Our OU team By: jnckfnfre and Keldest

Okay, So this team was made by me, jnckfnfre, and my friend on Pokemon Showdown!, Keldest (username is Gimmick Star). We weren't sure what kind of team to make at first, so we ended up deciding on Balanced in OU. We decided that the team would definitely have no weather whatsoever, because we prefer non-weather teams (also, it's an added challenge). Weatherless Opposition at a glance!

Teambuilding process:Weatherless Opposition V1.
Okay, so we pretty much confirmed that DDnite@Lum Berry would Outrage spam as a lead to break as many walls as possible for the Keldeo+Jolteon offensive core to clean up. The FerroCent core, a popular one on Rain teams since Drizzle Politoed's release, found its place on this team, which relies on Ferrothorn's Spikes so Heatran's Lava Plume can OHKO Smogon's Stealth Rock Metagross Set: 252 HP/96 Atk/160 SpDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpAtk). This is the most specially bulky variant that is viable, since Atk EVs are absolutely necessary on Metagross. I'll include some calculation in the team descriptions, don't worry:) Anyway, the Keldeo+Jolteon offensive core supplements the FerroCent defensive core, because the Spikes allow Keldeo+Jolteon offensive core to turn 2HKOs into OHKOs, and Jellicent Spinblocks of its own accord (lol). Scizor is a Bulky Swords Dance set, and can set up on Outrages and -2 Draco Meteors. We were having slight problems with Ferrocent though, so we went straight to Keldest's favorite core from UU, a menacing support core...UmbClops!Weatherless Opposition V2.
Yeah, so the team obviously kept DDnite because he's just a freakin' boss like that :) and he also destroys walls such as Ferrothorn and Heatran and weakens walls such as Skarmory and Forretress so the Keldeo+Jolteon core can sweep (hopefully). UmbClops seemed better than FerroCent because even though Spikes is lost in the shift, Umbreon gets Heal Bell and the Wish+Protect combination (coming off of a mighty Base 95 HP, backed up by 95/110/130 defenses to ensure a Wish. Umbreon was given 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpDef because he was naturally bulky on the special side and most Bug- and Fighting-type moves were physical (such as X-Scissor, Close Combat, Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Cross Chop, etc.), so the extra physical bulk allowed him to take a hit if we mispredicted. Moves such as Focus Blast and Bug Buzz from +1 Volcarona 252+ SpAtk could be tanked: 252+ SpA Life Orb Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Umbreon: 346-408 (87.81 - 103.55%) -- 18.75% chance to OHKO. So, as you can see, Umbreon can take those hits relatively well. Even +0 Alakazam 252+ SpAtk Focus Blast can't OHKO: 252+ SpA Life Orb Alakazam Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Umbreon: 307-361 (77.91 - 91.62%) -- guaranteed 2HKO. Dusclops was a Curse set, featuring the Curse+Pain Split combination. Since he lacked Leftovers, Umbreon's Wish support made this a deadly (and annoying and stally) defensive core. Everything else was kept the same, except Scizor was swapped out for Bulk Up Guts Conkeldurr with Leftovers, so we could use him as a status absorber, and he had Drain Punch to recover off Poison or Burn damage, while abusing his low Speed with Payback. However, the core was susceptible to Mixed attackers such as Infernape, who has a chance to OHKO Umbreon with a single Swords Dance boosted +2 Close Combat after Stealth Rock damage: 252 Atk Life Orb Infernape Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 296-351 (75.12 - 89.08%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Spikes. After Umbreon is gone, Dusclops cannot fend for itself due to lack of Wish and Leftovers. Thus...we give you the final version of the team!Weatherless Opposition V3.So, the team opted for the Celetran core as it revived hazards in the form of Stealth Rocks, sustained the type complement of the defensive
