OU RMT

This is the first team I've made since I quit playing almost 1.5 years ago, and it's not performing too great. All of the sets are mostly standard sets from the analysis section, but I've done some tweaking within those sets for better type coverage.

Machamp @ Lum berry
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Atk / 96 SpD
Nature: adamant
- Dynamicpunch
- Substitute
- Encore
- Stone edge

I love this guy. I've made quite a few people quit with him. The bulkiness is a nice touch too. He is great for setup leads, but I've had a little bit of trouble finding out what to do when I'm up against something that's not. I chose to go with 31 speed IVs because I haven't even seen any Bronzong leads lately. Just seems like a waste IMO.

Salamence @ Life orb
EVs: 84 Atk / 216 SpA / 208 Sp
Nature: Mild
- Draco meteor
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire blast

I think Salamence fits his place on my team quite nicely. Does a nice job of breaking walls when the person isn't quite sure what kind of Salamence it is. Hasn't caused any problems for me, and does quite nice as a mixed sweeper.

Blissey @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
Nature: Calm
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Flamethrower

Blissey is doing a pretty good job walling special threats for me (as you would expect), but I think this moveset is kind of weak. It lacks teeth and it's been sort of hard pulling off Wish and passing it onto my other pokemon. Maybe I just need to practice it more. Flamethrower, however, has worked surprisingly well for me. I have killed/crippled Scizor and other steel pokemon who were expecting me to use be running a boltbeam on my Blissey. I'll probably keep it if/when I switch movesets.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Ability: Magnet pull
Nature: Modest
- Magnet rise
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- HP Grass

I have yet to have trouble with a Scizor with this team because of Magnezone. Almost a free kill, really. If I can pull a magnet rise off he does really well with other steel types too. I have been switching back and forth between HP Ice and HP Grass. Can't really decide which one's better. I've already got HP Ice on my Alakazam, so running HP Ice kind of seems redundant, but I find myself wanting it a lot, although the same is true for HP Grass when I'm running HP Ice.

Gliscor @ Yache berry
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spe
- Earthquake
- Stealth rock
- Swords dance
- Roost

I've got the feeling this is the wrong set. I hardly ever find myself setting up with swords dance and when I do it's not that successful. I'm thinking a more defensive set with better type coverage and more attack EVs would be better. Regardless, Gliscor does a pretty great job walling a lot of physical threats, although a lot of ice users have been scaring it and causing a lot of switches. Blissey usually takes the switches nicely.

Alakazam @ Choice scarf
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Trick
- Focus blast
- HP Ice
- Psychic

I chose to run a scarfed version because everything else on my team is sort of slow. When I played, Alakazam was really good as a special sweeper. I'm not sure if that's the case anymore. I'm open to suggestions as to what I should do with this spot.

So that's my team. Overall I feel it manages a good chunk of the threats and no pokemon so far has caused major problems. I think the type coverage is also pretty good. I've won a good chunk of my matches (at least over half) with it, although I feel it lacks teeth. If any of you could help me improve it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Bump.

I changed up my Blissey to a more standard set.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Def / 108 SpA
- Thunderwave
- Flamethrower
- Ice beam
- Softboiled

I think flamethrower is a nice touch. I'm catching a lot of steel pokemon on the switch in with twave, and OHKOing them with flamethrower. It's scaring off a lot of threats that would otherwise stay in and try to KO Blissey. It's working much better than the other set IMO.

Also after playing a bit more, I'm thinking a rapid spinner would be pretty good with my team. I'm almost always letting stealth rock leads set up with Machamp, so I figure it wouldn't be a waste to have one. Any suggestions as to where I should put it?

Oh, I forgot to mention that. I switched out stone edge for payback. Can't really decide if it helped much or not.

I would change Magnezone's nature to Timid with a spread 252 spA/252 speed to ensure that you outrun max speed Adamant Scizor.

Max speed Adamant Scizor is at 229. My Magnezone would only be at 194 speed if I changed the nature to Timid.

He edited the post, it didn't say that before. I just now noticed. I think I'll give it a try and see what happens. To be honest I haven't really had a problem with Scizor, aside from the one time I was OHKO'd by Superpower.

EDIT: Instead of maxing out the speed, I just used 218 EVs so I am just barely outspeeding him. I put the remaining 40 EVs in HP.

Sorry for being mean but, that Gliscor sucks!
If you get an (impossible) +6 Gliscor, they bring a flier and... What will you do to them!
If you really want a SD Gliscor try Stone Edge isntead of Roost or Stealth Rock.

Scarf Alakazam isnt a good idea, but if you want a Scarf Zam try using Modest as a nature, since you got enough speed. I used a Specs Alakazam with Timid Nature, and it was pretty cool so you can change it to specs. If you keep the scarfed Zam, use Signal Beam, because you will need to kill Celebi.

Er, yeah. I did have stone edge on it, but wrote it as stealth rock for some reason. I would have changed it long ago if I only had EQ on it, as my team doesn't have much use for the move IMO.

As for Alakazam, I swapped it with a scarfed modest Gengar. It's running Shadow Ball, HP Ice, Focus Blast, and Trick. So, almost the same thing at the expense of a few BP of speed and satk, but gaining the ability to soak up fighting attacks, and the occasional EQ if my other flying types aren't up to it. I sort of like the idea of a specs Zam. The original reason I scarfed it was because I felt I didn't have anything that was really fast, but looking back, it was probably overkill. As for Celebi, I think Gengar's STAB'd Shadow Ball might be enough, and if not, I can run HP bug on something (probably Gengar) and put HP Ice back on Magnezone. But if I still have Celebi problems (which I haven't had so far) I'll know what to do.
