OU-Team of a Novice. Please help me to get better^^

Hello and welcome to my RMT ;).
Every Pokemon has some explanation beyond it's moveset
to make clear what purpose it serves.

Bronzong @ leftovers
levitate
252 hp / 72 atk / 128 def / 56 sdef
brave (+atk,-spd)
- stealth rocks
- gyro ball
- hypnosis
- reflect

Bronzong normally starts off with one of the 3 set-up moves.
Perfectly would be to first sleep the opponent and then sr.
He has resistances to most common leads too.

- changed from azelf
- works all the way better and counters some threads that I had problems with before

Lucario @ life orb
steadfast
252 atk / 252 spd / 6 hp
- close combat
- crunch
- extremspeed
- swords dance

Lucario is the sweeper of the team. He sets up a SD and sweeps nearly anything.
Most time the problem is just to bring him in...

- changed Scizor to Lucario.
- problems are to bring him in safely

Cresselia @ leftovers
levitate
252 hp / 200 def / 56 sdef
bold (+def;-atk)
- calm mind
- ice beam
- psychic
- moonlight

Cresselia can wall a lot of pokemon.
Also if she sets up calm mind she can sweep some.

- changed the EVs and the attacks to hopefully fit me better.

Sceptile @ leftovers
overgrow
252 spd / 200 def / 56 hp
timid (+spd;-atk)
- leech seed
- substitute
- enery ball
- hidden power {fire}

Sceptile is a really fast guy to out some threats with either sub-seeding or the grass/fire combination.

- Sometimes it works well, sometimes he just can't do a thing.
- He also kinda struggles with the power.

Salamence @ leftovers
intimidate
252 spd / 190 atk / 62 satk
naive (+spd;-sdef)
- draco meteor
- flamethrower
- earthquake
- thunder fang

He was a suggestion from Arcanez. I was first not sure wheather or not thunder fang was good on there
but it just fits very well.
The main purpose of him should be to counter heracross.

- With now a rapid spinner on the team his survivability is really increased, so he can come in more often.
- But also he lacks some power sometimes. The draco meteor isn't really that powerfull to take something out
that wouldn't have been taken out by the other moves.
Maybe some working on the spread?

Starmie @ lefties
natural cure
160 hp / 216 spd / 132 satk
timid (+spd;-atk
- surf
- thunderbolt
- recover
- rapid spin

Counter for mixape and also can spin away rocks to help salamence.

- changed from swampert
- I'm not quite sure if I should not better run the counter-star set with both, thunderbolt and ice beam.
'couse the lack of one always annoys me xD

Yeah... that's my team so far.

- I had a little problem with cresselia early on while testing.
- other thoughts and problems are listed beyond every pokemon.

If you have any thoughts to make this team better, please let me know.
I also would like to say, that I'm kind of new to Pokemon, so please
explain your thaughts clearly.

Thank you.

Also thanks to Arcanez and Venom, who helped me a lot so far!

Ok.Here we go. I think azelf is a bit of a waste,as you just destroy it straight from the off.May i suggest a Nasty Plot azelf - The basic smogon set will do.Use Swampert as your lead and swap Stone Edge for Stealth Rock - Avalanche covers Flying types.

The Salamence with Choice Scarf is unique but not all that great. You have reliable fast pokemon,Salamence can already hit over 300 speed - it doesn't need more. Can I suggest a Salamence of my own idea? Like ChainChomp this is ChainMence,

Salamence @ Leftovers
Naive Nature (+Spe -SpD) 190atk/62spAtk/252spe

-Thunder Fang
-Flamethrower
-Draco Meteor
-Earthquake.

This set catches people out - Switch him in on a pokemon that's weak to special, predict the switch to a special wall (If they know you attack with special) and lay down an Earthquake/Thunder Fang.Flamethrower covers Steel and Grass types whilst Draco Meteor dents anything it can.

On Sceptile, try replacing Grass Knot with Energy Ball for overall better damage.

On Cresselia switch either Protect or Light Screen for Calm Mind - This supplys it with much better defensive possiblities,if you do this also swap Charge beam for Ice Beam,or if you Dread Gyrados - keep it.

The Ev Set i would suggest:

Cresselia@Leftovers
252Hp/40spAtk/140spDef/62Def

Ok,I hope i helped and good luck with the Team.

wow ^^

Thank you so much. I tested the team, as u posted and it was
just sooo much better. I cannot believe it :).

I do play Cresselia with calm mind instead of light screen and
put ice beam over charge beam.

Scizor finally works (in contrast to shoddy, which provides me with hp {normal} on sceptile and azelf instead of fire and fighting...).
But I mostly don't need either Azelf or Sceptile ...xD

I'm hoping for someone to post some thaughts to this team though.
I'll look here again tomorrow and edit the team.

I'll be doing some more testing and going to bed after this - it's
already late here in germany...

ok, then have fun here.
And again thanks to Arcanez ^^

Nasty Plot azelf as a lead is just a no, due to Tyranitar being one of the common leads, it will destroy you, with you doing nothing to it, if it's gonna destroy you, atleast Set-up stealth rocks and explode on his ass. I don't like Toxic + Protect on Cresselia, it gives you no Garchomp coverage at all. Why don't you go Calm Mind cresselia? It will let you eliminate Garchomp and other pokemon better, since YacheChomp is a problem, after a few Calm Minds you will be able to take out Garchomp even with Yache Berry. She should look something like 252 Hp / 176 Def / 80 SpAtk @ Bold, try it out and see how it works.

Like you said, you have problems with Tyranitar, Gengar, and Weavile. These pokemon can be easly handled by a Bronzong. Due to it's typing, it's a very effective pokemon, sleeping pokemon and killing the named pokemon with Gyro Ball. You already have a pokemon who sets up stealth rocks, so why not leave the job to Bronzong as a lead, sets up rocks, and change Azelf to something that can handle MixApe, like Starmie, and still be able to special attack. Bronzong's standard evs are 252 Hp / 72 Atk / 128 Def / 56 SpDef @ Brave / Relaxed. I would change Salamence, he isn't a good user of a Choice Scarf, he kill cause more havoc with a Choice Band or Choice specs, even the DD version will help. If you add, say, bulky Salamence or Gyarados (I would go with Mence, since it has access to Roost), it will help you handle Heracross and Lucario, since you have problems with them.

I would change either Scizor / Sceptile for a SD Lucario, who can get the job done better.

As promised: team got tested and updated.

changed 3/6 pokes...<.<
but it works ^^.

Thanks to Arcanez and Venom for helping me!
I hope I'll get more of these good posts here. ;)
