I really don't post most of my teams here, but using this team has inspired me to. I have many alts on PS (which I don't want to mention at the current moment), and this is by far one of my best teams. It's gotten me 1900+ on both the OU current and suspect ladder (yeah, not that high, but I mark it as an achievement).

I really just made this team on a whim. I was really getting bored of the rainy days. Rain, rain, rain. I was catching a cold. Sandstorm seemed like the next best option, so yeah. 4 Offensive Mons + 2 Walls is usually my formula, and what I used for this team - stall is boring. If I had to find a weakness, I would say lack of a scarfer/Toxicroak in rain. Well, let's dig in!

Teambuilder: I literally built the above team first try without any changes. I guess I'm just perfect like that :D

~In Depth~
~Tyranitar~
PsAUq.gif
I know man, you're powerful as shit. too bad a punch to the face usually kills you
248.gif
Rainy Boah (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 108 Spd / 148 HP
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
Do not underestimate Choice Band Tyranitar, for even a Pursuit from it wrecks shit. This thing is so powerful, the only thing holding it back is its low speed (which doesn't really matter considering the 1.5 Spec. Def Boost from sand). Frailer pokemon are OHKO'd by the correct STAB move, while others take a huge chunk of damage.
As a team player, Tyranitar sets up Sand, which Terrakion benefits from, but that's really all that Sandstorm does, besides fucking with rain. Trapping Latias and Latios is a nice bonus on top of that. Crunch, Pursuit, and Stone Edge are obvious STAB moves, dealing huge damage with the correct one. Superpower rounds off the coverage by hitting Steels super effectively, as well as fighting types. The EV spread is also obvious, maxing out attack, 108 speed (i just really like that number) and the rest in HP. When I bring in Tyranitar safely, no one likes what comes next.
Potential Changes: The only thing I can really change is Superpower, as my STAB's are necessary. The only fitting thing would be Aqua Tail, but that leaves me helpless against Ferrothorn so it wouldn't be that useful. I could change the entire set into a SR set and change Terrakion, but I prefer this.
~Terrakion~

look at my handsome face bitches
639.png
Red Bull (Terrakion) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Justified
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Taunt
Lead Terrak is one of my favorite Pokemon in OU. Focus Sash guarantees Stealth Rock to be up, and after that, it can usually nab a KO for me after (though I might save it for later). Jellicent is quite a reliable spinblocker so I usually don't have to set it up twice.
Stealth Rock, Close Combat, And Stone Edge are no-brainers for this set. Taunt might seem weird, but I can't tell you how much it's helped me in many battles. Smeargle leads are incapacitated because they can't spore, and I can SR on the switch. Lead Cloysters (lol) are actually quite common, and I can taunt them before a shell smash and then go for the CC. Same goes for many other Lead SR's. Overall, Terrakion is an excellent team player that usually ends up leaving me 5-5with SR up, giving me an early game advantage.
Potential Changes: On the Focus Sash Set, Taunt/Swords Dance maybe, but Taunt's utility has helped me too many times. I could go scarfed (seeing as this team lacks one) but then I would have to make Tyranitar be a SR set. I prefer it this way, but that's what RMT is for.
~Ferrothorn~
tumblr_m7jo5a0DJF1qczibyo1_500.gif
yeaaaa I can use Thunderbolt for some reason
598.gif
#@%$! (Ferrothorn) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
This is just your standard Ferrothorn set, setting up spikes. Ferrothorn walls the shit out of many rain attackers, a trait dearly needed on my team. The EV spread is pretty standard, nothing special. Leftovers are for recovery, blah blah blah. I run Spikes... just for that extra damage upon switching in. It helps. In the past I've only utilized one of Gyro Ball/Power Whip, and of course regretted which one I picked in certain battles. So now I just run both.
Leech Seed is just for more recover because Leftovers usually isn't enough. Ferrothorn, alongside Jellicent, form a combo that is almost too good to be true. But it is. Each resist each others weaknesses, and Ferrothorn sets up spikes while Jellicent spinblocks. Awesome.
Potential Changes: Not much, really. I can exchange one of my attacking moves for Thunder Wave/Protect, but my reasoning for not doing this is above. Maybe I could replace it with Celebi?

