- Iron Head

My replacement to Aerodactyl. Although it doesnt add stealthrocks, it helps keep anumber of leads in check and is a great anti lead.

dpmfb145.png
@ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]
---

Again kind of standard, I use this as my main Swampert counter who would rape my team with out it. This is usually what I use to absorb status and the like.

dpmfb214.png
@Choice Band
Ability: Guts
Evs: 72 atk/ 200 def / 236 spd
Adament Nature (+ Atk, -Sp. Atk)
-Pursuit
-Close Combat
-Megahorn
- Stone Edge
As suggested by Venom, I really like how this is working. I usually save this for late game and bring it in to kill everything. Its worked alot better then Scizor did and Im pretty happy with the way it is doing.

dpmfb233.png
@ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 232 HP/236 Def/40 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover
---
I recently discovered how great this thing is. This can counter almost half of the metagame on its own. I chose discharge for the Paralyse and being able to have toxic. Toxic and recover are able to rack up alot of damage.

dpmfb485.png
@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Explosion
---

Standard Scarftran. I usually keep this thing for as long as I can and use porygon and zapdos to switch in on fire attacks, so my opponent gets comfortable using them then towards the end I bring in Heatran and sweep.

dpmfb130.png
@ Wacan Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd4/ 4 Hp
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Dragon Dance
---
Full out attacking Gyarados. I chose wacan berry to survive the unboosted electric attacks that ususally ruin his sweep.

Well thats my team, Its been doing very well but I cant get over 1350 on the ladder so I came here for help. Thanks!

I'd make Zapdos Specially Defensive as you have Porygon physically defensive and he takes hits well with recover.

You should also consider Life Orb on Gyara as Wacan Berry isn't going to help you anywhere near as much as Life Orb will.

Other than that, looks like a solid team though I'm sure someone will find some weakness. Every team has one.

I don't like Wacan Berry on Gyarados, I don't really know what you mean by "Electric moves stopping his sweep" surely the plan is to wait a little and then get him out. I think the extra damage from the Life Orb and more careful play will work wonders if you are using offensive LO Gyara, you might be able to KO those walls who are sturdy enough to survive and fire off electric attacks at you. Like I said I personally never had any use for it or had any situations (apart from the very odd late game one on one) in which I feel that Wacan Berry would be more useful.

I shouldn't worry about Specially Defensive Zapdos, now Skymin is gone you dont have that much need of it and unless you play in switching right into Swamperts Ice Beam its not going to be as useful for you as physical Defence. I would reccomend, however, the EV spread 188 HP/176 Spd/144 SAtk with a Timid nature, that will allow you to outspeed Jolly Luke and hit it hard with Heatwave, IIRC i made the spread to OHKO -1 Sp. Def Luke with Thunderbolt (I find Heat Wave's coverage a little redundant) so you would be perfectly fine shifting those SpA EVs into Def. Sure Heatran checks if it is outpredicted it makes scarftran set up bait, if you use Zapdos as well, then you can check it without having to be stuck into one move, Speed obviously is nessecary to outspeed before the Ice Punch.

Suicune ruins you a little bit, especially offensive versions, changing Zapdos EV spread will help with that, but chucking Taunt on Gyarados might also help, why dont we try chucking Taunt over Ice Fang and changin Earthquake to Stone Edge. I think that offers the best coverage possible, so that way you have Zapdos to deal with Offensive versions and Hp Electric / Surf Varients and you have Gyarados to deal with Surf / Ice Beam Varients. The Extra SpA EVs on Zapdos may well help you out against Offensive Cune so try out the spread, see if it helps =D

All I noticed for now, are you having problems with anthing specific? If you are, feel free to come back and ask and well try to sort it out =D

That's my favorite Zappy spread, Goldfan :D

Suicide leads such as that Areodactyl are not setting up Rocks 60% of the time if it goes up against a lead like Choice Scarf Jirachi.

You really don't have anything that absorbs status and if Thunder Wave gets thrown around many of your strategies are ruined.

