Team Details
I decided to pick a sun team since I am relatively new to the competitive scene, and figured a weather team would be an easy way to start. Sun is my favourite Pokemon weather, so I decided upon that. Since I am quite new to pokemon, the team will probably be shabby, but I have play tested it at least a few dozen times on showdown.

Pokemon

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Solar Beam
- Flamethrower
- Roost

Charizard Y is my sun setter and a special attacker. I use his drought to bring in the sun, and then I attempt to do as much damage as I can with him, or switch him out if need be. Solar beam is for rock, ground, and water type coverage. Flamethrower is for stab and sun boost. Dragon pulse is for pesky dragon types and anything that resists the other two moves.

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Roost

I feel like Talonflame is pretty standard in a sun team. Flare Blitz has stab and sun boost, so it can generally 1HKO anything that doesn't resist except maybe a few physical walls. The priority given by Gale Wings also helps with sweeping, or healing up with roost. I chose U-Turn for versatility, I am trying to decide whether to take swords dance instead.

Victini @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Zen Headbutt
- Fusion Bolt
- Facade

I'm playing around with Victini at the moment, and I really like him. V-Create under sun destroys everything. Zen Headbutt is a nice stab. Fusion bolt provides type coverage. Facade is just in case he get's statused, then it will make him hit even harder. If this should be replaced with another move, please let me know.

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Earthquake
- SolarBeam/Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Rock/Fire]
- Sunny Day

I am having a bit of trouble with venesaur. I feel like Venesaur needs a rock move to hit flying types, however, the only one he can learn is Hidden Power. Hidden Power fire is also pretty good for type coverage with pseudo-stab, however I have never used it. I am also debating SolarBeam or Giga Drain. Venesaur is an excellent chlorophyll sweeper, and with Earthquake he can destroy pesky steel types or other fire types. He can also reset sun if needed.

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Foul Play
- Protect
- Wish

Umbreon is my favourite wall. Umbreon can take any special hit besides for fairy moves, and aura sphere. As far as Physical attackers are concerned, Foul Play takes care of them. Umbreon only has to worry about fighitng physical attackers, but the rest of my team covers that. Foul Play wrecks physical sweepers, toxic is very handy for whittling down tough pokemon, and the huge heal by umbreon's wish. I believe umbreon makes a great supportive wall, that can also take down pokemon itself if needed.

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish

I recently replaced my defogger mandibuzz with Latias, and so far love the change. Latias can take a stealth rock, and can finish things off with Draco Meteor or Psyshock. After their hazard setter is dead, if needed, I can use healing wish to heal other important pokemon. I think Latias synchronises well with my team.

Review
I feel like my team is will rounded and can handle most things that are thrown at it, although I am here to find that out, or to find out if I can do it better. Since I am quite new, I am very eager to hear more experienced players input. Thank you for taking your time to read this!

my do you have ninetales over charizard y as a sun setter
if you want a wall get chansey
if you want a better defogger get lati@s, btw no one uses sun teams anymore because sand is more common (see my rmt lol)

You need to add at least 3 lines of description and reasoning for each of your team members and provide some insight into the team building process. Also, pictures help a lot and make reading your RMT easier and more pleasant.

As for your team, I think a more reliable defogger would help a lot. I'd suggest Latias since it's not weak to rocks and can soak up Water and Ground type attacks aimed at your team. It can also restore a crippled mon in the late game so you can clean your opponent out. Draco nukes a lot of offensive threats and Psyshock helps you deal with Breloom, Conkeldurr and Mega Venusaur.

Fix up the op and test out your team some more so you can figure out where your team struggles. Good luck.

I have made some changed to my team, and have fixed up my original post. I apologise for the mess up, I read the required reading threads but totally forgot when I made this. I cannot wait to hear some responses, I want to destroy peoples hopes and dreams with my sun team :D

Your OP looks a lot better. As you battle more, you'll be able to better determine a threat list for your team. The number 1 threat I see right now is Tyranitar. It can come in, change the weather and threaten a lot of your team members. It can Pursuit trap Latias and set up rocks to really hinder your team. Tyranitar also handles Zard and Victini fairly well. You should change Dragon Pulse to Focus Blast on Zard since it can OHKO many Tyranitar variants and has better coverage than Dragon Pulse.

252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 404-476 (100.2 - 118.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Thank's for the tip. The last time I faced a tyranitar with this team is before I made Charizard my sun setter. When they switched in tyranitar, I would mega evolve charizard to reset the sun and solar beam them. Also, wouldn't solar beam be just as good? Or is the extra damage from 2x weakness really necessary. I don't like the 30% chance to miss, especially since with my luck that 20% will be more like a 60%.

Yes. Focus Blast is necessary. Solar Beam won't get the job done. FB barely KO's as it is. And you don't want to keep Zard-Y unevolved longer than you have to. Even if you did, T-tar would just tank the Solar Beam and KO you.