~Jellicent~
tumblr_m4aumwcxzw1qckwxco1_r1_500.gif
Bow before my mighty moustache
593.gif
Pringles (Jellicent) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Recover
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
Jellicent is sort of like a glue to my team. It takes care of a lot of physical attakcers the others have trouble with, like Scizor or Toxicroak (it can be trouble if it sets up substitutes though). I also needed a spinblocker because it's annoying to have to set up entry hazards twice. The only problem I have is with T-bolt Starmie, but I can usually just revenge kill it with Alakazam after anyways.
Leftovers gives me durability (sort of needed because of the sandstorm damage) and Water Absorb is better than Cursed Body IMO because Cursed body is situational, and the immunity to water helps a lot to prevent things like Scald burns. The EV's are physically defensive because most spinners are physical, and the speed is so I can taunt certain things before they can move (credit to Vertex for the spread). BTW on all special attackers, I put 0 Attack IV's to minimize Foul Play and Confusion damage. Scald deals damage while being able to burn, Recover gives me durability, Taunt prevents things from setting up, and Will-O-Wisp has a 75% chance to burn rather than 30%.
Potential Changes: Perhaps Toxic over Will-O-Wisp? I find the that the chance to burn assuredly is more useful, but it could stall out many attackers. A specially defensive set, maybe, but I find Forretress's and Donphan's more common than the others.
~Latios~
tumblr_lj3ru1E8m51qhtqp3o1_500.gif
don't make me unleash my draco meteor
381.gif
Buisness (Latios) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Sleep Talk
Fuck yeah! Fast and strong, Choice Specs Latios is one of my favorite pokemon in OU. The only thing that can tank it's Draco Meteor is Specially Defensive Jirachi and Tyranitar, anything else gets wrecked. Anything that doesn't have above average special bulk/resists Latios's moves will probably get OHKO'd. This thing is just that powerful.
Max Special Attack and Speed is necessary to hit as hard and fast as possible. Again, I use 0 Attack IV's to reduce confusion and foul play damage. Draco Meteor is obvious, a 140 Base Power STAB move that wrecks everything that doesn't resist it. Psyshock hits on the defense, which helps a lot. Surf hits a majority of Steel types for neutral damage, and Sleep Talk tops it off so that I'm a surefire Breloom check, with a 66% chance of rolling Draco Meteor or Psyshock (credit to McBarrett). The only thing that completely resists this set is Ferrothorn, but I have other teammates to deal with it. I have to be careful when using Latios, because after a Special Attack Drop, it's extremely prone to being revenged killed. Despite this, I laugh when Cloyster tries to set up on me after, because Draco Meteor STILL OHKO'S.
Potential Changes: Choice Scarf > Choice Specs maybe, but the extra power from Choice Specs is pretty awesome. HP Fire > Sleep Talk can be used to hit Ferrothorn and other steels, but the lowered Speed and utility of Sleep Talk usually isn't worth it.
~Alakazam~
tumblr_lf89xxYPvn1qagx30.gif
hai this is my everyday life
065.gif
Kazam! (Alakazam) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
The revenge killer of this team. Alakazam is such a threat late game, with its Focus Sash + Magic Guard combination. I usually send him out to revenge kill when I know it'll OHKO, then I'll switch out and save it for later. This thing has won so many games for me. It's low bulk usually doesn't even matter because of the Focus Sash.
Alakazam obviously needs max speed and Special Attack to revenge kill. Focus Sash + Magic Guard guarantees it 2 lives (except for multi-hit moves of course) because any moderately powerful attack will usually OHKO it. Psyshock hits on defense side, which usually helps on things like Jellicent or Jolteon. Focus Blast, even though it has bad accuracy, has good coverage alongside Psyshock. Signal Beam hits Psychic types hard, like Celebi, while HP Ice eliminates Dragon Types and Flying types.
Potential Changes: Shadow Ball>Signal Beam, but I've found that hitting Psychic types and Dark types harder is more useful than hitting Ghost types, most of which are decimated by Psyshock anyways. Maybe HP Fire > HP Ice, but again, that one speed point matters. Also, hitting dragons is usually more useful than hitting steels.

Threat List
I'm only gonna post threats that are moderately threatening or very threatening because I don't have time to do each and every one.

