OU Team!

So this is just one of my basic teams! iv been doing pretty good with it in OU. iv gone 20 and 2 with them. so now heres the run down!

Garchomp (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake

Garchomp here is probably one the best dragon types out their. no dragon can really beat him since he is the fastest so dragons aren't really my biggest threat. the dreaded ice types are. which is why i gave him fire fang. sword dance allows him to set up to one hit half of the opponent's team. earthquake is just another nice move to have on here.

Mienshao (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 4 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Hi Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stone Edge

Mienshao has made me learn that im going to need a fighting type to help metagross. she is an excellent revenge killer and she has great coverage. i wasnt sure wither to give her choice band/scarf or life orb. i decided that life orb was a better option so i could take on multiple enemies an have more of a variety.

Metagross @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naughty Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Body Slam

so i used to not have metagross on my team. my team seems to be very weak against a water type pokemon and especially a rain dance team. and also i needed help with fighting type pokemon like conkeldurr. this is why i choosed metagross. theirs really nothing a rain dance team has that can be super effective to him and his defense is high due to him being a steel type so going up against pokemon like conkeldurr is no problem for him! body slam just allows me to do some extra damage an possibly get a paralyze off and bullet punch allows me to get that finishing hit off.

Blastoise (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Roar

i don't care what people say about blastoise, hes one of my favorite starters! the main purpose of him is that 1: he can take the hazards off that crippled my team and 2: he can pack a punch and somewhat take one. i prefer scald over hydropump because of the burn chance. i also like to throw him against dragon types so garchomp doesn't have to. roar is just nice to i can keep him out their throw off other threatening pokemon and force them to take extra damage from ferrothorns hazards.

Volcarona (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flame Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spd
Bold Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
- Roost

i personally love volcarona, i can set up really nice and totally destroy the other team. i guess their isnt really much to say about her because everyone runs her exactly the same so i guess we can just move on!

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Power Whip

ferrothorn has a pretty obvious role in this team, set the hazards and deal as much damage till he cant do it anymore. iv always thought that he was pretty weak because their isnt much he can do but everytime i throw him out their, as long as their isnt a fire type, he always seems to take at least 2 pokemon down before he dies. i rarely use him as a lead but he hasnt disappointed me yet!

so let me what yall think! im sorry their isnt any pictures! i didnt know how to get them on their so if someone would tell me, i can make my next thread look alot better!

well ok latios and latias are and then arceus. other than them, garchomp is. but i haven't come in contact with many latioses or latiases an even when i did blastoise took car of them. and also i said "probably the fastest." don't say anything unless you're actually going to help give advice.

I gotta say, your team is quite good pal! I mean dem resistances! :afrostar:

But, it does have some flaws, i'll do it quick:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garchomp:
Great pokemon, and nice moveset. BUT, to use his power to his full potential i'd use this moveset:

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf (makes it A LOT faster)
garchomp.gif

Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Outrage: STAB, seems obvious, makes up for weakness Dragon
Stone Edge: Good power, high-crit ratio, and screws up Ice and Fire types
Earthquake: STAB, seems obvious too, also super-effective against Ice types
Fire Fang: Just in case, if you're dealing with Ice types and Grass types

Mienshao:
Rarely seen it in CB haha , but seems like a good pokemon. Your moveset seems quite fitting for it, but instead of HP Ice, it would be better to give it Taunt, since it can force out walls (you WILL be needing that). The rest is just fine, keep it that way.

About the EV's; i don't think you have used all your EV's correctly , you have 4 Atk, 4 SpA and 252 Spe. ;)
I think you probably meant 252 Atk, 4 SpA and 252 Spe, sorry, had to point it out.

Metagross:
Ermm it seems fine, but i don't think it's really that needed, you could better switch it for a Magnezone (Elektross is also an option, but Magnezone is a better choice), a unique moveset for it:

Magnezone @ Leftovers

Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SDef
Calm Nature (+SpD, -Atk)
Substitute: No one would see it coming that a Magnezone would have Substitute, this way it's shielded from attacks and status conditions (great against weather teams)
Thunder Wave: Handy for those fast f*ckers
Thunderbolt: STAB, great for rain teams ;)
Hidden Power (Fire)/Hidden Power (Ice): HP Fire for Steel type, Ice for ground types, both are good options, but in your team Ice is definitely needed.

