Team Overview
This is my Sun Team that I've been working on for a while. After some testing, I've found that the team is pretty good, but I want to see if there's any way to make it better, or if I just need to do some more studying into the format in order to improve my prediction and decision making skills. That's really all I have to say, so now onto the team.
Team Breakdown:
Name: Ninetales
Gender: Female
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Drought
Ev Spread: 156 HP/124 Def/228 Spe
IV Spread: 31/0/31/31/31/31
Nature: Timid
Move Set: Will-O-Wisp/Flamethrower/Sunny Day/Roar
Description: Ninetales is obviously the big weather fiend of the team, setting up weather during the match so that my other Pokemon can thrive. The set Ninetales carries is mainly just supportive. Will-O-Wisp induces the burn condition on pretty much any Physical sweeper she comes up against. Flamethrower is just a basic attacking move in case Ninetales needs to defend herself. In the situation where Ninetales hits the floor the same time as a Politoed does, Sunny Day is carried in order to cancel the Rain condition, and to ensure that Ninetales can survive at least one blow from a Choice Specs set. Lastly, Roar is a phasing move in order to rid the field of pesky set-up sweepers such as Swords Dance Lucario and Bulk-Up Conkeldurr, alongside destroying Baton Pass teams if the opportunity arises. Ninetales can also scare out Politoed & Abomasnow with Drought, giving it an immediate bonus.

Name: Venusaur
Gender: Male
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
Ev Spread: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
IV Spread: 31/30/31/30/31/30
Nature: Timid
Move Set: Giga Drain/Sludge Bomb/Growth/Hidden Power (Fire)
Description: Venusaur provides the Special Sweeping aspect of the team. With immense speed brought on by Chlorophyll, Venusaur blows through teams rather quickly after a single Growth. Giga Drain is a STAB move that recovers Venusaur the health he loses from the Life Orb, with Sludge Bomb being a STAB attack for coverage and possible poison condition, and Hidden Power being used to deal with annoying Steel types such as Skarmory, along with rounding out the coverage. In addition, since Venusaur is part Poison-Type, he absorbs Toxic Spikes laid down by Forretress & Tentacruel, and can scare them out with Hidden Power and Growth + Giga Drain respectively.
Edits being considered currently: I'm thinking of changing either Sludge Bomb or Hidden Power into Earthquake to make Venusaur a mixed sweeper. I'm also considering altering his Nature from Timid into Modest.
Name: Salamence
Gender: Male
Item: Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate
Ev Spread: 252 ATK/4 SpA/252 Spe
IV Spread: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Nature: Lonely
Move Set: Dragon Dance/Outrage/Earthquake/Fire Blast
Description: Salamence is a mixed sweeper for the team. Setting up with Dragon Dance, he rips through teams with STAB Outrage and Earthquake, using Fire Blast to round out coverage and increase his chances of surviving if he stays in against Ice-Types such as Mamoswine or Weavile. Intimidate is put in place so that he can be switched into Physical sweepers such as Scizor and other Salamence and attempt to stop them in their tracks.
Edits being considered currently: I'm thinking of changing Salamence's nature to a Speed based one in order to try and ensure he out paces other Dragon-Type threats. I'm also considering scrapping Salamence entirely for a different Dragon-Type sweeper, such as Garchomp, since Salamence's Stealth Rock weakness is rather annoying.
Name: Blissey
Gender: Female
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Ev Spread: 4 HP/252 Def/252 SpD
IV Spread: 31/0/31/31/31/31
Nature: Calm
Move Set: Toxic/Protect/Wish/Seismic Toss
Description: This is a classic Blissey Wish Support set. Blissey can Wish and then switch into any of my other Pokemon to fully restore their health, which comes at as a big bonus in the cases of Salamence and Infernape who both suffer greatly from Stealth Rocks and Spikes/Toxic Spikes respectively. Blissey acts as the main wall of the team, being scared out by only a few Pokemon, namely Conkeldurr and Scizor. Toxic is used to cripple other walls that Blissey comes up against, such as Gastrodon. Protect allows Blissey to safely scout out other teams movesets, and Seismic Toss allows Blissey to deal at least a little bit of damage to opponent teams.
Edits being considered currently: I'm considering swapping Seismic toss out for Flamethrower in order to allow Blissey to deal damage to Gengar and attempt to scare out Ferrothorn and Forretress more effectively.
Name: Infernape
Gender: Male
Item: Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
Ev Spread: 4 HP/252 ATK/252 Spe
IV Spread: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Nature: Jolly
Move Set: Flare Blitz/ThunderPunch/Mach Punch/Close Combat
Description: Run of the mill Choice Band Infernape set. Flare Blitz and Close Combat are the STAB moves that provide ample coverage over most Pokemon. Mach Punch is a STAB priority move boosted by Iron Fist & Choice Band to deal maximum damage, with Thunder Punch allowing Infernape to surprise unprepared teams by destroying their Starmie, Choice Specs Keldeo, or other annoying Water-Types that Infernape can outspeed.
Edits being considered currently: I'm currently considering changing Infernape's ThunderPunch out for U-Turn so that Infernape can deal damage if he needs to switch out. I'm also thinking about changing Choice Band out for Choice Scarf so that Infernape can outspeed more threats in the OU Metagame. Other considerations are for Infernape's set to be changed into either a Mixed Sweeping set with Overheat or Fire Blast or into an Anti Lead set with Fake Out and Stealth Rocks.
Name: Donphan
Gender: Male
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Ev Spread: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spe
IV Spread: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Nature: Impish
Move Set: Earthquake/Ice Shard/Rapid Spin/Stealth Rocks
Description: After attempting to play with Starmie, Forretress, Tentacruel, Hitmontop, and Claydol with very little success with each, I fell back on Donphan, and have had some varied success with it. Donphan replaced both Mamoswine and Forretress on the older version of this team, taking over the Rapid Spinning and Stealth Rock laying duties of Forretress as well as taking over the Ice Shard revenge killing duties of Mamoswine. This has had some decent success, with Mamoswine's revenge killing being more difficult to accomplish. Earthquake is put in place in order to give Donphan a STAB attacking move should it need to defend itself. Donphan comes into use when needing to defend against Pokemon that Blissy cannot, such as Conkeldurr & Scizor. Despite this, the fact that Donphan is the only Pokemon on the team to be able to set-up Entry Hazards becomes frustrating, as Stealth Rocks do not do an effective job in disrupting all Pokemon that switch in. Donphan's low survivability against Pokemon that exploit his weaknesses, such as Jellicent and Sableye does not help the team either.
Edits being considered currently: I'm currently considering scrapping Donphan completely and attempting to use Forretress again, as he can set up both Stealth Rocks and Spikes. I'm also toying with the idea of replacing Donphan with Tentacruel, who can set-up Toxic Spikes and can sponge some attacks from Conkeldurr and Scizor.
