Intro: Hi everyone, my name is The Tyranitar, I go by Tyranical on showdown and if smogon would let me I would change my name to that in a heartbeat. I joined this website/competitive Pokemon in 2010 when I was an 11 year old kid, and I've been playing on and off ever since. Recently, I've been playing a whole lot more, and having more fun to boot. I built this team, in the spirit of fun, but also to hopefully succeed on the ladder. I believe it has done so, as in a couple of days I was able to grind to the mid 1800's. While I'm sure I'll fall in and out of that, and possibly climb higher I wanted to share this team with you all, instead of waiting for some crazy peak. In any case, this team, in my eyes at least is extremely fun when played correctly and i hope you guys will enjoy it. That being said, any suggestions are absolutely welcome, although the primary point of this post is to showcase and share a team I've fallen in love with.

THE HAND (Kommo-o) @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 184 HP / 36 Atk / 132 Def / 156 SpD
Careful Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Rock Slide
- Stealth Rock

Kommo-o is a very interesting mon. I've placed it here as the stealth rocker/heatran switch in/blacephelon and volc counter. It accomplishes these jobs admirably, and is also a fairly decent Kartana and Lando-T check. You can easily set up rocks on stuff like tran, ferro, T-tar without too much fear. It's also bulky enough to stomach non-z plus 1 psychic from Volc, and OHKO back with rock slide. If you fear the Z you could run payapa, but most Volcs these days run Z-bug or Fire anyway. and lefties gets you more mileage in most matchups. Overall, play this mon as a pivot that can eat fire moves that the other pivot on this team, magearna could not.

sceptile-mega.gif

HEIROPHANT GREEN (Sceptile-Mega) @ Sceptilite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake

Mega Sceptile is pretty awesome if you ask me. While on it's own it's nothing too special, it's kind of a monster when paired with Kartana. The entire goal of the team is for Magnezone to trap stuff like Celesteela, Skarm, Ferro and let Sceptile come in and run rampant. While Sceptile doesn't compleltely clean house too often, what it can do is weaken non-steel checks like Lando, Tornadus, Tangrowth, and Mega-Venu for Scarf Kart to ultimately win. At plus 2 it will OHKO Torn, massively dent Lando, and after rocks it can easily 2HKO Tangrowth and Venu. Most teams don't have enough answers for the Scarf kart + Sceptile combo to combat it, and often one of these two will clean house. Don't be afraid to lose sceptile, play it fast and loose and it will take you far, as long as you give it the opportunity.

magnezone.gif

RISOTTO NERO (Magnezone) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 84 HP / 224 SpA / 200 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon

Magnezone is pretty straight forward. It can come in hard or on a predicted double, and kill previously mentioned steel checks for Sceptile and Kart. Not too much else to say here, other than if the enemy team has a mawile make sure to keep this mon alive or else you're in for a rough day. EV's are so you can survive a +6 Aqua jet from Azumarill which is fun, but yeah like I said this is a pretty straightforward pokemon.

kartana.gif

SILVER CHARIOT (Kartana) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword
- Defog

Kartana is a nightmare in today's meta, with scarf being probably one of the easiest and most potent wincons in the game. After Magnezone and Sceptile destroy kart's checks this mon can just go to town. You want to try to save it for as long as possible, and keep the opponent guessing as to what set you are. After the obvious checks are weak enough, choose a coverage move that will sweep the rest of the team and watch in horror as the carnage unfolds. Be careful with defog, as it should really only be used on a predicted switch or on something that can't touch Kart like ferro due to Kart's frailty.

mew.gif

HERMIT PURPLE (Mew) @ Mewnium Z
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 244 HP / 232 Def / 32 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Will-O-Wisp
- Soft-Boiled

This set is (I'm fairly sure at least) my own creation and has quickly become my favorite part of this team. Mew does so much, and honestly if you misplay or lose Scept or Kart, this is the ace up your sleeve. It's the standard bulky spread, so it can check stuff like Medi, Lopp, and Lando pretty easily. however with Calm Mind and Mewinium Z this becomes a demon for the opponent. It is so easy to setup on special and physical attackers alike thanks to Wisp and Calm Mind, and not much can stop you from getting to plus 6 and killing everything. Just make sure all the dark types are gone before you sweep or it'll be pretty awkward when you literally cannot touch them with max boosts. It's hard to convey with just words how broken and unkillable this thing can be, so I'll let the replays that I'll attach in this post do the talking. Another benefit of Mew-Z is that knock off just bounces off Mew.

magearna.gif

KING CRIMSON (Magearna) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 5 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 30 Atk
- Fleur Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Iron Head
Honestly this is such a staple for bulky offense because it just blanket checks so much that the playstyle would be otherwise weak too. Tapu Lele? No big deal, Alakazam? easy, Gren? pitiful. the list goes on but you get the point, this is an amazing pivot. Just remember to share damage with Kommo-o on stuff like Gren, so you don't get constantly wittled as Mag has no recovery at all.

Closing: Ultimately, this is a fun, but actually solid team that has been putting in work for me these past couple days. Even on the reasonably high ladder (1750-1900) this team can win pretty consistently, and while there are of course bad matchups (think stall, teams with endless checks to kart and scept, very bulky psychics) there are also a lot of favorable matchups, especially against offensive teams. No team is perfect, and you can't prepare for everything, but this team can handle most teams well and you'll have fun while doing it. It definitely takes a lot of smart playing to pull off, but when you're on point the team will put in the work. I hope you guys enjoy this team as much as I do, and I eagerly await your feedback! Best- Tyranical

Hey,
Really cool and creative team you have here, I will definetly try it out! I love the use of Mega-Sceptile and your set on Mew is true innovation!

I also used the defensive core of Magearna and Kommo-o in one of my last team and it works really well =) I run Protect on Kommo-o to get more lefties and scout for moves like Koko's Dazzling or beat Z-Fly Lando. Toxic on the last slot to beat Volc but also damage Lando and the like. You might wanna try that as well =) Could you comment more on your EV spread on Kommo-o please?

I'm excited to test your Mew in a team with a more reliable way to lure and kill dark types to make it shine even brighter!