460.png
Abomasnow:
  • Mixed Attacker - Not a problem at all. When I see it the Team Preview, I usually lead with Terrakion to OHKO it with Close Combat. Unfortunately, the hail breaks my sash.
  • Choice Scarf -Annoying, because it can take Terrakion down to its sash, then when I OHKO it, the hail kills me off too.
65.png
Alakazam:
  • Focus Sash - This is an actual threat, because it outspeeds every relative threat on my team except it my own Alakazam, but I don't like relying on that. I usually send out Jellicent and try to Scald it to death.
  • Offensive Calm Mind - I never see these, and even if I did, it wouldn't be a problem.
Ani286MS.png
Breloom:
  • Physical Attacker - A pretty big threat. A lot of the time, I see it as a lead, so I can survive the Mach Punch with my Focus Sash, then CC it to pieces. If used later though, it can be a threat to Ferrothorn, Jellicent, and Tyranitar. I usually let one of them sleep, then go into Latios to take care of it.
Ani091MS.png
Cloyster:
  • Shell Smash - It can be a threat if it sets up, but rarely do any of my team members let it do that. Tyranitar can OHKO, Terrakion taunts it, Ferrothorn can survive a +2 Icicle spear and OHKO with Power Whip, Jellicent burns it, and Alakazam can also OHKO. If it does set up, I usually sack something and then go into Ferrothorn.

Ani149MS.png
Dragonite:
  • Dragon Dance - Read Cloyster.
  • Choice Band - Quite a big threat if it predicts correctly, but with good playing I can wall it with either Ferrothorn or Jellicent.
  • Mixed - Usually walled by Jellicent.
  • Parashuffler - It can usually never set up a substitute safely, but if it does, it can be problematic.
  • Rain Abuse - Switch into Tyranitar.
51.png
Dugtrio:
  • Focus Sash - When I see it in Team Preview, I usually just have to be careful with my switches.
  • Choice Band - ^
Ani196MS.png
Espeon:
  • Baton Pass - Annoying if it predicts the times I set up hazards, but I usually pursuit trap it with Ttar.
  • Dual Screens - ^
445.png
Garchomp:
  • Swords Dance - Revenge killed by Zam.
  • Choice Band - ^
  • Choice Scarf - Annoying because Zam can't revenge it, but with the right prediction, not much of a problem.
Ani094MS.png
Gengar:
  • Substitute + Disable / Pain Split - Revenge killed by Zam, but it is annoying before that.
368.png
Gorebyss:
  • SmashPass - Taunt from terrak, none of my other members let it set up anyways.
  • Shell Smash Sweeper - ^
576.png
Gothitelle:
  • Choice Scarf / Specs - Can't hurt my walls, and my offensive threats can usually OHKO it.
Ani130MS.png
Gyarados:
  • Offensive / Bulky Dragon Dance - Annoying when it sets up a Sub, but it's mostly walled by Ferrothorn.
Ani485MS.png
Heatran:
  • Choice Scarf / Specs - Walled by Jellicent/Tyranitar.
  • Air Balloon - lol
Ani635MS.png
Hydreigon:
  • Mixed Attacker - Annoying because I usually have to sack something and then revenge kill with Zam.
Ani385MS.png
Jirachi:
  • Substitute + Calm Mind / Substitute + 3 Attacks - Annoying but it can't do much to Ttar.
  • Wish + Calm Mind - Never seen it.
  • Expert Belt - Never seen it.
  • Choice Scarf - Walled by Jellicent.
647.png
Keldeo:
  • Choice Scarf / Specs - Walled by Jellicent, but if it has a respective Hidden Power, I can just switch into Ferrothorn.
  • Calm Mind - Revenge killed by Zam easy.
Ani645MS.png
Landorus:
  • Rock Polish / Swords Dance - Walled mostly by Ferrothorn and revenge killed by Zam as long as it doesn't get a rock polish.
  • Special Attacker-^
645-therian.png
Landorus-T:
  • Stealth Rock - Terrakion Taunts, then I switch into Ferrothorn.
Ani380MS.png
Latias:
  • Life Orb - Tyranitar.
  • Choice Specs / Scarf - Tyranitar.
  • Calm Mind - Tyranitar.
Ani381MS.png
Latios:
  • Life Orb / Expert Belt - Tyranitar.
  • Choice Scarf / Specs - Tyranitar.
  • Calm Mind - Tyranitar.
Ani448MS.png
Lucario:
  • Swords Dance - lol. If it doesn't have Crunch, walled by Jellicent, If it doesn't have Bullet Punch, Terrakion can revenge kill.
Ani462MS.png
Magnezone:
  • Substitute - Switches into Magnezone are obvious as shit. But it's annoying if it switches in after Ferrothorn kills something.
  • Choice Scarf / Specs - ^
Ani473MS.png
Mamoswine:
  • Physical Attacker - Jellicent and Ferrothorn wall it.
  • Focus Sash + Endeavor - Even better for Ferrothorn because of Iron Barbs.