HP Electric Calmcune will be an absolute nightmare for this team. With no SAtk EVs Suicune easily sets up on Zapdos when Zappy tries to switch in.

Be careful against DDtars because without LO or something like that Scizor will not be as able to kill it as easily and with the threat of a Fire attack you will have a harder time dealing with them.

Jolly > Hasty on Aerodactyl. I find that Aerodactyl works best on offensive teams because with the constant battering they won't have time to set up Stealth Rock later in the game. With your team, they will be able to set it up later on because of your abundancy of tankish pokemon, so replace Aerodactyl with something llike Azelf, Metagross, Sr + Endeavor Infernape or just something bulky that learns SR. Celebi could work and would help against suicune or maybe blissey, the choice is up to you I just think aerodactyl is out of place on this particular team.

I think those zapdos evs are a little outdated due to ice punch lucario. I personally use the spread: 252 hp / 176 Spe / 80 Def and it rarely lets me down. You always outspeed lucario and are never OHKOed by a +2 extremspeed, although you look a bit suicune weak as already stated so using Goldfan's evs can help if it becomes too much trouble.

I would actually consider keeping Wacan Berry on Gyarados, Gyarados isn't the kind of Pokemon that likes Life Orb, mostly because of its bad weakness to Stealth Rock, Gyarados can't afford to be doing that with Life Orb. Something I don't think here is how this team gets walled by defensive duos, SkarmBliss being one of them. You can always try out Heracross or Lucario over Scizor, which will ensure you don't have problems with such walls. If you still want something to be able to hanndle Weavile and Mamoswine, and Tyranitar to some extent, I would suggest using a Heracross with 72 Atk / 200 Def / 236 Spd @ Adamant, the defense EVs look funny, but they can somewhat Swampert and Mamoswine/Weavile. Having a defensive investment is always good when you have awesome Ground, Dark and Fighting resists like Heracross does. With this spread and Choice Band, Heracross will always 2HKO Skarmory with SR up with Close Combat (at least it has never failed to do so for me).

You should probably keep Zapdos as it is right now, you dont have the need to outspeed anything when you can handle plenty.

Thanks for the rates guys!
About the wacan berry, I dont want life orb on him because of stealthrock meaning after two attacks Im already below 50% most likely. Also what I meant about wacan berry is once I switch in Gyarados on something it will scare away, I can dd up, and stay in on something like Vaporeon who will either try to HP electric me, or try and set up wish or something.

I have been having alot of trouble with sleep talk pokemon, mainly cursetalk Snorelax and calm mind sleep talk Suicune. I usually try to pressure stall suicune with P2, using discharge and recover and mabey toxic when I can.

Ill try adding on taunt to Gyarados but my main concern with that is celeri. I like the idea of that Hera. How do you think It will do switching into say a +2 bullet punch from scizor? Would it 2hko?

And for now Im going to keep Aero on the team. I like getting stealth rock fast and I would say I get it down mabey like 90% of the time not 60. It also does a number to other leads with rock slide and eq being able to survive anything barr explosion from azelf, taking about 40% from t-tar, and OHKOing other aeros if I win the speed tie.

Edit: I am also having trouble with the Rotom appliances. I just dont know what to switch in on them

I changed to hera and put taunt on gyarados both to great succeses. What would you guys think about a scraf jirachi lead? If you think it would be a good idea for this team could someone post a good set?

name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Ice Punch
move 2: Fire Punch / ThunderPunch
move 3: U-turn / Iron Head / Zen Headbutt
move 4: Trick
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
ivs: 24 SpA
nature: Adamant

Thats an anti-lead Jirachi. If you want something that sets up SR then you should use something like this:

name: Trick Lead
move 1: Trick
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Stealth Rock / U-Turn
move 4: Ice Punch / Zen Headbutt / U-Turn
item: Choice Scarf
nature: Jolly
evs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe

Hope this helps.

Well, I finally have my lead, but Im thinking of putting Sleep talk Kingdra over gyarados, and a bulkytran over my scar tran opinions?
Edit: What would be a good set for those two?
