OU Team

Hi guys, I've been experimenting with many teams, but this one has gotten me quite some wins, until I fight with people with 1300s and up. Can you please give me some pointers?

Metagross @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 160 Def / 96 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Zen Headbutt
- Stealth Rock
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake

Metagross is my stealth rocker that sets up the entry hazards. His other moves can be used to affect damage to the opponent's Pokemon, but normally, I would switch him out. I have a bit of trouble with Swampert starters, because they can quake and OHKO my Metagross. Otherwise, I think he's a great start.

Starmie @ Life Orb Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 255 SAtk / 255 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam

I use this to clear out the stealth rocks because Volcarona needs it...badly. I will switch in Starmie when I predict a water type move coming, and it fits perfectly. Thunder will obliterate the water type, plus the scope improves the accuracy. Ice beam and hydro pump are there for extra damage with my maxed sp atk

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Ice Beam
- Softboiled
- Protect

My staller, or wall. It hangs in there with softboiled and leftovers while toxic and ice beam can add extra damage. Extra useful for ghosts and dragon types, although focus blast does a bit. Its maxed hp is not something easy to get by, though, so I use this to take out as many pokes as I can before switching to the attackers.

Garchomp (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 212 Atk / 44 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Crunch
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Draco Meteor

My attacker. Main use is for Draco Meteor and claw to take out dragon types like haxorus, but also used to take out things typewise, or to use a strong Draco Meteor to take out something I would otherwise have trouble with.

Volcarona (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Morning Sun

Weak (defense wise) and incredibly strong (attack wise) This is why my starmie clears the stealth rocks so my Volca can come in and buzz all the pokes down. With swarm, its buzz is tremendously powerful, and the flame dance can not only deal fire damage, but also raise sp. atk! Now, how much more sp. atk does volca need!

Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Hhttp://www.smogon.com/forums/editpost.php?do=editpost&postid=3411545P / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]

My revenge killer. Anyone falls, Chandy will probably have a supereffective move, and that move will be super strong with the choice scarf. Once that poke falls, then I would switch my chandy back out accordingly.

Ok, I so lead with Metagross to set up stealth rock and to do some damage. Chandelure is my revenge killer, so whenever a poke goes down, I pick Chandy to come in and take the poke out (hopefully shandy will have a supereffective move that fits with the choice scarf. Otherwise, I switch in Pokes accordingly for supereffective moves, and I use starmie for a nice rapid spin to clear up for my volcarona (stealth rock will do wonders to it). My Salamance's Overconfidence will boost its attack every single time it takes down a poke, so then earthquake, etc will be more powerful. If I need to stall, I"ll go for my Blissey and softboiled. I've had trouble with gengars in the past, which is why I got a metagross. I also took out a grass type (ferroseed I think) for a metagross. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thx!

Side note: Any ideas to exchange shandy for anything?

I turns out Shadowtag Chandelure is banned so if you want to keep, switch to flash fire.

Maybe put focus sash on Metagross so it can at least get rocks up.

Maybe instead of ice beam, put psychic on starmie so it can get STAB.

Other than that, your team seems pretty good.

Also, switch all of your 255 to 252 because 4 EVs = 1 stat boost. Since there isn't an even amount into 255 you wantto do 252 so you have some extra left over to add into other stats.

Metagross @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 160 Def / 96 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Zen Headbutt
- Stealth Rock
- Bullet Punch/Meteor Mash
- Earthquake

Metagross is my stealth rocker that sets up the entry hazards. His other moves can be used to affect damage to the opponent's Pokemon, but normally, I would switch him out. I have a bit of trouble with Swampert starters, because they can quake and OHKO my Metagross. Otherwise, I think he's a great start.
Ok, first off. Dont waste those Evs. 255 increases yourStats the same by 252, use those 4 extra for something else. Next Hammer Arm was taken off for Bullet Punch or Meteor Mash which in turn gives you another usuable Stab and possibly a priority move(if you chose Bullet Punch)

Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 Hp /252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam

I use this to clear out the stealth rocks because Volcarona needs it...badly. I will switch in Starmie when I predict a water type move coming, and it fits perfectly. Thunder will obliterate the water type, plus the scope improves the accuracy. Ice beam and hydro pump are there for extra damage with my maxed sp atk
Starmie needs more speed. Life Orb Improves power more than a slightly more accurate Thunder. Thunderbolt is a lot more reliable than thunder. Now Ice Beam along with Thunderbolt provides near perfect coverage. Also dont use illuminate... it doesn't do anything.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss/Flamethrower/Ice Beam
- Softboiled
- Protect

My staller, or wall. It hangs in there with softboiled and leftovers while toxic and ice beam can add extra damage. Extra useful for ghosts and dragon types, although focus blast does a bit. Its maxed hp is not something easy to get by, though, so I use this to take out as many pokes as I can before switching to the attackers.
Never use a neutral nature. Bold boosts your defense and you dont need your attack stat at all with Blissey. I slashed in Ice Beam and Flamethrower because they also provide great Attacking options.

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 212 Atk/44 SpA/252 Spe
Naive Nature (+Spe, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
- Outrage
My attacker. Main use is for Draco Meteor and claw to take out dragon types like haxorus, but also used to take out things typewise, or to use a strong Draco Meteor to take out something I would otherwise have trouble with.
This is a better Mixed attacker, Outrage and Draco Meteor Provided Dangerously strong Stab options. Fire Blast rapes your opponents steel types. and Crunch demolishes ghosts types that are everywhere.

Volcarona (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

I Prefer The Chesto Rest over Morning Sun TBH. But this isnt too bad, It can work.

Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]

My revenge killer. Anyone falls, Chandy will probably have a supereffective move, and that move will be super strong with the choice scarf. Once that poke falls, then I would switch my chandy back out accordingly.
Hidden Power Ground helps with Fire types and Heatran. And I couldve sworn Chandelure isnt banned with Shadow Tag? This is Dream World, But Im not sure.

Ok, I so lead with Metagross to set up stealth rock and to do some damage. Chandelure is my revenge killer, so whenever a poke goes down, I pick Chandy to come in and take the poke out (hopefully shandy will have a supereffective move that fits with the choice scarf. My comments in red.
Also add pictures to your RMT it makes look nicer and more presentable. :) Welcome to Smogon.

I don't think you need to "Bump" so much. Plus I think its against the rules to triple post like that.

To be honest I don't like the idea of Choice scarfed Chandelure. It has the power but not the speed. I think its true power lies as a wall breaker. Choice specs'd and overheat destroys especially if you can get that Flash fire boost.

Thats all I got to say really.

This has worked well for me:

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: +SpD -Atk
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Moveset:
- Toxic
- Boil Over
- Ice Beam (Kinda wish I had Protect here so I could Wish -> Protect)
- Wish

Shadow Tag Shandera is perfectly legal in Dream World.

I think that Earthquake should go over Crunch on the Salamence set suggested as it provents Heatran from walling Salamence.
