OU Sun offense

I've peaked somewhere in the 700s with this team.

Ninetales (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Power Swap
- Will-O-Wisp
- Overheat

Why does nobody use Power Swap + Overheat Ninetales?? Hypnosis can potentially put a switchin to sleep if it hits, Overheat and Power Swap form a combo that allows me to fire off some very powerful Overheats if I Power Swap against Volcarona, as well as dropping it's Sp. Atk like a rock. WoW patches up the poor Defense, letting me also cripple any physical sweepers not named Conkeldurr.

Donphan (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Head Smash

Any team that's using Volcarona essentially requires a Rapid Spinner, Xatu, or Espeon, and that's where Donphan comes in. Donphan is also the only spinner that can be an actual offensive threat, as well, outside of Hitmontop, who has to give up a lot of bulk to do so. Stealth Rock allows me to cripple opposing Volcarona, Rapid Spin can keep Ninetales and Volcarona healthy, as well as being the very reason I'm using Donphan. EQ is a STAB move, and hits anything weak to it hard. Head Smash OHKOes Dragonite if it has taken prior damage, and OHKOes Volcarona.

Wobbuffet (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Def / 228 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Mirror Coat
- Counter
- Destiny Bond
- Encore

The most important, if not the most important, member of the team, I present to you Wobbuffet. His ability, Shadow Tag, allows me to trap things like Politoed and either use them for set up fodder or kill them with either Counter or Mirror Coat. CounterCoat is my way of dealing damage, Destiny Bond can potentially kill something when I'm at low health, and they don't attack for some reason, but Wobbuffet's movepool consists of 8 moves, so I don't know what to replace it with. Encore can turn the opponent from a threat to setup fodder, and it can lock them into something they don't want to be locked into.

Volcarona (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Morning Sun

Bulky Morning Sun Volcarona is less powerful than the more conventional offensive Volcarona, but between the EVs, the nature, and Flame Body, I can set up on pokemon like Scizor no problem, something offensive Volcarona can't do. So, in the end, Morning Sun Volcarona is stronger than offensive Volcarona, as it allows him to get more Quiver Dances, therefore allowing him to muscle past pokemon like Heatran with Bug Buzz.
Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Mach Punch

At the beginning of BW, Blaziken was favored over Infernape, for more offensive power and the fantastic ability Speed Boost, allowing him to rip teams to shreds. But, now that Blaziken is banned, Infernape can finally retake his spot as one of the best pokemon in OU. But, Infernape had some things over Blaziken, like the ability to go mixed, forming the infamous MixApe. He also has priority, something Blaziken didn't have. So, Overheat for STAB and ripping apart anything weak to it in Sun, Close Combat is my main STAB move and destroys anything weak to it, HP Ice lets me beat Gliscor and non-Scarf Landorus, and Mach Punch is priority, gets the Iron Fist boost, and hits Terrakion hard.

Sawsbuck (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Return
- Wild Charge
- Nature Power
- Megahorn

LO + 4 attacks Sawsbuck. He is the fastest Chlorophyller, boasting base 95 Speed, and a nice base 100 Attack, which screams physical sweeper. Return gets great neutral coverage and hits basically anything hard. Wild Charge lets me revenge Gyarados, assuming it has less than 3 DDs, and it kills non-defensive Politoed, although Wobbuffet is a much more reliable option for killing Scarf variants. Nature Power OHKOes Heatran and Chandelure, who would otherwise wall me, and it's a good attack all-around. Powerful, no drawbacks, perfect accuracy? Yes please! Megahorn OHKOes Lati@s, and doesn't serve any other purpose, but it can also allow me to kill the odd Reuniclus.

So, what should I change?

Quick suggestion, you might want to try a LO sawsbuck instead of your current set. I'll post a full rate when i get back on later.

Tickle has its uses on Wobbofett. Tickling a wall repeatedly, and then sending in a physical attacker is a guarantee to make something hurt really bad, and can potentially take out an otherwise tough wall.

After Sawsbuck and Ninetales are gone, your team gets brutally raped by rain teams. Chansey could play a big part on this team. So could Skarmory, although this is a sun team, he still works decently. Instead of Donphan, run a basic impish Skarmory. Instead of Wobbefet, try Eviolite chansey, with stealth rock. I like the Volcarona set, and it looks as if he is the overall teams bulky sweeper. Other than those changes, this is a great team. Good luck with future peaks.

So I basically don't really need a spinner, since Volcarona has Morning Sun, and weather inducers are trapped by Wobb, or if I go with Chansey, she can wear down weather inducers with Toxic and Seismic Toss, support Tales with Wish, and provide Stealth Rock?

Should I run SpDef Skarm or physical Def? I mean, it isn't really going to tank Water hits with only min SpDef, and it's going to have sort of meh Def if I don't invest in Def.

Exactly. Chansey will take the special attacks, so run an impish natured skarmory, with 252 HP and 252 Def. On Chansey run a calm nature with 128 special defense, 128 defense, and 252 hp. Toxic, Seismic Toss, Stealth Rock / Protect, and Wish.

I think you should have a spinner like Forretress, who can also set up hazards too. You need a spinner with Bulky Volcarona because of TSpikes.

So basically, run a Forry over Skarm? I've been having success with a Chansey + Skarmory hazard core.

A spinner would be convenient. Although Forretress doesn't have access to a reliable recovery move, and a stalling move, that forces your opponent out ie: whirlwind. I think Forretress would help Volcarona a lot more. Take stealth rock off of chansey, and use protect. Here's a Forretress set:

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
- Payback
This set allows you to lay out your rocks, while stopping pokemon that will try to set up on you with Toxic. Rapid spin for obvi reasons, and payback is used to hit Gengar, although you could run toxic spikes.
