XY OU OU TEAM (UPDATED) Please make suggestions

gengar
Timid
Levitate
Life orb
252spa/252spe/4hp
Shadow ball
Icy wind
Sludge wave
Taunt

This is a non mega-set for gengar. It is a life orb special attacker for my team. It's main job is to counter any fairy threats. Icy wind can kill a eq locked lando-t while shadow ball and sludge wave offer powerful stab. Taunt is to deal with stalkers. The evs are your standard 252 special sweeper spread.

Heatran
Timid
Flash fire
Air balloon
4hp/252spa/252spe
Flamethrower
Earthpower
Stealth rocks
Flash cannon

This is my offensive stealth rock layer. It packs a nice punch while adding stealth rock support. Air balloon is useful to get off an attack or stealth rock to start off in case they go with a lando-t lead which is common in today's meta. Flash cannon and flamethrower are stab while earth power offers the reliable ground coverage. I put My 252 evs into spa while putting some in speed to allow him to get past some bulky threats; the rest was put in hp for bulk.

Slowbro
Bold
Regenerate
Slowbroinite
248hp/252def/8spa
Scald
Psyshock
Calm mind
Slack off

Slowbro is the mega of my team along with physical and special(with calm mind) tank. This is a very useful mega slot for my team that can also counter special walls with psyshock and give it stab along with scald. Slack off restores a good chunk of hp while calm mind buffs this dude to because a serious threat. Evs were put in hp and def to add great bulk when combined with calm mind.

Garchomp
Rough skin
Jolly
Salac berry
252atk/252spe/4hp
Outrage
Earthquake
Swords dance
Substitute

One of the classic sweepers. My physical sweeper that is only afraid of steel and fairy. Fire fang can counter while lum berry allows outrage spam. Earthquake is reliable and powerful stab while swords Dance buffs. Evs are standard 252 atk and spe sweep evs.

zapdos
pressure
Timid
Assault vest
252spa/252spe/4spd
volt switch
Thunderbolt
Heat wave
Hp ice

I switched out my raikou for this Zapdos. It offers very similar advantages as raikou while eliminating a threat. This guy is a great counter for lando-t with its flying type and hp ice. Heat wave is for coverage while thunderbolt is stab. Volt switch allows scouting. Evs are set for a fast special attacking scout.

Scizor
Technician
Careful
Leftovers
252atk/252hp/4spd
Bug bite
Bullet punch
Swords Dance
Roost

A Staple of the ou metagame and my Bulky physical sweeper. Bullet punch priority stab and bug big is technician boosted stab. Swords dance buffs while roost heals. Careful makes up for lower spd and hp Evs add bulk.

Just noticed that your missing your Scizor's item. I'm still working on a full rate, but I thought I'd point that out while you wait.

So the first thing I noticed about your team is that you lack any form of hazard removal. It's important for balanced teams to fit some form of hazard control so that you don't get worn down from switching.

Anyway, on to the individual mons (any set recommendations I make will be placed in a spoiler tag at the bottom):
  • Gengar: I would replace Energy Ball with Taunt. Energy Ball tends to be a poor coverage move that doesn't really help deal with a lot of threats. Taunt will help you to break Stall a bit more easily. In addition, if you ever find that you don't like Icy Wind, a good replacement would be Focus Blast, which'll give you perfect neutral coverage.
  • Heatran: I would move some of the HP EVs into speed. With 244 Speed EVs you'll be able to outspeed some things that could threaten you like normal Heracross and max speed Mega Scizor.
  • Slowbro: I would consider using a standard defensive set for Slowbro and freeing up your Mega slot. Given your lack of a defogger and the fact that Mega Slowbro still doesn't really like switching into special attacks, I think your mega would be better invested in Mega Scizor (more on that later). If you do, you should drop Calm Mind for Thunder Wave. You don't have a lot of super-fast mons, so Thunder Wave will help you slow down opposing mons.
  • Garchomp: Looks OK, though you may want to consider using Substitute over Fire Fang to stop Stall mons from Burning it a little more efficiently. If you do, I'd swap the Lum Berry for either Salac Berry or Leftovers. This is less of a suggestion and more food for thought.
  • Raikou: Right now your defensive core lacks lacks a strong answer to Landorus-T since Slowbro is slower than Landorus-T and often carries U-Turn. Thus, you may want to consider swapping Raikou for Rotom-W since it handles Landorus-T a little bit better.
  • Scizor: Right now your team lacks a reliable defogger which can be problematic. In order to help with this, I'd actually suggest using Defensive Defog Mega Scizor. It'll give you a bulky Defogger and something that can revenge kill (to an extent)
Hopefully these changes help you a bit

Aradu95, I believe you are only allowed to post one new RMT per two weeks. You should edit your previous thread if your team is similar, or wait two weeks.

Thanks a lot man I like a lot of your suggestions. Landon-t has actually been the biggest problem for this team lol

Hey man I took some of your suggestions while adding my own tweaks. See what you think and let me know! It has improved a lot after making some adjustments

Just a few things

Gengar should probably run Focus Blast over Icy Wind, so your team has an easier time with Bisharp and Tyranitar. Here's what the set should turn up to look like:
Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
- Sludge Wave
The 29 IVs in HP were chosen, as this minimizes Life Orb recoil. While this set does have bigger problems with Ground/Flyings, you're running a Slowbro, so it's nbd.

Zapdos' set isn't really optimal, as it's primary role is a defogger, and you're taking that away from it for its offensive capabilities. Assault Vest also may sound good as a defensive choice, but it makes it very easy to wear down. Here's the standard set:
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 68 SpA / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Defog
- Heat Wave

This set lets Zapdos be a good counter to Mega-Pinsir, while also being a defogger that can beat Bisharp. The EVs let Zapdos be physically bulky, while outpseeding Adamant Bisharp and guaranteeing the OHKO on Mega-Pinsir with Thunderbolt. Cool mon, though!

more minor notes:
  • change Garchomp's item to leftovers, as it appreciates the residual recovery more than the situational speed boost, usually
  • change Scizor's nature to Adamant, as this makes your attacks stronger while still having good bulk
  • maybe make a list of previous pokemon/moves/whatever in the op, to show what you've already tried and your though process behind changing it (do it under a hide function to not clutter the thread, I could help you with that if you need it)
  • try running a spread of 248 HP/ 80 Def/ 176 SpDef with a Bold nature on Slowbro, as this lets you avoid the 2HKO from Diggesby's return while maximizing your mixed bulk
  • make an importable version of your team at the end, so that it makes it easier for people to test it out (under a hide function of course)
  • totally optional, but maybe add some sprites to make it look nice and stuff? they usually come from here: http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/
other than that, seems like a solid team! have fun with it, and welcome to smogon!
