Volcarona is a premier sweeper on hyper offensive structures, with Quiver Dance pushing its already intimidating STAB combination to nigh-unstoppable heights . Traditional counters to Volcarona like Heatran and defensive Garchomp can reliably deal with standard variants, but with Substitute and Swarm Volcarona allows Volcarona to muscle through these foes after repeated boosts while blocking crippling status like Toxic from Heatran and Toxapex as well as Thunder Wave from Clefable. Leftovers lets Volcarona play a longer game and make better use of Substitute, while Buginium Z offers absurd power that is sometimes necessary to enable a sweep. Buginium-Z enables Volcarona to immediately muscle through these aforementioned checks and secure important OHKO's on threatening stopgaps like defensive Landorus-T and Raging Bolt.

Due to a lack of Heavy-Duty Boots, Volcarona heavily requires hazard removal and denial from its teammates, to ensure it can safely use Substitute. As such, great partners for Volcarona include Magic Bounce users like Mega Diancie and Hatterene, as well as Terapagos for its guaranteed Rapin Spin with Tera Shell. In terms of breaking partners, Volcarona benefits from allies that help overwhelm its checks like Toxapex and Dragonite, so Swords Dance Garchomp and Raging Bolt make for excellent partners. Kingambit is a great partner as well, since even if Volcarona's sweep is interrupted, Kingambit greatly appreciates a wounded enemy team and a Supreme Overlord boost to boot. Leads such as Taunt Landorus-T and Mega Diancie are also great partners, as they serve to deny hazards off the bat and set hazards themselves, making Volcarona's breaking much easier.

Volcarona is a premier sweeper on hyper offensive structures, with Quiver Dance pushing its already intimidating STAB combination to nigh-unstoppable heights could mention what volc usually breaks through. Traditional counters to Volcarona like Heatran and Toxapex defensive Garchomp beating pex is deffo possible but its kinda hard to pull off im ngl can reliably deal with standard variants, but with Substitute and Swarm Volcarona flips these matchups into setup fodder allows Volcarona to muscle through these foes after repeated boosts talk abt how sub also blocks status like toxic from defensive heatran or twave from ghold. Buginium-Z enables Volcarona to immediately muscle through these aforementioned checks and secure important OHKO's on threatening stopgaps like defensive Landorus-T and Garchomp Raging Bolt. Flamethrower serves to compliment Bug Buzz by easing matchups versus myriad Flying- and Steel-types that could otherwise absorb the Swarm-boosted onslaught. dex info ngl Leftovers lets Volcarona play a longer game and make better use of Substitute, while Buginium Z offers absurd power that is sometimes necessary to enable a sweep. follow set order; lefties should've been mentioned first whil bug z should be after

In terms of team composition, variants of Volcarona that lack Heavy-Duty Boots are usually exclusive to hyper offense.
The need to keep Stealth Rock off of the field which gets harder the longer a game goes on means that Volcarona is favored on teams that can guarantee that there will not be hazards at one certain time, like at the earliest turns of a game or from a guaranteed Rapid Spin. Due to a lack of Heavy-Duty Boots, Volcarona heavily requires hazard removal and denial from its teammates, to ensure it can safely use Substitute. dude im being fr u yapped so hard there As such, great partners for Volcarona include Magic Bounce users like Mega Diancie and Hatterene, as well as Terapagos for its guaranteed Rapin Spin with Tera Shell. In terms of breaking partners, Volcarona benefits from allies that help overwhelm its checks like Toxapex and Dragonite, so Swords Dance Garchomp and special Kyurem Raging Bolt who uses kyurem on HO nowadays (do not say pressure stall kyurem) make for excellent partners. If not on hyper offense, one could consider Tapu Lele, Mega Latios, or Gholdengo to help break past sturdier cores and to chip down targets for a Volcarona sweep. always a HO mon do not ever use it outside of HO #trustme Kingambit is a great partner as well, since even if Volcarona's sweep is interrupted, Kingambit greatly appreciates a wounded enemy team and a Supreme Overlord boost to boot. could mention appreciating leads such as lando and mdia to set hazard for better wallbreaking AND denying hazards well