core, and introduced the 75%+ ragequit factor to the team, SubSeed Celebi. Keldest was actually considering SubSeed Shaymin as Seed Flare's 50% chance of -2 SpDef is quite useful compared to Baton Pass. Since we lost Umbreon and Keldeo and Jolteon hate Poison, and DDnite (if still alive after the carnage in the lead position) and Scizor loathe Burn, Baton Pass had to be foregone for Heal Bell. Later, we decided on replacing Heal Bell for Recover as Leftovers and Leech Seed recovery were simply not going to cut it, and we needed a reason not to use Shaymin (which doesn't get access to Recover or any other recovery moves other than Absorb, Mega Drain, and Giga Drain lol). We decided to replace leftovers with big root to sap more health with leech seed. Leftovers was not needed since we already had recover. Air Balloon Heatran was one of the best Metagross counters around, and Heatran paired well with Celebi, setting up hazards for Celebi to exploit, as SubSeeding generally forces many frustrated switches. We deceided to run Scizor again, except this time with Leftovers, and Superpower over Roost. This allowed Scizor to destroy Magnezones hoping to trap it and also demolishes Ferrothorn. So, without further ado, let's get to the sets!(Lum Berry)Trait: MultiscaleEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeJolly Nature (+Spe, -SpAtk)- Dragon Dance- Outrage- Earthquake- Fire Punch
This Dragonite lead serves as an extremely powerful, unreal wallbreaker. With Multiscale generally guaranteeing a Dragon Dance boost, DDnite will always Dragon Dance first turn unless the opposing lead is Scarfed and will outspeed after +1, or if the lead is Mamoswine, who will Ice Shard both turns and 2HKO DDnite. Otherwise, you are free to Outrage spam, and as soon as you get confused and Lum Berry activates, start Fire Punching those Steel-types like there's no tomorrow. Earthquake was used over Extremespeed to avoid Heatran walling the entire set for days (although a nice perk in the form of a damage calculation indicates that +2 Dragonite (You DD, Tran sets up Stealth Rocks, then you DD again and Lum Berry heals Will-o-Wisp burns) can actually 2HKO standard lead Heatrans, but will get Will-o-Wisp'ed in the process:+2 252+ Atk Dragonite Outrage vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 209-246 (54.28 - 63.89%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.Weaknesses: 2x Rock, 4x Ice, 2x DragonResistances: 2x Fighting, 2x Bug, 2x Water, 2x Fire, 4x GrassImmunities: Ground(Leftovers)Trait: Natural CureEVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpeTimid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)- Hidden Power [Fire]- Recover- Leech Seed- Substitute
Ah, SubSeed Celebi, what a stallwart. If you're not a couch potato, you're going to have serious problems against this thing. Rivaled in its role only by Shaymin, who lacks Recover but has Seed Flare, this thing is a beast. Hidden Power [Fire] over Giga Drain in order to neutrally or supereffectively hit the Grass-types who are immune to Leech Seed, and Recover healing this thing almost back to full from 50% Recover+6.25% Leftovers+about 10% Leech Seed=about 66.25% recovery in just one turn! I honestly have nothing else to say...Weaknesses: 2x Poison, 2x Ice, 2x Fire, 2x Flying, 4x Bug, 2x Ghost, 2x DarkResistances: 2x Water, 2x Electric, 2x Grass, 2x Fighting, 2x Ground, 2x PsychicImmunities: none(Air Balloon)Trait: Flash FireEVs: 252 HP / 88 SpAtk / 168 SpDefCalm Nature (+SpDef, -Atk)- Lava Plume- Roar- Stealth Rock- Protect
Heatran's Flash Fire ability is his best selling point on this team. What with Scizor and Celebi both being weak to Fire-type moves, Heatran fits well synergistically on the team. His ability to both set Stealth Rock and phaze with Roar allows him to rack up passive damage with his superior bulk. His typing also pairs well with Celebi's, and with Air Balloon equipped make the duo a hard stop to Metagross's rampage. Lava Plume coming off of 88 SpAtk EVs can comfortably 2HKO Metagross, who Meteor Mashes first turn then hopes to Earthquake next turn:0 SpA Heatran Lava Plume vs. 252 HP / 160 SpD Metagross: 200-236 (54.94 - 64.83%) -- guaranteed 2HKO If Metagross is Specially Defensive with 0 Speed investment or something insignificant like 32 Speed EVs, then Heatran can outspeed it uninvested. Protect scouts for Ground-type moves after Air Balloon is broken, and allows Heatran to react accordingly. Lava Plume can burn Metagross, hopefully wearing it down enough to become dead weight on the opponent's team.

