OU VoltTurn & Friends

The title pretty much says the Overview of the team. Its a VoltTurn team that relies on momentum of moves like Volt Switch & U-Turn to dish out varying amounts of damage, scout a pokemon's set, and bring out an appropriate check/counter.

Somebody needs to show me how to insert sprites

>--Azelf sprite here--<

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder

This one of the most effective Azelf sets I've used. Fire Blast is in here to get the first turn jump on Ferrothorn and Forretress. It works so well because those two seem to give so much trouble every time I play against them. Since using this team that has been a relatively unnoticed problem. Taunt of course rips apart slower SR setters like Donphan, Forry, and Ferrothorn(when he's in rain). SR is on the set because it is arguably the best move in-game. Thunder is here simply for the OHKO on Toed. my opponent wants to have perma-rain on the field? Okay, I get a 6-5 advantage then and we will call it fair.

>--Insert Keldeo-Resolute Sprite Here--<

Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 Spd
Timid Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Bug]
- Protect

Keldeo is an absolute beast. His Double STAB Sacred Sword + Surf combo takes a major crap on a Meta filled with Rain and Sand teams. Hidden Power Bug surprises Celebi on the switch. The Pixie doesn't deserve to live. Its a pain to this team so hard and catching it on the switch just is amazing. Protect helps me scout opposing sets in the early stages of the match and catch some bluffs, while healing a little bit every time.

>--Insert Rotom-W Sprite Here--<

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch

Hydro Pump + Thunder STAB combo pretty much spells end of game for any rain team. If it wasn't for this little guys Double powered STAB Hydro Pump coupled with STAB 100% accurate Thunder, rain would be a tough battle. However thanks to these small additions I pretty much never lose to rain. Even Mons like Thundurus-T or Toxicroak which resist one of his STABs, take high damage from the other one. His HP Fire is for dealing with Jirachi, Scizor, and other steel types which aren't afraid of him. Volt Switch is a great move as it gains great momentum and can switch out to an appropriate Check/Counter for the situation at hand.

>--Insert Latias Sprite Here--<

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Surf

Latias's special bulk is legendary. Only current special attacks in the Meta that can even make it wince are Specs Latios's Draco Meteor. Latias comes in virtually untouched against any special attacker and can immediately start setting up CM boosts. If it takes any damage it can simply Recover it off and be fresh as new. Dragon Pulse is a great STAB move that is resisted by very few pokemon. Those pesky Steel-Types that do resist can get hit by CM boosted Surf for high damage.

>--Insert Scizor Sprite Here--<

Scizor @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bug Bite
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower

The second part to the VoltTurn core, Scizor is a wallbreaker. He hits everything hard with his Bullet Punch/Bug Bite Technician STAB boosted moves. Those coupled with Superpower have pretty great coverage tier-wide. U-Turn is Scizor's bread and butter though. U-Turn helps Scizor retain the momentum gained by Rotom-W's Volt Switch and requires the opponent to think very carefully before choosing their moves.

>--Insert Landorus-Therian Sprite Here--<

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Finally we get to the last part of the team, Landorus-T. He's used over his cousin Landorus-I in this team for his niche ability in Intimidate. He's a reliable check to late-game Mance/Chomp/Gyara sweeps and OHKO's the former two with HP Ice. He doesn't only come in on them though. Pretty much any physical mon wants to get out of his way or chance being destroyed by Edge/Quake coverage. On this switch he can use Rock Polish so that he can outspeed his common Checks/Counters in Keldeo, Latios and the like. And trust me no one wants to take a hit from a LO STAB Equake.

Hi there!

This is a very interesting team you have here, Volt-Turn is a real interesting strategy, and I would like to give you props for using it to some degree of success. However, this team has some flaws in it, so hopefully my rate can help iron out those flaws and even improve this team even more. With that said, let's get to my rate. First up, I would like to suggest running a Choice Scarf Rotom-W over your current Rotom-W set. Choice Scarf Washtom is a staple for Volt-Turn teams, due to it's suberb defensive synergy with Scizor, and not only that, but they take advantage of entry hazards, in this case, Stealth Rock to abuse U-Turn and Volt Switch to it's fullest potential. Another thing I would to suggest running a Stealth Rock Terrakion over your current Azelf. Stealth Rock Terrakion is an excellent addition to your team, as it helps your late game sweeper, Landorus to sweep more easily with Rocks on the field, and Taunt allows it to beat Forretress, the most common hazard setter. Now that I have gotten the two flaws in this team out of the way, I'm going to so some nitpicking. Keldeo wants Calm Mind and Hidden Power Ghost over your current Protect and Hidden Power Bug. Calm Mind raises Keldeos Special Attack and Special Defense stats to sky high levels, making it's STAB attacks even stronger. Hidden Power Ghost helps you hit the likes of Jellicent, Gengar, the Lati Twins and Reunuclus, all of which are huge threats to this team. Moving onto your team, changing your Scizor spread to 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD over your current one would be optimal. This EV spread gives Scizor maximum bulk, while giving it an extra opportunity to switch in to Stealth Rock. Finally, Landorus really wants a Modest Nature to strengthen its moves to the max. Also on Landorus, run Earth Power and Focus Blast in place of Earthquake and Stone Edge. With Earth Power, Jirachi, Tentacruel, Infernape, and others are covered here while Focus Blast covers Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Dark types and a whole lot more. Well, that's all I have to say for this team. I hope my advice helped. Have fun and good luck with your team in the future!

Well, I think you misread the part about Landorus. Its not the common Landorus-I. Its Landorus-T (Landorus-Therian) his other form. The one with sky high base attack stat. Scarf Rotom-W makes sense, will change test that.

Also, Terrakion is good, but you failed to give me a good reason to run it over Azelf... Azelf has base higher speed then Terrakion allowing him not only to taunt the same things Terakion does, but also Terrakion himself w/o relying on speed tie. Azelf also, OHKO's the early Ferrothorn and Politoed. Something which Terrakion can't accomplish.

EDIT: Also, the Keldeo and Scizor changes look great.