Another option could be Thunder when your facing a rain team, that way rain can be a advantage towards you, they're minds will blow!

You could use the usual moveset for it, but this is really different than normal and it's gonna suprise some players!

Blastoise:
Sorry man, i respect your choice, but it REALLY isn't good for OU, trust me, you'll see later on. A better choice would be a favorite of mine Politoed (i have one of my own, DAYUM), my Politoed's moveset is:

Politoed @ Leftovers
politoed.gif

Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
Scald: STAB, and chance to burn
Protect: For Toxic/Perish Song stalling
Perish Song: Forcing the foe to switch out after several turns, can really mess up startegies, and good to use on foes last pokemon
Toxic: Should be obvious for Politoed, for stalling

Just a good pokemon for the team!

Volcarona:
Change item to Life Orb, spread EV's as 252 SpA, 4 SpD and 252 Spe, change nature to Modest, replace Roost into Giga Drain, and you have a perfect sweeper, just set up with Quiver Dance, and you're good to go!

Ferrothorn:
Very good OU pokemon, but i think that your Ferrothorn needs some polishing, maybe try the standard set and make it a really good Hazard-setter:

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
ferrothorn.gif

Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
Spikes/Stealth Rock: Hazard-setting moves
Leech Seed: Slowly sap foe's health
Power Whip: STAB, if you need to attack
Thunder Wave/Gyro Ball: Thunder Wave to status infliction, Gyro Ball as extra STAB

Ferrothorn's main use is for hazard setting and stalling, even though he is a potential sweeper, you'd best use him as a Hazard-Setter/Staller.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope my suggestion's will help, i wish you further good luck! If you have any questions, just ask. :)

No offense RubyLime1 but:

Sand Veil is a banned ability at least on Showdown.
Earthquake is not SuperEffective on Ice Types.
Everyone expects Sub on Magnezone. Everyone.
Thunder Wave is NOT good on Zone.

Now onto my rate:

I second Zone, but with a much better set:

Zone@Lefts
Magnet Pull 252 HP/ 252 SpAtk/ 4 Whatever

Sub
Charge Beam
HP Fire
Flash Cannon

The goal is too trap Steel types with Magnet Pull and set up Sub. Then get a few Charge Beam boosts and your golden. Try to have a Sub when you kill the Steel so your safe from the next Poke. This set usually kills a Steel Type and at least one, if not 2 other Pokes, if you play it right.

ScarfChomp is pro. And please do not turn this into a rain team. Please.

Try Jellicent to form the FerroCent core:

Jelli@Lefties
248 HP/ 252 Def/ 8 SpDef

Scald
Shadow Ball
Recover
Toxic/ WillOWisp

So there is the rate. Hope I helped and good luck in the future!

Right, sorry, i'm pretty new myself to competetive battling, so sorry if i forget that things are often banned!

Real quick, on Volca, you could try to run HP Ground over Giga Drain/ Roost to nail Heatran, the ultimate Volcarona counter. It is uncommon but can end Volca's sweep easily:

+2 0 SpA Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Heatran: 43-51 (11.16 - 13.24%) -- 9HKO at best
And that's after 2 QDs. Heatran can Roar you out and let Stealth Rocks finish you off. Even at +6:
+6 0 SpA Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Heatran: 86-102 (22.33 - 26.49%) -- possible 5HKO
He can still take a hit, and Roar you out, eliminating all of your Boosts, and killing you with Stealth Rocks. But if HP Ground is thrown into the mix:
+2 0 SpA Volcarona Hidden Power Ground vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Heatran: 360-428 (93.5 - 111.16%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
At +2, after Stealth Rocks, Volca can and will OHKO Heatran with HP Ground. This leaves you open against Jellicent, but Magnezone will fix that problem... HINT HINT