Ani620MS.png
Mienshao:
  • All-Out Attacker - Walled by Jellicent.
  • Choice Scarf / Band - ^
Ani038MS.png
Ninetales:
  • Special Attacker - Latios and Jellicent are competent switch ins.
Ani186MS.png
Politoed:
  • Choice Specs / Scarf -Walled by Jellicent/Ferrothorn depending on locked in move.
  • Defensive - Hard walled by the above.
Ani579MS.png
Reuniclus:
  • Offensive Trick Room- Did you say you were gonna survive a Ttar's CB Crunch?
  • Calm Mind - An even easier job for Tyranitar.
Ani373MS.png
Salamence:
  • Dragon Dance - This thing is hard to counter. I usually have to sack something and then Revenge kill with Zam.
  • Mixed - I can play around it with the right prediction.
  • Choice Scarf / Band - ^
212MS.png
Scizor:
  • Choice Band - Hard walled by Jellicent.
  • Swords Dance - ^
  • Bulky Swords Dance - ^
Ani560MS.png
Scrafty:
  • Dragon Dance - Jellicent says hi.
  • Bulk Up - ^
319.png
Sharpedo:
  • Speed Boost - Ferrothorn says hi.
235.png
Smeargle:
  • Hazard Lead - Taunt from Terrakion, nearly always a lead.
  • Baton Pass - ^

Hey there!

This team is pretty much the standard of Sand Bulky Offense, and it's really good. Good work, man. Looking at this team, its really solid, but there are a few special tweaks you should try out. The first is use an EV spread of 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spe. This spread is extremely effective in the current metagame, since it can outpace and burn Choice Band Tyranitar, Taunt Skarmory, Politoed, and Metagross, and also, there is only a little bulk lost. This EV spread is completely superior than the one on-site, and the extra loss in bulk is definitely worth a faster Taunt.

Next, Reuniclus is a huge threat tot is team. The problem with Reuniclus is that, its runs Focus Blast, which means that CB Tyranitar Crunch thing you said, was pretty fake IMO. I also feel Alakazam is out of place, and you have two Pokemon that are Pursuit weak. Scizor Pursuit traps them both, and Alakazam and Latios can't do nothing to it. You thought the Choice Band set was hard walled by Jellicent? But it will just U-turn which is major annoyance. You have 3 Pokemon weak to U-turn which is annoying.

I recommend you use an Offensive Mamoswine, which accomplishes Alakazam's job of revenge-killing, especially Dragon-types. Mamoswine also provides you a cushion against Electric-type moves aimed at Jellicent, then decimate them Earthquake. It even has excellent synergy with your team, where Alakazam doesn't. You should run the simple set of Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Earthquake, and Superpower or Hidden Power [Fire] to defeat these threats. Fire Punch would actually helps this team quite a bit of Tyranitar, since it wont be complete jack against Forretress and Skarmory and still OHKOes Ferrothorn iirc.

I like this team a lot and god luck on your future battles. Hope I could help!