Weaknesses: 2x Water, 2x Fighting, 4x GroundResistances: 2x Normal, 4x Grass, 4x Ice, 2x Flying, 2x Psychic, 4x Bug, 2x Ghost, 2x Dragon, 2x Dark, 4x SteelImmunities: Fire, Poison, Ground (if Air Balloon is intact)(Expert Belt)Trait: JustifiedEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 SpeTimid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)- Surf- Secret Sword- Icy Wind- Calm Mind
Keldeo is an absolute monster in OU! He wrecks anything in sight at +1, and even Lati@s can't safely switch in due to being made slower by +1 Icy Wind and then 2HKO'ed by it. Surf over Hydro Pump because usually accuracy is needed over power, and either is boosted in Rain regardless. Secret Sword allows it to serve as a pseudo-mixed sweeper and take down Ferrothorn with a 2HKO at +1. Its natural bulk almost ensure it a Calm Mind against a neutral hit, and after that Base 108 Speed is usually enough to clean up, as after a +1 boost Timid Keldeo hits 536 SpAtk. Its only counters are those that outspeed it, and those who wall it. The only relevant Base 109+ Speed threats in OU are Starmie and Lati@s, although Aerodactyl and Explosion Azelf are occasionally seen. Icy Wind patches up the Starmie and Lati@s problem, unless they get a free switch-in, which means all three can 2HKO with Thunderbolt if Keldeo has one Calm Mind boost up. Otherwise, the notorious RU defensive core of Slowking and Amoonguss wall it all day, as well as Jellicent, Slowbro, and Slowking (and technically Eviolite Slowbro:p) Even Psyshock users such as Espeon and Lati@s and occasionally Starmie destroy it. Keldeo serves as one of the best Blissey counters around, as with +1 it can swiftly avoid a Thunder Wave and Secret Swords the fat blob to death. Some of these calcs are crazy though:+1 252 SpA Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Dusclops: 156-184 (54.92 - 64.78%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, +1 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Umbreon: 380-450 (96.44 - 114.21%) -- 81.25% chance to OHKO, and even +1 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Milotic: 174-205 (44.27 - 52.16%) -- 82.42% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock!Weaknesses: 2x Electric, 2x Grass, 2x Flying, 2x PsychicResistances: 2x Fire, 2x Water, 2x Bug, 2x Ice, 2x Rock, 2x Dark, 2x SteelImmunities: none(Life Orb)Trait: Volt AbsorbEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 SpeTimid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)- Thunderbolt- Charge Beam- Signal Beam- Hidden Power [Ground]
Jolteon+Keldeo creates the team's offensive core. Together, they hit the entire OU metagame for at least neutral damage. Keldeo only misses out coverage on Jellicent, while Jolteon hits Jellicent very hard and eliminates almost all Ground-types with a 2HKO. Hidden Power [Ground] destroys Heatran and Charge Beam can be used to revenge kill and boost SpAtk in the process. Signal Beam is for coverage to hit Lati@s, and has a nifty confusion chance in a pinch. +1 SpDef Keldeo is cleanly OHKO'ed by +1 Thunderbolt:+1 252 SpA Life Orb Jolteon Thunderbolt vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 393-463 (121.67 - 143.34%) -- guaranteed OHKO. After getting off a few Charge Beams:+2 252 SpA Life Orb Jolteon Thunderbolt vs. 4 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 208-247 (31.9 - 37.88%) -- 98.93% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock. Weaknesses: 2x GroundResistances: 2x Steel, 2x FlyingImmunities: Electric(Leftovers)
Trait: TechnicianEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDefAdamant Nature (+Atk, -SpAtk)- Bullet Punch- Bug Bite- Superpower- Swords Dance
Scizor is the go-to Pokemon to either tank a Draco Meteor or Outrage or come in after a Pokemon has already taken a hit, because with the HP investment, -2 Latios 252+ SpAtk Hidden power [Fire] will allow Scizor to either Bug Bite if Latios has a high amount of health, or Swords Dance and then Bullet Punch if at a lower amount of health:+2 252+ Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latios: 259-306 (86.04 - 101.66%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock. While Specially Defensive Forretress is busy littering the field with hazards, Swords Dance twice and potentially OHKO it:+4 252+ Atk Scizor Superpower vs. 252 HP / 4+ Def Forretress: 292-344 (82.48 - 97.17%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock! A similar situation arises with Skarmory:+4 252+ Atk Scizor Superpower vs. 224 HP / 32 Def Skarmory: 313-369 (95.71 - 112.84%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock.

Weaknesses: 4x FireResistances: 2x Normal, 4x Grass, 2x Ice, 2x Psychic, 2x Bug, 2x Ghost, 2x Dragon, 2x Dark, 2x SteelImmunities: Poison
