OU-Z, A new virus! (BW OU)

YES! There is a new virus... not really, but Porygon-Z is awesome. Great intro huh? Anyways I haven't made a team in a while so try to understand if I lack essentials for my team to live in this tier called OU. I have been running this team a little bit through PO and it holds it's own. I do notice a Dragon weakness but don't know what I should throw in there to make it better so help is appreciated (mainly CB Dragonite, but with prediction he goes down pretty easy). Pretty much what happened was this week I have been really bored with standard teams. I have standard pokes in my team, but they're hanging out with a different crowd. I tried to make a effective team yet different. Probably isn't and I have been living in a cave, but oh well.
I have a huge downfall against Wish Stall Rachi, but I don't really know how I should counteract to it. Also if Porygon is dead I don't have much to stop a Gengar Sweep besides Terrakion. This has happened twice already.

Porygon-Z @ Choice Specs
Trait: Download
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Dark Pulse
- Trick

The Pokemon I had in mind from the beginning. His place might not be in OU originally, but he is surprisingly good. 2HKOs the bulkiest Tyranitar out there (the common one) [w/ HP Fighting], 2HKOs Latios' [w/ Dark Pulse] and more! lol Tri Attack = POWERFUL STAB, plus the chance to give the foe a status. Trick is there so I can mess with walls, and stall Pokemon. Dark Pulse is for coverage, and so is HP Fighting. With Choice Specs Porygon-Z can easily OHKO those things I mention though and with a boost from Download I can get a late game sweep. Also helps break walls.

380.gif

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SAtt
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse

I didn't really know how I should have made this Latias so this is what I cam out with. I think I should go for more of a stall version though. Calm Mind to get a not even needed boost as it's pretty bulky, but it always helps. Recover to prolong Lati. TBolt for bulk water because otherwise I have nothing to stop a Milotic sweep. DP for STAB. Should I switch to HP Fire though?

385.gif

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 24 Spe
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtt)
- Stealth Rock
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Iron Head

Wish support is amazing and always helpful to a team that can barely heal itself. Body Slam give me damage and a big chance (thanks to SG) of paralysis. Stealth Rock is a needed hazard for big threats. And Iron Head is a nice STAB and has a chance to flinch the opponent.

073.gif

Tentacruel (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 210 Def / 48 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Protect
- Rapid Spin

Standard Acrueltent. TS to set up some hazards, Scald for potential burn if TS aren't up and STAB. Protect to stall, and Rapid Spin for spinning away hazards. Too standard but oh well.

639.gif

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor

Now this is as standard as it gets! Lol, Choice Banded Terrakion hits like a truck so I am not really complaining. CC is super powerful and not much can stand it. SE and EQ create that perfect EdgeQuake coverage and X-Scissor covers his weaknesses.

227.gif

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 26 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Roost

Last but not least, a standard Skarm. He is my phazer and a good one at that. Walling things like Scizor and Landorus which are hige threats in this metagame today. Spikes for needed hazards, BB for STAB and helps against those gosh damn bugs! Whirlwind for what I stated earlier and roost for recovery.

Last look at the team (and their asses apparently):

You use Spikes and Tspikes, yet no Stealth Rock. You might want to fit SR somewhere on Skarm, because as good as the other two hazards are, they are overshadowed by SR. That's my only real criticism - otherwise, nice team - I like the idea of P-Z.

I did notice that and especially when things like Dnite, Mence, and Gyarados come in. Should I switch Stealth Rock for it though? Because Skarmory needs the other moves. Thanks. :P

You might want to use SR over Spikes on Skarm or even put it above Brave Bird. Another option is to put it above Roost and to have Latias pass Wishes to it, although Skarm really needs its direct recovery. I don't know - it's a difficult one but if I were you I'd put SR over Spikes.

I will try over Spike because Brave Bird is needed.

EDIT: Switched Spikes for Stealth Rock on Skarm.

I'm noticing a weakness to Dragon (you saw it), Ice, and Fighting. Your only resistance to Fighting (Latias) is a good one. However, it is weak to moves commonly accompanying Fighting moves, such as U-Turn and Payback. I would be careful if I were you. Also, you're going to get smacked by Ice typed moves. Starmie is going to punch holes in you. Thunderbolt OHKOs Skarmory, Ice Beam 2-3HKOs Latias and typically OHKOs Tangrowth, Psychic OHKOs Terrakion and Tentacruel. Hydro Pump is also going to do some damage, but you resist it thrice, so that isn't as big of an issue. You need something that resists Ice and isn't too weak to the Fighting/Dark combination. These are my quips.

