Hey, so, not really sure what to put for my introduction, haha. Well, this team was started due to Salamence's banning since the last time I was on here. I saw that Latias was banned, and decided to take advantage by using Infernape, who was forced into the shadows after Latias was introduced to the OU tier. Oddly enough, throughout my battles, I have found myself rarely, if ever, using Infernape, as my current team usually destroyed everything on it's own, whereas Infernape was unable to contribute much.
The Lead: Metagross@Occa Berry
Clear Body
Adamant Nature: 252 HP, 248 Attack, 8 Speed
Moveset: Bullet Punch
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Stealth Rock
This is your average lead Metagross, Occa Berry for taking a Fireblast and firing back with a powerful attack, and to finish with Bullet Punch. Earthquake and Meteor Mash are for hitting the various leads, and any other pokemon Metagross might find himself again. Bullet Punch for priority, for those Focus Sashers we all love. =) And of course, Stealth Rock is self explanatory, useful for obtaining KOes pokemon would not normally have, and hindering switch in's from the get go. I think that Metagross does his job very well, and I've been able to handle every lead I've come against, except for one. Stockpile Hippowdon. That thing almost completely wrecked my team.
Utility: Scizor@Choice Band
Technician
Adamant: 248 HP, 252 Attack, 8 Speed
Moveset: Bullet Punch
U-Turn
Superpower
Pursuit
Scizor is on this team for his useful resistances, priority, and general utility. Bullet Punch is for powerful STAB priority, U-Turn for scouting. Superpower is for those annoying Steel types, and the pink blob of DOOM! =) Pursuit is for taking out runaways. Scizor does his job very well, and will most likely stay on the team.
Spinner/Cleanup: Starmie@Leftovers
Natural Cure
Timid: 252 HP, 4 Def, 252 Special Attack
Moveset: Surf
Thunderbolt
Rapid Spin
Recover
Starmie is here for getting rid of annoying hazards, especially Stealth Rock, which Staraptor absolutely hates. Surf and Thunderbolt of for basic coverage, Rapid Spin for removing entry hazards, and Recover is for well, recovering. =) Very useful, great at what it does.
Royal Wrecking Ball with balls of STEEL! Heatran@Life Orb
Flash Fire
Timid: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Special Defense
Moveset: Fire Blast
Earth Power
HP Grass
Substitute
Heatran is one of those pokemon that comes in, and just starts terrorizing everything. Usually I come in, Sub, and blast away. Fire Blast is for powerful STAB, and is usually my first attack, leaving a sizable dent in anything not named annoying pink blob. (Blissey!) Earth Power and HP Grass are for additional coverage, notably Swampert. Substitute is to ease prediction, and protect from status, and a bunch of other stuff. I've been debating over using Leftovers instead of Life Orb, but I haven't run into any problems so far, Heatran's really there to tear massive holes in the opponents team. =)
Revenger/Scouter/Hard Hitting Physical Attacker: Staraptor@Choic Scarf
Intimidate
Adamant: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Defense
Moveset: Brave Bird
Close Combat
U-Turn
Return
I've always loved Staraptor, and although I didn't expect him to fit in well, he's really doing a good job on the team, as well as proving a cruical earth immunity. Brave Bird and Return are for basic hard hitting STAB, Close Combat is for Heatran, Blissey, anything that is weak to it really. U-Turn is for scouting, of course.
Main Sweeper: Infernape@Life Orb
Blaze
Naive: 4 Attack, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
Moveset: Close Combat
Fire Blast
Nasty Plot
Vacuum Wave
This team was centered around Infernape, and rightly so. Sporting great speed, and fantastic dual STAB, and excellent offenses on both sides. Close Combat is for Blissey, Non-Scarfed T-Tar, and other pokemon. Fire Blast will be his main sweeping tool, along with Vacuum Wave. Think, special Lucario, with a tool for dealing with Blissey. Nasty Plot is for the crucial boost. Unfortunately, Infernape hasn't been doing his job well, and after close to 100 matches, he has not swept once. Maybe I'm just bad at setting him up. As well as the fact that I have two electric weakness and no resistances, I'm thinking about getting rid of Infernape. Of course, I'm open to all considerations and suggestions. Thank you for your time!
