Out with the old, in with the new!

Hi smogon,

Ok so this maybe getting a pit old but i have desided to re-do my old team that i posted on this site. I was having several problems that i had to change.
First the forretress on the old team wasn't pulling its weight so it had to go. The only problem is that i'm having trouble with the replacements.
This team is an attempt at an offensive team that will set up for a salamence sweep. Forretress is far to defencive even though he was useful as a spinner and stealth rocker, forretress was taken out far to quickly and couldn't fight back.

So here it is...

flygon.jpg

Flygon @ Choice band
Ability: levitate
EVs: 4 hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- outrage
- earthquake
- u-turn
- stone edge

Flygon plays a vital role in the team as the lead. His job is to take out pokemon quickly with the STAB outrage or earthquake as fast as possible.
Notable he works well in destroying steels and rock pokemon with earthquake. U-turn is for scouting and flygon does the job well having decent speed therefore being able to take advantage of a slower opponent and getting some damage on them. Thanks to Flygons great typing and ability it resists or is immune to all forms of entry hazards along with the immunity to sandstorm. Landorus was considered over flygon, but thanks to mainly to the combo of STAB outrage and earthquake, that is resisted by only skarmory and bronzong, flygon was chosen. Stone edge finishs the set with extra damage on ice and flying pokemon most notable gyarados who got otherwise pose a threat to salamences sweep.

metagross @ Leftovers
ability: clearbody
evs: 4 hp / 252 atk / 252 spd
jolly nature
- agility
- ice punch
- earthquake
- meteormash

metagross was added after the removeal of forretress and serve as a great tank. The set is a basic agility set, however ice punch was chosen over thunder punch to handle dragons like opposing salamences. This goes well with his type meaning he can take a hit and fire back an ice punch. Thanks to metagross forcing many switches, possiblty from choiced dragons, it is not hard to set up an agility and then attack. The meteormash is there for great STAB and earthquake hit those horrible steels that could get in the way of salamence. ice punch agin for dragons.
The evs and nature were chosen so that after one agility metagross could out speed base 100 pokemon with a scarf. The rest were put in to ATk for extra damage.
I would like to know if there is any sence in put stealth rocks on metagross along with more bulky evs?

Chandelure @ choice scarf
ability: flash fire
evs: 4 hp / 252 Satk / 252 spd
timid nature
- overheat
- shadow ball
- energy ball
- hidden power (fighting)

Chandelure makes an amazing revenge killer. With the great satk and spd it still pack quite a punch. Overheat is for huge damage on anything that doesn't resist it. Shadow ball is for nature STAB and hit psychics for a ton of damage. Energy ball deals with bulky water that my team find hard to handle, notably swampert. Hidden power (fighting) finishes with super effective on darks and most importantly tyranitar. It also teams with shadow ball giving prefect coverage. Chandelure plays a huge part as the revenge killer and takes out many threats that would hinder salamence. Chandelure can sometimes even get a flash fire boost if a fire move that would hit metagross is correctly predicted.

aabreloom.png

Breloom @ Toxic orb
Ability: poison heal
EVs: 12 hp / 252 ATk / 244 Spd
Jolly nature
- focus punch
- seed bomb
- substitute
- spore

Simple subpunch set. switch in set up a sub or spore then fire off a focus punch! Fast enough to abuse spore and then get a free sub. However low defences will be the death of breloom. Also brelooms many weaknesses pose a constant threat to it. Still Breloom seldom lets me down and normally is able to kill and/or cripple a couple of pokemon before it is taken out. I knew i wanted a sleeper so Brelooms spore is the main reason for using him. The poison heal and STAB focus punch are just great bonuses.
The move set is pretty self explainitory however should stone edge be used over seed bomb to deal with gyarados and others. It has less power because of STAB on seed bomb but it scores super effective on pokemon that resist focus punch. I still can't decide. Brelooms spore is an extremely useful move as only the opponent is crippled breloom can set up a free sub. If a new opponent comes in then it doesn't mater that brelooms speed isn't really that fast because once the attack has landed and the sub broken spore will put them to sleep, with 100% accuracy it is still a force to be reckoned with.

salamence.jpg

Salamence @ leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- dragon dance
- outrage
- earthquake
- roost

My amazing late game sweeper he works well and rarely lets me down. Dragon dance on a switch and go from there whether that's another dance or a sweep. Salamences weakness to stealth rocks is a pain but with roost and leftovers it's not to much of a problem. Ice is a problem for this team as half are weak to it. However with chandelure it's not that big a deal. The pokemon that really give me grief are garchomp with scarf, bronzong and skarmory. Skarmory and bronzong can be handled by chandelure. However Garchomp is a bit more of a problem, but once lock in to something it's not so bad and i may have a chance to take it out with meatagross. I try to use my team to take out any pokemon take could threaten Salamence so that I can set up and finally sweep with salamence. Dragon dance, outrage and earthquake are all pretty obvious moves which are resisted only by skarmory and bronzong. Roost is for healing and it also loses salamence flying type for one turn which mean neatral damage from rock and only a 2x weakness to ice.

gengar.jpg

Gengar @ Life orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
timid nature
- shadow ball
- focus blast
- substitute
- pain split

My favorite pokemon ever!!! great speed great special attack great move set to! Since Gengar forces so many switches i can take advantage of substitute and then go from there. It can hard wall easily especially blissy! Unfortunatly due to Gengar's terrible defences i've got to be very careful when it comes to taking hits unless i have a sub. Weavile is a problem as it's really fast and a night slash could finish me if a have no sub. In other words everything revolves around substitute. In terms of entry harzards and weather or status (except paralyz), Gengar benifits since it increases the effictiveness of pain split. Gengar is exellent in dealing with walls and that's his main use for me, that way Salamence is not hinderd by they while attemting a sweep. The moves are quite simple substitute for protection, pain split for healing and works as a great stall breaker. Shadow ball for great STAB that is teamed with focus blast for perfect coverage.

Options:
I'm well aware that this team lacks a spinner, which could hinder salamences sweep. It was suggested that i put in forretress however, it was to defencive and could help the teams as much as i had hoped.
I thought about starmie as an option to put in as a spinner, as it as great speed and power. This would mean that i could spin away rocks with out losing any attacking capabilities. However i have no idea who to take out of the team. The best choice is probably chandelure however that would mean losing my revenge killer and if i chose someone else the team would have a big weakness to ghost and dark.
Can anyone suggest a way around this. Possibly an offencive spinner that could fit in better.

Ok so that's the team please rate and comment on it, anything will be helpful.

Thanks again,
take care.
