A Closer Look

38.png

YellowLady - Ninetales (F)@Choice Specs
Timid
Drougth
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Flamethrower
- Overheat
- SolarBeam
- Hidden Power Figthing

With Drougth, Ninetales is indispensable on Sunny Team. Flamethrower and Overheat are the STAB's, SolarBeam and Hidden Power I use to counter the "Bulky Waters"(like Swampert and others) and the scary Tyranitar.

SellyB. - Sawsbuck (F)@Focus Sash
Adamant
Chlorophyll
252 Atk / 72 Hp / 184 Spe
- Horn Leech
- Return
- Jump Kick
- Swords Dance

At first I would use it as BatonPasser, but I change my mind, and then i transform it in a powerful soldier. She use Horn Leech to attack and recover the HP, Return and Jump kick to give a covarage and Swords Dance to raise the Attack, with the help of Focus sash and Chlorophyll I have one turn to do this.

485.png

HEATRAN - Heatran @Choice Scarf
Timid
Flash Fire
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Flamethrower
- Overheat
- Hidden Power Ice
- Earth Power

I chose Heatran as my Fire/Flash Fire pokemon , because now I don't worry too much about the Stealth Rock, and the Flash Fire absorb the Fire type moves, Like Ninetales, Flamethrower and Overheat with the Sunny make a enormous destruction. Earth Power give a coverage, and finally Hidden Power ICE to smash Ground Type Pokémon (and Dragon, who resist the moves of my other sweepers).

80.png

Hipplow - Slowbro (M)@Leftovers
Bold
Regenarator
252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 SpA
- Calm Mind
- Fire Blast
- Psyshock
- Slack Off

You probably gonna think " This guy is crazy, using a Water-type on Sunny", so call me Crazy, because I did it, Calm Mind to raise the stats (the SpA and SpD), Fire Blast have a tremendous power under the Sun, Psyshoc to catch Blisseys and Chanceys finally Slack Off to recharge the hp.

143.png

FatCake - Snorlax (M)@Choice Band
Adamant
Thick Fat
40 HP / 252 Atk / 40 Def / 176 SpD
- Body Slam
- Fire Punch
- Pursuit
- Eathquake

I don't pick the classic "Curselax" because its very commom in the metagame, Body Slam may paralyze the foe, Fire Punch cuz its Sunny , Pursuit to catch the anonymous switchers and Earthquake as a resource for the Fire and Electric foes ( Who could defeat Slowbro and Venusaur ).

3.png

Bruteroot - Venusaur (M)@Life orb
Modest
Chlorophyll
252 SpA / 24 Hp / 232 Spe
- Growth
- Sleep Power
- SolarBeam
- Hidden Power Fire

I feel obligated to use it, He's perfect under the sun(With the Chlorophyll). Growth give him more SpA. Sleep Power its a chance to attack without the foes move , SolarBeam is the STAB's move, and Hidden Power Fire is more powerful under the sun.

and that's my team... What you think???

Hi, solid team. Now first of all, Choice Specs Ninetales Solarbeam is just begging Tyranitar or Politoed to come in, change the weather, and gain the momentum. You would be much better off going with a Sunny Day Ninetales to gain the momentum for yourself. Simply use Sunny Day if you predict a switch-in, and as long as Politoed/ Tyranitar are not scarved, dispose of them with Solarbeam. Even though you lack the power of Choice Specs, Sun boosted Fire Blast still does a number, and you can also add Leftovers to improve Ninetales's survivability. Stealth Rock and other hazards damage could take their toll, and Leftovers would greatly benefit in that regard. 128 HP / 252 SpA / 20 SpD / 108 Spe allows you to outspeed all non scarf Politoed/ Tyranitar, have maximum power, and decent bulk

Speaking of entry hazards, your team would appreciate some of your own. Heatran seems like an appropriate candidate. Simply swap your current set for an Air Balloon variant. With Air Balloon, Heatran can now take out those random Chlorophyll sweepers and Dragons who carry Ground moves. As well, go with Stealth Rock and Fire Blast over Flamethrower and Overheat. Stealth Rock cripples opposing Pokemon, such as Volcarona and Dragonite, and can also help your sweepers grab extra 2HKOs and OHKOs they normally wouldn't get.

Go with a Life Orb on Sawsbuck for sure, as well as 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with a Jolly Nature. With Horn Leech, the Life Orb recoil won't matter much, as you can just heal it off. The extra Speed is useful for speed-tying opposing Sawsbuck, while the Life Orb will more than make up for power. Slowbro should pretty much carry Ice Beam no matter what. One of its best assets is its ability to check dangerous sweepers such as Landorus, Dragonite, and Salamence. Why sacrifice that by not using Ice Beam? Calm Mind seems good on paper, but Slowbro rarely finds an opportunity to set up. You should also consider going with Psychic over Psyshock to better take on the likes of Conkeldurr.

Finally, any good Sun team uses Rapid Spin support to improve Ninetales's survivability. A good candidate would be Specially Defensive Forretress, who doesn't give two shits about the Sun because it would never have survived a Fire move in the first place. Since you've already got Stealth Rock on Heatran, and you don't really need Toxic Spikes, go with Gyro Ball as the last move so you don't get set up on by the likes of Latias and Terrakion. Spikes gives you another entry hazard to punish opposing switch-ins, while Volt Switch gives you a way out against Magnezone.
