move 4: Toxic / Shadow Ball
item: Colbur Berry
ability: Water Compaction
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
Palossand is a very sturdy physical wall in ZU thanks to its great defensive typing allowing it to handle attackers such as Sawk, Lycanroc, and Kangaskhan. Scorching Sands can cripple the foe with a burn, whereas Earth Power is stronger and is better when Palossand wants to cripple a foe with Toxic instead of a burn. Toxic lets Palossand put foes on a timer and works well with its Ground-type STAB moves, which threaten most Toxic-immune Pokemon. Shadow Ball is an alternative that lets Palossand take advantage of its great STAB combination and can threaten Ground-immune foes such as Uxie and Rotom formes. Colbur Berry is the preferred item, letting Palossand more easily check Choice Band Sawk and stay in once on a Dark-type such as Silvally-Dark to cripple it with Toxic.
Palossand is a solid wall that can fit on almost any playstyle from bulky offense to stall. Fire-types such as Centiskorch and Rapidash check Ice- and Grass-types such as Cryogonal and Tangela for Palossand while appreciating Palossand's solid physical bulk and ability to wall Lycanroc. Teammates such as Pyukumuku, Poliwrath, and Wishiwashi that check Water-types also make great partners that cover Palossand's Water weakness and enjoy its Electric immunity. Toxic absorbers such as Altaria, Skuntank, and Clefairy stop this status from crippling Palossand, and each of these and Palossand complement each other's weaknesses. Dark-types like Alolan Persian make for great partners that can check Ghost-types like Silvally-Ghost and Rotom for Palossand, while Palossand takes on Fighting-types for them.

Other Options
=============
Palossand can run Leftovers over Colbur Berry, (AC) but the proeminence of Dark-types in ZU as well as Knock Off Sawk makes it less appealing.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Water-types**: Water-types such as Basculin, Cramorant, and Wishiwashi threaten Palossand with their super effective STAB moves that can easily 2HKO it through Water Compaction.
**Ice-types**: Thanks to their super effective STAB moves, Ice-types such as Cryogonal, Vanilluxe, and Frosmoth can pick off Palossand.
**Grass-type attacks**: Grass-type moves from attackers such as Centiskorch, Cinccino, and Shiftry are common and threaten Palossand with a 2HKO.
**Toxic**: Toxic from users such as Altaria, Miltank, and Audino puts Palossand on a timer and jeopardizes its ability to wall powerful attackers such as Kangaskhan and Rapidash.
**Special Attackers**: While Palossand's special bulk isn't terrible, most special attackers, such as Thievul, Rotom, and Clawitzer, can still take it out.
