Hello Everyone,
I decided to do this post because I decided to retire this team. I had a lot of fun with it but it is time to move to my next challenge.
Anyway, here is the proof and i hope you have fun with it if you decide to try it out.
(I chose to make a big list just to congratulate all of my opponents that made being the number one worthy)
Another thing...i am just going to explain the things that are worth explaining ok? things like, WoW to burn, Taunt to stop stall, etc.. are unnecessary.
To the team:

The idea of this team is to eliminate everything that could pose as a threat to Manaphy so that this cute drop of water can sweep. Ok then, lets see the sets:
Ludicra Exspiravit (Sableye) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Knock Off
Ever since this guy this guy showed up with his prankster ability everyone knows how annoying he is.
- Keep him alive if you need to stop a physical threat.
- Sometimes you should sacrifice him with a well timed Taunt/WoW so that you can bring Manaphy in a good position to set up (example: Clefable won't Calm Mind/ Softboiled for 2 turns, Ferrothorn won't Leech Seed, Cloyster and Azumarill won't set up, etc...)
- Scout for anything that can learn Trick as he is pretty useless when equipped with a choice item.
Venenosa Scorpionem (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 192 SpD / 72 Spe
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
All my successful team have this guy, he is amazing.
- Be careful with anything that can have Knock Off, WoW and Trick, it ruins this guy.
- Use Taunt to stop Stealth Rockers and pokemon from using Recover.
- This guy CAN stall, almost every time, Rotom Wash and Rotom is a pain against Manaphy, so use Knock Off, Roost and Taunt to bring Rotom to a tight position.
- This guy CAN face Latios head on, unless it has Ice beam (which is pretty rare), use Knock Off to take out the Life Orb and then Roost.
- Talking about Ice Beam, this guy CAN take most non stab Ice Beams, HP Ice, Icy Wind, which can be pretty decisive. Also, remember that if you are faster, Roost halves the damage from Ice moves, so you can even recover against this moves!
- Gliscors are a great switch in against Gliscor, so if you can, try predicting a switch and Knock Off his Toxic Orb.
- Scout for pokemons that you think have a Choice Item but actually have a Assault Vest/Expert Belt so you don't be taken by surprise.
There is much more to him, but you will discover.
Argentum Volcano (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt
Pretty common pokemon and set but that doesn't mean it is bad. it does his job perfectly as a Special Attack absorber and Stealth Rock Setter.
Oh, and if you are thinking: "Another Taunter?!"
the answer is: "Hell yeah!"
Taunt is absolutely great and necessary for this team to work and people don't expect it. Lets say, a Clefable finally switches in against Gliscor after being constantly taunted by Heatran, thinking it can finally use Softboiled or Heal Bell, not only I stop it, i gain momentum.
If you use this team you will notice how wonderful it is to have 3 Taunters.
Still if you think it is too much, you can switch it to Earth Power or Protect. Same goes for Toxic.
- Toxic is useful for Rotom Wash and Keldeo switch in.
- The combination of Taunt and Toxic stops most Deffogers
- Try over predicting Excadrill coming in to get rid of Rocks
Magnificus Columbam (Togekiss) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Defog
- Roost
Well, this guy is pretty weird... it is my defogger, but actually is the only one weak to Rocks, it is a defensive pokemon with a offensive set up move, and lastly, it is used to remove pokemons that normally can beat him. But it works so...
- I don't like to use the Flinch Hax, but it is my best answer to Assalt Vest Conkelldur, burn him, switch win against its Knock Off, use Air Slash, to Kill/Flinch him and get another turn of burning.
- Nasty Plot is there to help me beat Stall, last answer to Clefable and is great to help me beat Ferro that normally stays in and gives Manaphy trouble.
- It also gets rid of slower Heatrans after a Nasty Plot hoping to Toxic/Lava Plume/ Rocks etc...
- Finally, Defog is essencial as many of my answers to other mons are very well calculated and sometimes rocks really gets in the way (example, Manaphy needs to be able to survive 2 or 3 moves to set up a Calm Mind, Rain and then Rest).
Pythonissam Herba (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 84 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Recover
- Perish Song
- Psychic
Celebi is pretty versatile and this EVs make him able to survive all kinds of hits. Also his ability gives me another status absorber besides Gliscor (and Manaphy, kinda).
There isn't much to talk about him except for Perish Song, which is a life saver:
- It phases pokemon that would love to set up like Nasty Plot Thundurus and Clefable.
- It is a win condition against last pokemons that i can't beat put can stall
- It gives a set up opportunity to Manaphy as it forces a switch while Manaphy uses either Calm Mind or Rain Dance
Aquae Guttam (Manaphy) @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Rain Dance
- Rest
- Scald
Finally, the Star!
The team would be nothing without him! It can make some amazing comebacks, it can open holes, it can't be killed, and i could go on and on, but lets focus...
The job of all the other members is to prepare the match for him, sometimes i am even convinced that i am still going to win after the opponent opens a 6 - 1 advantage if Manaphy counters are weakened.
To make it simple:
If you get Breelom, Raikou, Thundurus, Serperior, Ferrothorn and offensive Celebi are out of the way...then it is game over. Anything else can't kill it if it is at full health.
(of course there are some other threats, but they are very, very uncommon)
At the beginning of the match use him to burn stuff with Scald or weaken his counters, like a Raikou/Thundurus thinking i am going to use Tail Glow/Calm Mind, but always remember to keep him healthy.
Important:
- Be careful with the Rest timing, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use Rest when the Rain timer reaches number 2 as you won't be able to use it next turn (unless the opponent has Ninetales/Tyranitar/Hippo)
- Don't be Greedy! Unless the opponent has a REALLY strong special attacker or a Chansey, you don't need more than 2 Calm Minds.
Final Considerations:
- All mons have recovery moves except for Heatran.
- The team have 3 Status Absorbers
- 3 Taunters
- One phaser
- There is Always an answer to every set, and normally a second answer, so check out the set before facing it. Example: Serperior, if it has HP Ground, than Celebi and Togekiss handle it, if it has HP Fire/ Ice Heatran handles it.
- Synergy is pretty awesome, with some great cores.
That is all folks...if you get used to this team you are gonna have an easy time against almost all types of teams. From Stall to HO and from Sand to Rain.
Here is the team is, have fun:
