[SET]
Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Name: Bulky Setup (Bug)
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 120 HP / 132 Def / 96 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Psychic
- Morning Sun
[SET COMMENTS]
Deciding to forgo an offensive EV spread on Volcarona and instead opting for investment into its Defenses can comfortably let it take hits from the likes of Clodsire and Ting-Lu while it sets up with Quiver Dance. Flamethrower provides easy removal of problematic Steel-types like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Gholdengo. Psychic provides solid coverage, hitting troublesome Poison- and Fighting-types like Toxapex, Glimmora, Okidogi, and Iron Hands along with allowing Volcarona to hit Fire- and Water-types that resist Flamethrower. Morning Sun provides Volcarona a form of healing, making its setup far easier against targets that cannot threaten it out like Galarian Slowking and Iron Hands. The EV spread maximizes Volcarona's bulk while still allowing it to outspeed Zamazenta after a Quiver Dance and land an OKHO on Keldeo with Psychic.
Volcarona greatly appreciates Scizor removing problematic Rock-types like Kleavor, Ogerpon-C, and Iron Boulder, which all threaten Volcarona immensely. Kleavor helps Volcarona by providing Stealth Rock with Stone Axe, along with removing Fire-types like opposing Volcarona, Ogerpon-H, and Ninetales. Scizor and Kleavor, in return, benefit from Volcarona removing the physically bulky threats that wall them such as Toxapex and Skarmory. Slither Wing aids Volcarona in removing bulky special walls like Heatran, Hisuian Goodra, and Alolan Muk thanks to its Fighting-type STAB move. Forretress provides a form of entry hazard removal, being able to remove Stealth Rock should Volcarona lose its Heavy-Duty Boots, and it can also set up Spikes to chip switch-ins like Heatran, Tyranitar, and Galarian Slowking. Forretress also provides Volcarona a safe entry thanks to Volt Switch. Galvantula threatens Water-types that can take on Volcarona, including Hisuian Samurott, Pelipper, and Primarina. Ribombee can threaten Dragon-types like Garchomp and Walking Wake that could handle Volcarona. Araquanid can threaten Fire-types that would otherwise wall Volcarona's Fire-type attacks like Heatran, Iron Moth, and Ceruledge. Galvantula, Ribombee, and Araquanid also provide support by laying Sticky Web, allowing Volcarona to outspeed otherwise faster threats such as Choice Scarf Glimmora and Sand Rush Excadril after a single Quiver Dance. Lokix can remove dangerous Choice Scarf threats like Iron Boulder and Roaring Moon thanks to its powerful priority, preventing them from revenge killing Volcarona.

Fiery Dance can be more beneficial over Flamethrower, being able to potentially provide a Special Attack boost while on the offensive against bulky targets like Galarian Slowking. Will-O-Wisp can be used over Psychic to hinder physical attackers that threaten Volcarona such as Landorus-T and Dragonite.