473.gif

Mamoswine | Life Orb | Thick Fat
Jolly | 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe | Max IVs
Ice Shard | Icicle Crash | Earthquake | Superpower

Like Vertex said, quite a nice team. I agree with him about Alakazam; it feels slapped on to the end of a very very good core without fitting perfectly. In terms of revenge killers, I think for this team a more bulky one is needed, and as thus I recommend Scarf Jirachi:

385.gif
@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
Jolly 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Iron Head | Ice Punch | U-Turn | Fire Punch

This closes your Reuniclus weakness up a little (Certainly more than Zam) while hitting hard, haxing, revenging, etc. It can even get a late game sweep or two, which with testing i noticed didn't happen a lot with the team, as solid as it is. Terrakion almost seems to be blowing it's potential for destruction by setting up rocks all the time. Thats why I propose changing it to a Double Dance set to make it more offensive:

639.gif
@ Rock Gem

Trait: Justified
Jolly 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Rock Polish | Swords Dance | Close Combat | Stone Edge

Here, you can sweep entire teams easily. The Rock Gem is for the extra power against things when you need it (think Latios after you've Rock Polished, or Jellicent after a Swords Dance), and the moves are easy. But now, you're thinking that you don't have Rocks, and you'd be correct. Trying them on Tyranitar leads to the conclusion that using Ttar to set Rocks sucks. Thats why TTar needs to become Hippowdon:

450.gif
@ Leftovers

Trait: Sand Stream
Impish 252 Hp / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Earthquake | Slack Off | Stealth Rock | Whirlwind

Hippo is a more sturdy Rocks setter than either TTar or Terrakion, and provides a better Physical wall for your team. The loss of offensiveness from Bandtar is made up for with Terrakion, and Jirachi helps with Latios. To further help with Special threats, I'll suggest you change Ferrothorn's nature from Relaxed to Sassy (SpD+, Spe -) and take Vertex's advice about the Jellicent spread. Good luck!

Hey Stone Alchemist, welcome to Smogon! This is a very nice team you have here so hopefully I can help you make it even better.

First of all, I would like to say that I love Shrug's suggestion to use Scarf Jirachi and I would definitely recommend using it. It helps patch up weaknesses to opposing Terrakion and Scizor and has nice synergy on your team.

Even with this change though I can see Breloom still being very annoying for your team to deal with. Lets say you decide to put Jellicent to sleep and switch out to Latios like you said you do. If the Breloom is Fighting Gem and uses Focus Punch on the switch, you are taken out next turn by Mach Punch assuming SR were up. From there you can revenge kill with Jirachi but if Jirachi is gone or their team has a safe Jirachi switch in, Breloom is still lurking waiting to wreak havoc on your team. Due to this weakness I would recommend switching Trick on your Latios to Sleep Talk. This makes Latios a surefire Breloom counter, being able to take the Spore and Sleep Talk next turn with a good chance of rolling either Draco Meteor or Psyshock to take it out.

Lastly, I would second the above suggestion for Jellicent's EV spread as having a faster Taunt is awesome against Stall teams which Jellicent can really wall with ease.

Hopefully my suggestions helped! Let me know how it works and good luck with the team!

I have a suggestion for you

Your team looks pretty weak to rain, so I'll give you my novelty Infernape set that destroys EVERYTHING to hell and back.

Infernape @ Focus Sash
252atk/252spe/4def
Jolly
~ENDEAVOR
~Stealth Rock
~Taunt
~Flare Blitz
To be completely honest, this set is better than lead Terrak in any way possible. Your team doesn't look like it needs to keep its hazard setter because you have a spinblocker and enough power already, but basically you can have a lead that is faster than lead Terrak but can still do what it does. The twist is that it has Endeavor, which is GREAT for weakening opposing Politoed since it can OHKO Infernape, but then you have the sash Endeavor to wreck it and then you could proceed to go into Tyranitar and Pursuit trap it to death. Note that this is level 100 lol....

Thanks for all the rates! I'll try out all of your sets, and see how they go. iliekmudkipz, I don't really see the point of that set, because it's pretty situational because not everyone has a rain team, and even then, most people don't lead with Politoed. Besides, between Jellicent and Ferrothorn, I don't really see myself as rain weak.

Hey man the biggest threat to your team looks like it may be Volcarona. I think a great way to fix this is swap TTar, for a lead version with SR, and Scarf Terrakion. It can outspeed +1 Volcarona, and KO it with Stone Edge. You also have nothing for Sub DD Gyara, so that would fix that problem as well, because 2 bounces at +2 kills ferrothorn after SR damage.

After trying out all the changes, I've decided to replace Trick with Sleep Talk and take Vertex's EV spread for Jellicent. Thanks for all the rates, you guys are great!
