this is a team ive been making for wifi battles, mainly on serebii. i got this completed and together yesterday i think i was, recently at least. ive been in a few battles and this team has lost once and not by much. im not sure how it could be improved, any suggestions?
lead
aerodactyl @ focus sash
nature: jolly
ability: pressure
evs: 252 attack 252 speed
stealth rock
taunt
rock slide
earthquake
this is the standard lead aerodactyl. he is possibly the most important pokemon on the team as he does two things. he sets up stealth rock, and helps prevent the opponent from doing the same. When he is done setting up stealth rock, he can still pack a punch on several pokemon. i choose rock slide over stone edge for two reasons, accuracy (stone edge doesnt seem to have the 80% accuracy for me...) and the flinch rate.
gyarados @ leftovers
nature: adamant
ability: intimidate
evs: 252 attack 252 speed
dragon dance
waterfall
stone edge
earthquake
gyarados is possibly the best sweeper in the game. after a single dragon dance he is able to out speed a majority of pokemon and ohko several, and 2ko many more. i try to get two in when i can, but that is easier said than done. i recently took off life orb, but am considering replacing it. gyarados is a fearsome sweeper. electric attacks are brutal on him, so i also have...
BBQED RIBS (aka jolteon) @ pateya berry
nature: timid
ability: volt absorb
evs: 252 special attack 252 speed
thunder bolt
substitute
toxic
baton pass
this is my special sweeper of a sorts, although not a great one. he serves more as a status spreader and sub passer, and possibly team scouter. he does end up being a sacrificial pokemon sometimes though. i have come up with sweeps from him and he is very useful. toxic takes care of many bulky grounds and blissey to some degree. i usually will sub on the switch and toxic the counter while they break my sub. he takes elecric attacks for my gyrados, and gyarados takes the ever so common earthquake for jolteon, often causing a switch with the help of intimidate and getting a free dragon dance. and jolteon is one of my favorite pokes.
heracross @ choice scarf
nature: adamant
ability: guts
evs: 252 attack 252 speed
megahorn
close combat
stone edge
pursuit
scarf cross pwns. he has saved my ass in several battles. he has immense speed and a great amount of power. there is little that can stop the might of heracross. megahorn and close combat are power moves that are great to have and kill many. stone edge pisses me off with how innacurate it is, but there isnt much i can do about it. it does kill fliers when it hits at least. pursuit takes down many pokes that run. he also resists earthquake which my team seems weak to.
lucario @ life orb
nature:adamant
ability: inner focus
evs: 252 attack 252 speed
swords dance
close combat
extreme speed
ice punch
lucario is the newest member of the team. as of yet, he has proved more useful than skarmory to me. the priority move he has is needed on this team. lucario is a great late game sweeper and has plenty of uses. ice punch can destroy gliscor and salamence. close combat annahilates almost any wall, ohko ing skarmory after a single swords dance and stealth rock damage. extreme speed takes care of fast and frail sweepers, jolteon and alakazam for example. i am considering the bulkier evs for this set, 252 hp, 96 def, 136(?) sp def, 24 speed. that makes use of resistances which is a reason i choose lucario, but i dont know how useful that would be. ground attacks bring in gyrados for a free dd. fire attacks aimed at him (and heracross) are deflected towards...
heatran @ choice specs
nature: modest
ability: flash fire
evs: 252 sp att 252 speed
overheat
earth power
dragon pulse
?will o wisp?
this is the main special attacking force on the team. overheat coming from a stab, specs, possibly flash fire boosted poke with as high of a special att as heatran, really hurts. cresselia is possibly 2ko ed with the sp att drop factored in. i have will o wisp on him right now which will hurt the many physical attackers that often come to scare me off. overheat is the main move and almost the only one i use. will o wisp gets some use, and the other two are pretty much fillers. i dont have explosion because it does rather pitiful damage to blissey. remember this is wifi team so i cant really change the nature too easily. i have great success with heatran, many expect a scarf and get hit hard not expecting the uber powerful overheat, which is still (somewhat) functionable after a special attack drop or two.
this is my team, most likely an offense team using resistances and other kos to get members in. i have had a lot of success with this team so far. i dont know what could be helped, but im sure there is something.
