OU Rock Paper Scizors Team. (Battle Tower)

OU Rock Paper Scissors Team. (Battle Tower)

Hi! I've spent the last few weeks pouring over the awesome strategy pokedex attached to this site and refining my team in Pokemon Diamond.

I've hit a wall as far as what I can do on my own and want to move onto PBR and Shoddy, however I need 3 extra pokemon for this so some input on my weaknesses would be great if possible. Otherwise here is my Battle Tower team :)

A bit about my play style first, I don't like switching pokemon, Legends, going second, choice items, residual damage, status effects and stat boosts. The aim of this team is to be fast, go first and do a massive amount of damage the old fashioned way.
Feel free to educate me if this is a bad way of thinking :)

Infernape
Jolly, 252 Attack/ 252 Speed EV.
Focus Sash.

Flare Blitz
Close Combat
U-Turn
Stealth Rock --> Thunder Punch

My suicidal lead, it has two very powerful but defensively risky attacks. Focus Sash is there to either get out SR or offset the defense losses of Close Combat.
If Focus Sash breaks or Fire/Fighting gets walled, I either use a boosted Flare Blitz or U-Turn to switch without wasting an attack which is especially good against psychics. I do try to switch this out before it gets killed for use later.
Edit: Added Thunder Punch for Gyrados, Flying and Water types.

Starmie
Modest, 252 Special Attack/ 252 Speed EV.
Expert Belt.

Surf
Psychic --> Grass Knot
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam

The perfect counter to Infernape. With four powerful and varied attacks the aim here is to get a super effective OHKO, hence the expert belt. Not much I can say other than this is pure offence.
Edit: Added Grass Knot for Swampert.

Weavile
Adamant, 252 Attack/ 212 Speed / 40 Health EV.
Choice Band.

Pursuit
Ice Shard
Brick Break
Aerial Ace

A decent counter to Starmie and destroyed by Infernape, I actually designed this team with this rock-paper-scissors like combo in mind.
Weavile has four weak attacks with interesting secondary effects, so everything (item, evs, nature) is built around boosting those attacks to the level where they can OHKO if they get a super effective hit.
Unfortunatly this meant a choice item (which I hate) so it is essential to keep the other two team members around to switch back into.
These attacks each counter a paticular type of annoying behaviour which would otherwise ruin a pleasant battle.

This team is paticularily good against Dragons, and I haven't really found any weaknesses other than perhaps Swampert and Electric Types. My team lacks ground and grass type moves to counter these properly although I can still OHKO most of the electric types with Infernape.
However I've only battled with mostly OU pokemon and have yet to test this against Legendary Ubers.

Thanks for reading :)

Okay, let me see what you have so far.

Take Flare Blitz off of Ape. With a sash, the recoil will kill you right away. Split the EVs and use Fire Blast. You only need 192 (I think, but you should check) speed EVs, because you arn't going to outspeed much more with what you have there due to his 108 base.

Starmie, nix Psychic for Grass Knot. You will rarely use Psychic, and will have a hard time with Swampert otherwise.

Also, when I read your title, I thought your team was based around Scizor, becuase you mis-spelled scissors. But speaking of Scizor, he outclasses Weavile, despite being slower. He has Pursuit, Bullet Punch (which can 2HKO most dragons after SR anyway), and other moves to produce similar coverage.

Some great advice thank you very much!

Sorry about the title, but I actually did try Scizor along with Tyranitar and Salamence for the third spot. I just didn't get much use out of them personally, I really like the speed and OHKO's Weavile offers.

I will be adding Thunderpunch/Grass Knot (is anyone around who can tutor platinum moves for a reasonable fee?). Grass Knot especially will solve big problems for me.
I think I'll keep Flare Blitz however, I don't like moves with below 90% accuracy and I think I've done a decent job so far judging when to use Focus Sash and when to use Flare Blitz. I'll definatly be keeping this in mind when battling tougher opponents however.

I'll update soon with +3 Pokemon. I'm considering Gengar, Electrivire and maybe Aerodactyl.