I haven't had a terrible time with Starmie, but I see what you're saying. What could I replace though? Maybe switch Skarmory for Heatran? That gives me a bigger weakness towards fighting, but will cover the wholes for the other weaknesses. But still Starmie will wreck havoc. Any opinions are appreciated. :]:p

It is ultimatly up to you but Ferrothorn does work well in Tangrowths place as it has acces to leech seed. can set up spikes which works well with skarms stealth rock here is the standard set of smogon.(with a few changes geared towards your team

598.gif

Ferrothorn @leftovers/Shed Shell / Rocky Helmet- up to you
Nature: relaxed/ impish- run relaxed and 0 spe ivs if you want gyro ball
evs: 252 hp/88 def/ 168 Sp Def
moves:
-Spikes
-Leech Seed
-Gyro Ball/Thunder Wave/ Protect
-Power whip/ protect

personally i like thunder wave but you can use gyro ball to get some damage off.

Thanks, I will try it out and seed if he fits better. What scares me is the fighting weakness though. I have switch ins though so I should be fine.

Ferrothorn works well in conjunctoin with tentacruel it does leave you a little fighting heavy though but i wouldnt be to worried with latais and tentacruel having max hp and a resistance to fighting. props for porygon-Z he has always been one of my favourites

Cool team.
First thought is HP fighting seems a waste. You say you tri attack ttar, so why even have it? I'd go ice or grass there.
I think ferrothorn would work great, the only issue is he's rarely good at stopping scizor when scizor isn't banded. With a good switch though he destroys outragers and them pesky dragons.

i agree with cosmic flinch no point running hidden power fighting at all. not even for steel types! hidden power fire would be a much better optoin or even better something like thunderbolt or ice beam. i like the trick idea too

Hey snapback, nice team! PZ looks like a cool mon. Your team currently have trouble switching into powerful special attackers such as Specs Latios and Starmie, and although you can play around it with resistences, Trick Room Reuniclus also gives you some trouble. A specially Defensive Jirachi looks like a good fit. Jirachi is an excellent check to all three afformentioned threats, while also providing your Choiced guys and Tentacruel with Wish support. Jirachi spreading paralysis would be great for assisting Terrakion and PZ (after it Tricks away its Scarf) in a sweep. You can also put Stealth Rock on Jirachi, leaving a slot open on Skarmory for Spikes. Your team would really bennefit from Spikes, leaving your CB Terrakion with very little safe switch in, as well as netting PZ some extra KOs. I would use Jirachi over Tangrowth. Tentacruel and Skarmory can handle a large portion of physical attackers, while Latias handles rain teams so Tangrowth is of little use.

For some minor changes, Roar on Latias is useful for blocking status and Taunt, along with racking up hazard damage. Thunderbolt isn't really useful, as it's easy to get Calm Minds against bulky waters, at which point you'll be able to beat them with Dragon Pulse. With Jirachi supplying Wish support, you could also try Rocky Helmet on Skarmory to mess with VoltTurn chains including Landorus and Scizor. This also bluff that you're using a Shed Shell.

Jirachi | Serene Grace | Leftovers
Calm | 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Iron Head | Body Slam | Wish | Stealth Rock

Hope I helped and gl with the team!

Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Power Whip
- Spikes

Alright so I had Tangrowth, but with a huge weakness to Starmie I changed to Ferrothorn. He's pretty standard, Leech Seed and Leftovers keep him in the game, protect to stall in conjunction with Tentacruel's Toxic Spikes, and Power Whip is for STAB which also OHKOs Terrakion.

Cool team.

I meant HP Fighting does that to Ttar. Tri Attack probably does nothing but I didn't run calcs.

I will try Rachi, but where do you think he would mesh? In for Ferro?

they both have there pros and cons if you have jirachi you doent have that fighting weakness any more you can still cripple opponents with t wave. you can swap rocks for spikes on skarm and teach sr to rachi. but you wont have a poke with leech seed i reckon you should test out jirachi and choose between jirachi or ferro

And just as I added Ferro, I take him back.

I love the idea of porygon-z because that is a monster. Volcarona can easily sweep your team with 1 QD and if it has either Substitute or Hidden Power Ground. To remedy this problem, I'd recommend a choice scarf on Terrakion. If you go with this option, I'd recommend choice specs on porygon-z to give it a lot of power. Nitpick: change spikes over stealth rock on skarmory since you already have jirachi.

Doing a lot better, I see. You now have a slight weakness to Ground. You have two immunities, however, which is fine. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You have a nice offensive presence. Also, your Synergy is pretty worked out. Good job.
Your team went from 6/10 to 8-1/2 / 10

For Latias, give it maxed out defense instead of special defense. Calm Mind boosts his special bulk anyway, so you might as well give his physical bulk some evs.

Oh good point. I hadn't run into a QD Volcarona so I never noticed that. I will try switch the Choice items around.
EDIT: And as I say that I ran into one, but got the kill :]

That was a typo on Skarmory :P.

Thanks much, man :]. I noticed it as well. I hope I can make a perfect team, but that might be asking too much, lol.

Yeah I will change that because I always die to Pursuit, and if I stay in I am still screwed against Ttar and Scizor.
